Really disappointed. The navybmr website is awesome. Zero complaints about the website. But this app is a disaster. I can't change the rank in my profile, so I can't tell if I'm studying the right material. Tried changing the rate to see what happens, and nothing changes. The list of topics have 2 to 10 exact copies. You click on one and all copies open. I know navybmr can fix this. Again their website is awesome. Really disappointed. Oh and why cant I be logged in on more than one device???
App is ok. But even with the update, the questions don't show what the they're referencing. For example Page 8-48 I know it's chapter 8 page 48 but for which one of numerous books we gotta sort through?? Also instead of listing the figures can you upload pictures ?? It's hard enough finding them without a reference.
Got to say NavyBmr definitely made my advancement lot easier. As paid customer, all the quizes and bulk testing made it lot easier and saved lot of time studying. It was definitely worth it as a paid customer. I will be back next year for the studies and last exam ever for Chief hopefully. I still got to say, you can't just rely in this only and not read the actual instructions or policy. I did both and saved tremendous amount of time and headache if i have to make all them questions and quizes.
I was really excited to see that there was an app that provided study material specific to your rate. Being a PAID app I expected it to maybe at least half way completed prior to a week before the exam, but no. All there is available is references pretty much, and for not even all the pubs required. I can google the pubs instead of pay $20 for them..... Almost every pub is "under construction" which is either just a reference and no questions or nothing at all.
Helpful App!.... but the "Audio Guide" doesn't read you the chapters from your books like you would think, it just reads the quiz of the same questions in the same order out loud. The Audio Guide should really be more like an Audio Book that you can play and listen to while driving or read along.
Constant issues, can't login, can't pay for the subscription. When it does work there are random flashcards that have nothing to do with the study material. Not really worth downloading and paying $20 a month if it's not functional.
Great app. I would give 5 starts if it weren't for one issue. On multiple choice questions it's not uncommon for the forth option to be cut off. It doesn't seem to be an issue on tablets but on my phone it happens frequently.
great app but offline mode needs to be fixed ASAP. when i close the app and reopen it in offline mode i have to log in again... and during an underway... not exactly gonna workout for me. also some of the ET study guides need to be uploaded or fixed.
app worked decent till a few days ago. for some reason when I try to open any mode within the selected topic, nothing will load. I've tried restarting numerous times. no luck. a rapid fix would be great with the test 3 weeks away.
I have been using this app for 2 years now. I guarantee it has played a HUGE part in the fact that I made third and second first time up. I recomend it to everyone! well worth the money! many different types of ways to study. You wont find a better way to get ready for the exam!
The different exam ranks aren't separated. you have to know exactly what you need to study for each exam it doesn't separate it by itself. Huge problem. Since the new exams do not require pmk-ee they should get rid of those anyway. Or at least separate it into a different tab. On the Facebook page for this app they mock people that complain this isn't free anymore but in reality it is not worth $20 a month. Not until they actually can restructure to a more user friendly and intuitive training.
Used this app as one of the many tools last cycle to pick up rank. I was going to use it again for this upcoming exam but it's no longer free. No thank you, immediate uninstall. Finding this material is free, you were just convenient. But certainly not $20 a month convenient.
Great tool for when you are on the go and need a quick study session when you aren't able to sit down at PC. It is always updated with the ne w study materials needed to further advance your career.
Not only is it $20 i am not able to get the best service for it as it will flashback to previously answered questions , and it isn't occasionally. This is with solid wifi as well. Fix this or lower your price.
I love the NavyBMR app! The offline mode makes it especially helpful when you're underway. I used the app to study on deployment just 20-30 minutes a day and made IC2 the first time taking it. I recommend this app all the time to other sailors.
This review is not really for the app, but for the website. I used their paid option to study for this last exam and made AM1 by 7 points with quotas at 13%. I highly recommend paying the $20/month for the 6 months you need to study. Do it for an hour a day and I bet you'll make it!
It was good before now is trash, I paid the 20 dollars on laptop cause it won't let you on the phone... Is not good at all, I was trying it for a few hours. It sucks, I went back to bluejacketeers. I can't believe I just waisted 20$ this is trash on the app and website. DO NOT BUY.
Amazing app, plain and simple. I took the first class exam once studying by myself and tested 58th percentile. I then took the exam this past cycle after using Navy BMR app for approximately 1 month and tested in the 90th percentile. I'm pretty sure the extra $500 a month in BAH and base pay will cover the $20 well spent. I seriously reccomend this to all of my friends trying to make rank, and I encourage all of you to try it for at least a month before your next exam cycle. Good luck!
I finally made CS1 thanks to the help of this app! I was in the 3% who advanced for my rate. I raised my test score which is the primary reason I advanced. Thank you so much NavyBMR for all the great information you offer in the app! I will recommend to all my shipmates!
You can't use this app if you are also using a PC to login to study. The app is not set up like the PC version. You have to know what references you need to study it doesn't automatically populate by rate and rank.
in reality, this app s**ks. more than 80% of my rate materials are not available And i wish i had known before wasting my $20.. i dont recommend anyone else throwing out such amount of money... but maybe it may be different for other rates. but seriously this is trash.
Can't believe we have to pay $20 a month to use this app now. That's expensive to use an app to study. Why not make it maybe a onetime fee for an exam cycle. It was a very good resource for sailors but I guess not anymore...
The ATO flash cards are terrible, most of them give you just acronyms for answers rather than giving you the full name with an acronym at the end.
The app/website works okay, the information is not as accurate as I thought it would be. It does not work for AWS due to many of the publications are unavailable.
Is not bad, it just that in the app the mock exam never shows, in the web is always not responding and the app and the web is not synchronized. So I'm paying and is not helping me with all the bugs
Horrible way to study. Half of the material it has never loads.. This app sucks. I wish there was a better place to get all the reference material.. the worst part is that it's $20 a month.... Ridiculous
While it contains some good info that doesn't consistently change over time, it also contains quite a bit of irrelevant information for the technical rates.
would give no stars used the app last year and now I have to pay for it. how is this suppose to help us if we have to pay for it every month. bunch of bull if you ask me. uninstalling now. as an armed forces member this was a great help now not so much.
excellent except for errors please i paid money for this. Update errors specially with other rates it has no info. or it says UNDER CONSTRUCTION. OR IT TAKES TO LONG FOR THE QUESTIONS TO LOAD.
So... before, you were able to choose what to study based on rate AND rank. That seems to be gone, along with 85% of the studying material. Nearly everything is under construction or unavailable. I checked other rates to be sure that wasn't the cause. It wasn't. $20/month does seem kinda' high, but even more so when the content and options have massively been removed. I'll give it a month to see if it improves. Hope I didn't just waste $20.
