For all the money the NBA is making off league pass and media, i cant believe how bad this app is. Cant hide scores, constant crashes, the DVR capability is so bad. i could go on. they know they have a product you want and it's like they know they don't have to try that hard on the apps UPDATE: Added a star because there is a way to hide scores (although I was looking for a SETTINGS option in the MORE section, not a separate gear button at the top. To expand on the DVR: If I start watching a game halfway through, I should have the option to start from the beginning, but it's not there. So I try to backtrack by using the -15 seconds button, but it is very unresponsive, so I don't know if it's because I can't actually backtrack or if it's just buggy. There's also no progress bar that I can slide back to the beginning. Sometimes I'll push the plus or minus 15 seconds and it will suddenly snap the game back to live. I would be less frustrated if the Roku app didn't have problems too. They both it difficult to navigate a game forward and backward. It's also frustrating that you are trying to insert ads into the DVR. That's just double dipping

I agree with some of the other comments. There are too many glitches and it's annoying that you first have to hit pause before going back a segment. I gave it three stars, though, because the Roku app is much better. Still, the stream freezes sometimes even with my wireless providing a full signal. There have been times with the Roku app that my game won't load or I get bumped off the stream (Team Pass for the Nuggets). Still it works 90% of the time vs. 50% for the mobile app.

When the app actually works it's fine. The problem is, it only works about half the time. The main issue is after each phone OS update, the app loses my League Pass info and when I try to re-enter it, it hangs up at the TV provider screen. That's what I'm fighting right now. I've uninstalled/reinstalled at least four times and no matter what, it stalls at the same point. I'm about ready to just forget it altogether.

This app constantly is not able to get a live feed going right away once I click on the game. It's takes forever to pull up the live content. Even the highlights and videos have a hard time. There's got to be a fix to have this running a lot more efficient. There's really been no change from using it last year to this year. I have a galaxy s8. My friend with a iPhone X experiences the same problem on the mobile side.

This ability to turn off notifications appears to be broken. They can be turned off but every time you close the app then relaunch it all the notification settings are back on. Very frustrating. Update: The ability to turn off notifications has indeed been fixed. Unfortunately, it is now the slowest loading app I have. If you like watching the loading symbol spin this is the app for you. I truly want to like this app and did last season. This season's "improvements" are anything but that.

The app keeps crashing. Ever since the 19-20 season has started the app keeps crashing. Fix it NBA. I use a galaxy s10 and everytime I open the app it crashes at least 10 times before it opens properly. Please fix it. I have been auto updating this app to the latest version everytime it is released. I am still experiencing the issue. It happens on both wifi and data. Haven't tried on any other device than mine. But the issue is still there.

when it works, it's great. does what I need it for. most the time lately nothing shows up when I open the app. just a blank screen. I've uninstalled reinstalled a few times and that does nothing. not sure what else to do. it's only on my mobile phone it doesnt work. on my sony tv it is still fine. for now. I've had problems there too in the past.

If you live outside your team's market, you have no choice but to go with league pass, otherwise I would choose another option to watch a game. Every year I hope to be able to watch the first game of the season and everyone year league pass has some sort of bug that won't let me watch and it doesn't get fixed until a week or so later. Only reason I keep coming back is the monopoly, but after three years of the same bs to start the season I've about had it. NBA, try to put out a functioning app and fix the bugs before the season starts!

I have purchased league pass through the app and it is really hard to get it to work. The game will start fine but the first ad during a timeout the stream will freeze at the end of the ad and won't work. I can spend 20 minutes restarting the app and I might get to watch 20 seconds of a game and it'll freeze again. I've missed half a game cause the app freezes and won't work properly. Update: thanks for fixing the bug with stuck controls login prompts. More bugs: 1) the 15 forward button doesn't work consistently anymore 2) when I don't finish watching a game PLEASE LET ME RESUME where I left off. especially on mobile, when you get interrupted often. someone calls me or i have to lock the screen for a second and i have to start over watching the game? come on!!!

I did not enjoy the app at all. There were way to many ads, which made the "live" games behind by serveral minutes. I was trying to watch the Pistons game (using the free trial league pass), during the beginning of quarter 2. Until I got a notification from ESPN saying that it was now the end of the 2nd quarter of the game. I looked to see if the game was live, and it was. There are way to many ads, which completely ruins the whole app. I'm not looking forward into buying the league pass.

Whenever watching games the streams glitch. I can also rarely every navigate back to switch games. Every time I swipe back it transitions into the same screen again displaying the same game. I have to force kill the app to reset it. It also keeps opening from the background if I cast a game to my TV. I have to force quit the app then as well to stop it. Every year the app just gets worse. Focus on improving the quality of the app first before trying to add so much else.

