Would give Zero stars, if I could! Could not get logged in even after I created a login on the website. Tried 4 times. When getting into the app I was unable to use the login I had already created, I had to make a new one and put all the same information in again. My password was not accepted even though I met all the criteria and tried two different passwords. Deleted the app and will just use the website.
The app really needs some drastic updates. It looks like garbage, the user interface doesn't make any sense, and I've had to reinstall the app multiple times just to regain the ability to log in and add funds. Literally the whole point of the app is to allow people to manage their prepaid card and many people can't even log in which makes the entire app 100% useless. Worse than useless actually because this is something people rely on to manage money for their children or their budget, and when it stops working it puts stress and hardship on those same people/customers.
Worst app ever! I have 2 kids with cards and I cannot easily load their cards through the app. Always need their card number just to log in. Usually, they are not with me when I am trying to log in so talking on the phone to get their card number and trying to log into the app at the same time is ridicules. I always end up waiting until I can get to my computer to load their cards. Not very convenient at all!
UPDATE: Just attempted to use the app after 1 year, still no improvements. Original: Worst banking or prepaid card app I have ever attempted to use. App will not allow access even after setting up my account multiple times. When I finally got "SUCCESS" screen, it dumped me back to the login page and would not accept the screen name or password just accepted.
This app is in SERIOUS NEED of an update. Many functions are not implemented: switching NFCU funding cards, fingerprint authentication, card lock/unlock, text confirmations of purchases. App UI looks like it was drawn up sometime in the early 2000's and was left behind while the main NFCU app functionality has been updated and maintained properly. If you want your customers to use this product, make the updates. Otherwise, stop offering the Prepaid card because this app makes you look BAD!
You're better off just going to the website on your browser, than using this app. The fields that you need to fill in all overlap each other to the point where you can't what information that you need to put in, or what on information you have enter. Trying to reorient the screen on your device doesn't help.
This app definitely does not work. Everytime you try to set it up, it keeps saying invalid password. Then, I go back to try to change it, and it keeps saying the same thing. No need to call customer service because they don't know anything except to tell you to uninstall and re-install app or wait 60 minutes. This is too frustrating
Every time I try to add card it says invalid password. And yes the password meets the requirements. After a few tries, it then said I need to reset the password. When I get to the reset screen and fill in all the info, it says I must create an account for the card first. It's a never ending circle.
Works fine for me. Haven't had any issues in the past, either. All android devices. Same annoyance as everyone else, though. Why is the username and password set different from the website? Is that on purpose? If it is a security concern, why is not the main NFCU account app set the same. Have had to reset my password one too many times. What's the deal?
Not very compatible for multiple users since the acct can have more than one. Doesn't sync immediately with the website. I reset my password on the website, but was still locked out on the app. Just repeated issues.
Recently, the app has been giving me a login error but when I go to the site on the computer or phone, it works fine. Usually, I have had no problems but now it doesn't work at all. Even resetting the password won't work, through the app. *shrug
Not really sure how your regular app can be so great and your prepaid app be treated like the red headed step child, But I updated my card over a month ago and it still doesn't show correctly. So im having constant issues trying to reload It. It really shouldn't be as hard to navigate and use as it is.
UPDATE: I am still not happy. Your system keeps taking me out of my notification. Youre system kicks me out of enable status. I am not receiving any text messages regarding my transactions! I am a victim of id theft and it is very important i stay on top of all transactions. This is not the first time and so there needs to be a trouble ticket issued. I am sure I am not the only one so better fix it
Can't send text notifications - Whenever I try to notify via text it prompts to send an email no matter what device I am on. App notification option doesn't work at all. It errors out. Please fix!!
This app is more of a pain than it is useful. From me being unable to log in just a month ago, to my account currently being unable to transfer funds from my debit card to my prepaid card, I'm really contemplating just un-installing it and using the website only.
The app and the website are ridiculous it is not user friendly at all!! They need to rethink the whole setup. It tells you how to add funds and you go there and nothing is there to add funds. I have no clue how to add funds through my account onto my daughters. Im withdrawing the money and closing this account and finding something simpler. It says you can add family quick and easy WHERE!!! Then it just sends a email your child is requesting money no link or anything just a demand.
The app will not work if you're the parent with TWO OR MORE kids as cardholders. In order to load funds , find balance, transactions,, etc.. You have to call the 1 800 number, navigate through the phone service, verify who you are , all account info, security questions. Then explain what you need done on each account. The worst is the phone teller always says at the end of the call " as a friendly reminder, you can download the BUXX app instead of calling.
I have to input my username, password, AND the card number just to check my daughter's account.... and oh by the way I also have a remember my daughter's username and password...as this app very rarely makes getting into it easy. We are looking into a non Navy Federal option for us to pay our daughter her chore money. It is NOT worth this level of stress.
App not working.....again. Notifications of added funds can't be sent via text. Have contacted the developers several times about this over the past year, but still no response AND it's not fixed. Wow, NFCU-I thought you were better than this....
Worst ever rip off ever!! Geezzz now I can't even send money anymore even though I have a JOINT CHECKING ACCOUNT THAT I PUT MONEY IN!!!! Now, I can only add money from the PRIMARY person's checking account using their card and info. Why was I even issued a card in my name from my Navy checking account, if I can't even put money on the card from MY Navy Federal account. Now I can only add cash to this card and get charged 20$ for every 100 $ I put on the card. RIP OFF, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
Very clunky app, strange UI / Design, and a little awkward to use. overall experience is not consistent with Navy Federal brandind and experiences elsewjere, but the app will do what it needs to do.
I expected better from NFCU. This app is clunky and I can't even get it set up. It's clear from other reviews they don't put that much effort into maintaining or improving it if they do at all... Really disappointed.
It's Navy Federal Credit Union so it is Awesome ! A very very safe addition to my wallet.. I use it for safe online shopping and while travelling..makes it stress-free...no worries ..even if lost or stolen or hacked!
Was working fine then it said authentication error. Now it keeps requesting I change my password even after I already changed it! Please fix!!! Great app but there appears to be bugs.
You changed the BUXX card which i did not have and updated the Go card I have had for years. Now i try to add the new card to the new app that downloaded and it wont send me a code and the old app i was using no longer says GO at the top but says BUXX.. what the heck
Where's the update? Received email that a major update for the program would be here on Jan. 25th. Supposed to be getting a new app, EMV cards, and wallet capabilities. Still waiting...
I quit using this last year because it always blocks me when I try to login. Always have to reset pass and login. But it doesnt even *work* because I just get blocked and try the process all over again until I give up. I came back this year hoping it would be fixed but I could not get past registering since I got blocked. Customer service cannot really help besides suggesting to try again in an hr or day later. They are almost powerless. The app/browser version heavily needs to be redone.
