For overseas audiences without alternatives. the subscription cost is incredibly expensive, especially to have constant drop-outs and out of sync audio. I can't watch a game without having to constantly reload, and many games have a 10 second gap between audio and video syncs.
First review iv ever done and all because of how terrible this app is for such a multi million dollar company to charge the price they do. Really reflects them as a business really. Looking at feedback they only suggest making sure you have the latest version.... terrible. Sound and video always out of sync and freezes constantly. Dunno how many times i can delete it and redownload the app for the "latest version" they like to say in a hope for the fixes to be made. Step up, never fix anythin
Does not work with Wi-fi when streaming games. Reached out to customer service and they told me to use my phone. Good thing I have unlimited data. Needless to say, will not be renewing league pass for next year Dropped review to one star since this didn't fix the problem. For some reason ESPN, Peacock, and MLB work fine. Sounds like a NBA App issue.
Overall the app is fine, but it randomly started region blocking me during this round of the playoffs. I live in the US and just want to watch playoff game recaps/see box scores, bummer. Reply to feedback: This is the app in general, not league pass. I literally just want to open the app and it says it's not available in my area. I'm not watching games with the app.
Hide score ON: still spoilers. While entering a game already finished, even with hide score :on you see top left the current score of the serie. Including the game you are about to watch. Oh man, please fix it. You need to understand this is a crucial feature. Living in Europe so can't watch the games through the night, so I need a properly working score hiding option.
Can't watch from beginning either on phone or Chromecast. Miserable experience having a game in progress ruined when you want to watch on a slight delay. The web supports this, no clue why the app doesn't. And clicking restart on the scrub control (after you've already had the score ruined because it starts live) doesn't work on Chromecast anyway. This is a solved problem, guys.
Always crashes at clutch times, drops out 3 to 4 times a game. Very bad app for $40 a month and very poor value for money.. Uninstalled and installed multiple times.. same bugs are not addressed. Very low max resolution 720p.. nba support no help. Update: casting the game today and freezing every 2min switched to kayo app for the espn game.. no issues at all.
Was an awesome app but now when I tried to stream a game a message pops up noting "This video cannot be played. Manifest Error Code: -1." Fix instructions I find only suggest to clear data, clear cache and reinstall app which I've done 3 times and issue still not resolved. Then researched my phone was not having a private DNS which prevented to play videos. Problem solved!
Terrible streaming platform. Huge latency issues when using Chromecast, Audio is also constantly out of sync. Fortunately a 7 day free trial is offered to see how bad this service is before paying. Downside is you actually have to email to unsubscribe as opposed to a button in the app in 2022. Would not recommend League Pass
Guys, please, change this player in the app. Put one like the YouTube or anyone that can run fast and soft. Using the app in the Chromecast is terrible. I'm having a bad experience, a lot of crashes while I try to watch the games (This happens in Screen Mirroring).
Very disappointed that the audio/video lag, mismatch, and freezing is still happening. I gave up League Pass years ago, and had hoped they fixed it by now. No such luck. If you're going to charge such high prices, it would make sense to fix well known issues...
I just purchased league pass on my computer, and downloaded the android app on my phone. As soon as I launch the android app, I get a message saying "This content is currently not available in your region.' I'm not looking to watch the current game in a few hours (which is blacked out, but that's another rant), I'm just trying to launch the app to watch an older game. But every launch shows that error then closes the app. It's literally unusable.
Horrible experience. The app crushes frequently (more than 5 times per game) and you have to reopen and try again. I understand the high traffic during playoffs but I have payed and should be able to watch a game without too many interruptions. Please fix it.
I cast my viewing to a Chromecast to watch on my TV. For on-demand games (i.e. not live) it's ok, it's not perfect, there is the occasional freezing and buffering but it's on the whole quite good. For watching live games it's absolutely horrendous and has actually got worse over the years. Live games constantly freeze and buffer, and the audio often doesn't match the video, sometimes it's ahead and sometimes it's behind. It makes watching live games almost impossible and very frustrating.
I don't use the app for that much, mostly to check scores, standings, and boxes. The one improvement I'd suggest, though, would be to shorten or eliminate the brief video of hands holding the Larry O'Brien trophy aloft as the app opens. I'm sure someone thought this would be a great symbolic focus...why we play and all that, but it's annoying when all a user wants is quick information. Otherwise, the app is fine.
Can't believe they charge money for an app that can barely cast the games properly to my TV. If you manage to cast the game you're watching it'll start stop constantly or have delayed sound. Do what you can to watch games somewhere else! If this is your last choice be ready to have to watch the game on your phone because the casting functionality is TERRIBLE
Please work out the difference you have with Samsung. I really want to have a NBA app on my Samsung TV so I can watch it there. :( I am experiencing way too many freezes and pauses with Google Chromecast (the newest one) esp watching it live so I gave up on TV already. Please don't make me cancel my membership next season 🥲
"content not available" is happening again (now 1 star) 1. I often get "No content is available at this time". But the game is happening live, and I pay full price for your service, living overseas, no VPN needed. (android app) Terrible. 2. There are spoilers on the home screen. That's just amateur. Who pays to watch a movie, only to have the ending spoiled on the way into the theater? Ridiculous. Don't ask me to submit a support ticket. That won't fix anything. The problem is on your end.
The app is excellent , but there is a glitch if you dont have a tv provider. You dont get the back archives from the season. I just recently cancelled my service with Directv. Since then I have a problem accessing the past season's games and the playoffs, I didnt have this problem before. I can still access the past finals but not the current playoffs, I have to now buy the individual games.
The app is pretty buggy and the purchasing of single games doesnt work well. There is no picture-in-picture to watch games which should be added. The UI is not very user friendly. I do like the features but they must be improved a lot.
First I've subscribed to NBA league pass weekly, then I wanted to switch to monthly so I followed the instructions to upgrade my plan. Now, I end up paying both weekly and monthly NBA league pass, and when I what to cancel, there is no freaking cancel button! I mean would wanna pay 2 NBA league passes?!
I have to restart the 2 or 3 times just to start watching a game. Casting the video is really bad many times the audo isnt in sync and after a short time it just freezes and I have to restart it all over again. I have League Pass and im just sad that the app seems to not have solved it
While watching full games, There is frame drops every 2 seconds on the tv at 100MBit network. This is annoying. But watching highlights or recap is perfect. If I use xbox app, i can watch without frameloss. There is a problem in this android app.
I cannot believe some of the decisions that went into making this app (as well as the website). For example, why does the app continue to try and spoil every final score? If I hide the score, the app suggests videos with titles that show who won.... WHY IS IT EVEN AN OPTION TO SHOW THE FREAKING SCORE? I cannot tell you how many times I have waited all day to watch a game, just for it to be spoiled as I log on to this app.
The service is okay, but I'm subscribed to the "Team Pass" for one team's regular season games, and I've been getting charged in full the last two months after the regular season is already over. Refused to refund when I requested it. Not happy.
Seems I have the same problem as others, constant drop outs when casting and completely out of sync with the audio. I have the latest version of the app. This never used to be a problem. Please fix
Unfortunately the app won't cast audio for more than 20 seconds in the background before shutting off entirely, and also won't show up on your devices media player, so you can't pause and resume from the notifications tray. Will update review when this issue is fixed. Edit: thank you for the quick response, I submitted a ticket. Best regards. Edit: all playback issues fixed and the customer support was very prompt!