Horrible horrible horrible. I would advise you not to purchase through Google play if you want to watch the games on TV connected devices because it doesn't work. Rip-off, the sync process isn't helpful and does NOT work at all. I will purchase online, though my Sling TV subscription or on my Amazon fire TV stick. At least I know they'll be worth the money I spend every month.

I should not have to watch commercials when I'm paying full price for an app. The commercials interrupted every game I watched, and they have continued to play for 3 to 4 mins and won't return to the game after the commercials end. Simple continues to loop or remain on the last commercial screen. I have to manually exit the app then come back into the app to return to watching the game. Poorly designed and integrated commercials. Needs to be fixed as it's more expensive than Neflix, Hulu, & ATT.

It's a tedious process to switch between games while using a Chromecast. The app becomes unresponsive and you cannot go back to see all the games. If you do somehow get back after you got the back button enough, once you try to switch to another game it just sends you back to the game you were watching. This makes it aggravating to watch games. The work around is to stop casting and close the app because once you stop casting it crashes. Reopen the app and pick your game just don't switch.

I updated the NBA app on 12/19/18 because I was excited for the enhancments to Chromecast, described as the primary reason for the update. I was hoping for improved controls as they have been quite poor. Well now poor controls aren't a problem any more because now I can't cast at all to my Chromecast now. The load screen just runs and runs and the game doesnt start. It works just fine watching on my phone. Very disappointing.

Pretty good... Has trouble casting to Chromecast though. It looks like it's going to start casting, but I just end up with a screen that says "ready to cast" or a blank grey screen. It does this with both live and archived games. Using a OnePlus 6. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling on multiple devices. Same experience on all devices.

this app has always been good for getting scores and schedules. as far as news sometimes the articles will load up and sometimes they won't. It seems like any video longer than 2 minutes will freeze and not continue to play. The live streaming of games has basically just ceased to work. It's frustrating because the app was working so well earlier this season. I have updated the app numerous times trying to fix it but get the same result. the developers are quick to respond but it still doesn't wk

Good for checking box scores, but that's about it. It will sometimes let me start watching a game, and fail a minute or two in. Then it tells me no streams are available, which is obviously not true. I was just watching it! And if no streams are available, what am I paying $200 for? If I can get one streaming, it fails as soon as I try to cast to my Tv. I'm connected to WiFi and every other streaming service I have works perfectly. League Pass is a complete and utter disaster.

The app was better last year. I love that you guys added NBA TV to watch games but it should be available 24/7 like NFL, MLB apps. Also I can't click on rookie stats like I can everyone else. I think it's a bug. For example, I can click on Stephen Curry's stats but if I click Trae Young it does nothing and shows me nothing. RE: Thanks for responding. I reinstalled the app and it's the same issue. It happens when you are looking at a live game and you click on someones name. I can't click on any rookie (Doncic, Young, Jackson Jr) but all other NBA players are fine.

My big problem with this app is; it presents very interesting topics in my Notification feed, but every time I click on a notification that I really want to read up on - it brings me to a screen of videos, and none of what is shown match the description of what the Notification was! Waste if time. Otherwise a good app if you go directly to it with zero expectations.

You have a mistake on game times. I'm in HI and game times are my local time with ET at the end. For example, today's Hawks VS Pistons game is listed as 11 AM ET. Since I just updated the APP, I don't know if the problem of scores, stats and play by play is still leading the audio. I have to turn my screen off when action resumes to avoid confusion. I have League Pass Audio because my team is blacked out.

I get notifications about stories that appear interesting to me, but they open extremely slowly, if at all. I'm at home, with fast WiFi, so it must be the app. I have seen this only on notifications, and haven't tried to use the app for anything else. Nor have I tried to solve the problem, doesn't seem to be worth the effort.

I'm fairly disappointed in this app which I only download it so that I could stream my Team Pass subscription. There is no option of watching the game in portrait mode, and it is extremely buggy sending you to app commercials during timeouts and interrupting the in arena view. It also crashes at the end of the spammy commercial forcing you to back out and reselect your choice of stream. I don't use it to scroll results and articles so I'm not basing my review on those features.

Will frequently tell me I can't watch a game, even though it's an NBA TV game. It logs me out and then won't let me long in because of some error. The stream take a long time to load and looks like a blank screen that makes you think that your phone turned off. Just a bad experience. Also won't sync with the computer side of things if you want to watch on your computer.
