Support from Navien in SoCal was weak when tested last summer. Never connected successfully to the Navien system. Tried with three different Droid phones and one iPhone. App needs better troubleshooting modes to support consumers and factory reps. App is at considerable risk for finger-pointing anti-patterns. Tried earlier this summer 2018. YMMV.
The app provides some useful information and I like that I can change the temp and turn the unit on and off from the app. Not very intuitive however. Could use a major redesign. Why not use the app for the "hot button" recirc feature instead of making us buy another expensive add on?
The interface is especially clumsy and glitchy, also seriously lacking in features and controls. The app lacks detailed use information and instructions, not even a YouTube video or pdf, other than for basic installation connections. In today's hyper connected world that is a serious FAIL! FAIL! FAIL! Improve the app and I will upgrade this review. It deserves a ZERO at this time.
Tons of bugs. This used to work fine about a year ago, but now it says "can not connect to server" 90% of the time. The few times it does find my device, it crashes within a few seconds before I can get to any useful information
This app is terrible. If you're thinking of buying the Navilink for your Navien water heater, don't. This app is so confusing and hard to use that users have had to create a user guide to actually explain the cryptic nature of the user interface and app functionality (or lack thereof). Navilink is very useless and the app makes it even more useless.
The app is barely of any use when paired with an NPE 240A and it can't even display the little information it does correctly on my S20 Ultra. The top 1/5 of the screen scrolls up and down, then there is another static 1/5th used to set what temp and turn system on/off, and the rest is blank! What a waste to spend nearly $200 for the water heater's wifi option. Overall this app is extremely poor! What a letdown! Hopefully the water heater itself won't turn out to be a lemon as the app did.
User interface is terrible. Worst $200 upgrade ever. Why does this app have 1/3 of the screen blank and the 1/3 that has information I need to see in a box that I have to scroll up and down constantly and the other 1/3 is settings that should never need changed.
So so. I got it to work stable with my combi boiler NCB-240e. It has some good information. I think the graphs are the most important information but I would like a chart better or some way to get the specific daily numbers instead of guessing with the bar graphs. Or some way to download the daily numbers.
Update: After working well as per initial review, app now hard locks (Android on Moto g5) and hangs phone... requiring phone restart. Hangs at the "loading..." screen. Only way to get it working is to power cycle unit at furnace and phone. Hangs daily. Cant find help desk info...any help would be appreciated as this is a remote unit for us.
App works well and provides quick easy to read information. Placement and ui design could use improvement as information does not fill entire screen on my galaxy s10. A more dynamic layout based on screen size would be beneficial.
You get zero stars. I installed this with the wifi router and it worked for less than 24hrs. Now all it does is spin the loading symbol. Other than that it crashes my phone or kicks me out of the app.
This app is not at all intuitive. Most of the data means nothing to me. i cannot activate recirulation from app (yes my system has a recirc pump). This app needs a simple user friendly format.
Extremely non-user friendly to set up. Tried for an hour and gave up. Tried again next day and gave up after over an hour. Right now the wireless receiver is a $200 paper weight.
navilink disconnected and app crashed several times during setup. app is supposed to support turning on/off recirculation mode (primary reason I bought the Navilink) but no option to change it.
The navilink manual is translated poorly to English. none of the pictures in the manual match the app. And I dare you to call their tech support. They are rude and useless. Sorry for making you do your job which is helping people. Just go with a different brand.
Glitches from the start. Cannot sign in or reset password. Developer needs to scratch and rebuild the app. Very frustrating and waste of time and money on the hardware. Navien step up and fix this please!
App needs an overhaul. Some of the information is useful, the presentation is terrible. Latest version more buggy than before

App is worse than I thought. looks like it's from 1999, hard to use, and now won't even let me access my tankless unit. trying to add an additional user, good luck
App does not work with Samsung tablets. I contacted support with the issue and have not received a response.
Tha app is constantly crashing. I am able to use it for about 15 - 30 seconds at a time.
Only works on some (residential) networks good luck making it work on any comerical wifi systems or ever hardwired system

App no longer works. heater npe 210a is a trash. Constant error e003. Regret buying it. Do not buy navian heater.

this app is terrible on android. i have a one plus 7t running android 10. The video and the sales pitch was that i could turn on my recirculation pump at any time with the app. The hot button like in the video doesn' exist. The screen is shrunken all weird which makes it difficult to use and it is hard to tell if recirculation is on or off. This app really needs updated.
