Updated review: reduced to 1 star. App is no longer usable as it no longer allows the use of any other app (web browser, texting, etc) while streaming live audio and now requires that the screen remain on with the app displayed (cannot be minimized) for the same. This is obviously intentional and super disappointing since this was my go-to, but now I can't use it as I both need my phone for other things while I'm listening, and won't be burning out my screen just for this app.

I'm ready for video streaming to stop jumping during play. I also watch content on YouTube when available (which doesn't skip), but when it is not, it makes me sad to have to watch through this app due to incredible skipping that has been around for years.

Update 4/15/22: app stops frequently, will not play audio for more than 2 minutes. Even in good cell ceverage areas, audio keeps cutting out and the audio has delays and echos. The volume during commercials is significantly louder than the msnbc audio feed, and some commercials even double the volume level of previous commercials (the McD corp must pay extra, because those commercials are very, very loud). Due to these issues, which are getting worse, I am looking for alternatives to this app.

The latest version doesn't not work correctly, it's unusable. The pictures are distorted and the written content is not rendered correctly.

Just starting this week the audio cuts out after a few minutes when listening to the live feed. I normally use this every morning when I'm getting ready for work and it's impossible to use and extremely frustrating to have to keep restarting. Please fix this!

This used to be my go to news app, but suddenly over the past few days won't work at all! Deleted and reinstalled to no avail!

Can't understand how to use it, don't see Meet the Press, but there are several Fox links. Not what I was looking for!

When you watch a nightly News full episode it'll play halfway through and then starts it all over again don't even see that second half of it this app has been broken for so long and whoever develops this app is absent or something. Get a new developer.

App won't load, even after I uninstalled and reinstalled, and after my internet service provider resolved an issue and my internet connection is working.

The developers keep screwing up. This app gets worse with every update. Terribly slow to load.

I actually Like this app, except for their ads, which cover text of articles as I'm reading with NO way to get rid of the overly large ads. I have to close the app and miss the article to remove them.

Better... NBC News App; the one existing news app widget with the content & size ( somewhat ) adjustable. As the best Network News App Widget... It is also,... "more" flexible and capable of news subject changing and does have a sync-ability of content of data...

Good content, horrible app. There is a buffering problem not found on other video apps. Very frustrating to try to watch when the sound pauses all the time and then repeats normal speed, and then pauses. This constant stuttering is not being fixed. I don't have this problem with any other video apps. +++ three years later, and several updates, the buffering problem remains.

Why is it so hard to find Meet the Press every Sunday? Today I went thru every possible story & no mention of Meet the Press. Tired of hunting for it every week.

The app is good, but there are two drawbacks: 1. While the content is relevant, it does notify you with any speed, making this app less ideal for breaking news. 2. Clicking on the story from your notifications doesn't always route you to that exact story in the app. That's annoying because then you have to manually click around until you find it. Otherwise, it is a very decent app. Fixing those issues would make it great.

I love NBC News,but please fix the audio on video playback. It constantly skips and goes out,then fixes itself. It happens on every story I try to watch. I've updated and it is still not working. i have been complaining about this for so long,and it looks like im not alone. the videos don't play without skipping. I don't understand why this has not been fixed yet its almost August of 2019. i just saw someone complain as recently as June. This is unacceptable. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!!

I like NBC News. But the newest version 10/2018 took away all the features I look for in a news app - the ability to quickly scan headlines, sort/display by category, read a brief news summary then open a video or in depth article. Now only big video frame and Giant font headlines for 2-3 screen swipes. No Menu to choose or sort. Written features are hard to find. Not the App for me anymore.

The content of the app is great and I have no complaints; however, the fact that there is no option to save an article either from the notification level or once reading an article inside the app is very frustrating. That, combined with the screen timeout issue described by others and the lack of a traditional search function makes finding or returning to a specific article quite cumbersome. Would be a 5-star app if not for these issues.

The thing about news is people like it timely, CLEARLY and honest. Two of these three needs are met, but trying to finish an article is impossible as the screen blacks out when scrolling past an AD (go figure), removing clarity. I tried to use feedback to address the issue but the tab doesn't work at all, unless you want to share the app, because that tab works fine. Guess I'm looking for a new news app

2.5 stars... Great when it works, BUT CONSTANT INTERRUPTIONS are maddening! Also, app used to have sticky bar in pull-down notifications w/ pause & resume buttons which disappeared several updates ago. Have to stop what you're doing in another app or after a call to resume play, which is very often because of all the interruptions. Bring back the buttons! Lastly, I dont have the most stable WiFi or 5G, but most of the time, CNN app still works when NBC app doesn't. Please address! Thank you.

I have but one qualm with this app, for which I must take away one star. Anytime my screen turns off, or open a different app in front of it, it always defaults back to the front page and I lose the article that I was in the middle of reading. I'm rarely able to read an entire article in one go due to ADHD, and it's real frustrating to turn on my screen after it times out, only to find myself back on the front page. Fix this, and I'll give it that fifth star.

This used to be a 5 star app, but not anymore. The issue is that when you lock your screen, or when you switch to another app and come back, the news feed refreshes. If you were reading a story, the refresh kicks you back to the main screen. Then you have to find the story again in the feed to finish it. This is extremely annoying and happens very often. It wouldn't be so bad if this app had a history function like the previous version did, but they took that away. Please fix this!

Edit 2022. Latest app version opens to splash screen and remains there. Changed to 1 star and uninstalled. While I am grateful for the existence of the app, it is really bothering that it always hangs after a longer period of listening and multi-tasking. It the only app on my phone that becomes unresponsive, and it happens regularly.

I like the news coverage but recently the app inexplicably stops or takes a long time to load causing me to uninstall and reinstall constantly. Fix this and you'll get 5 stars.

I love that they keep me up to date when so much of the way we see tv these days is streaming that can keep us from seeing anything real for weeks on end if not months. I'm happy to have found them and never going to let them go now. It's nice to have my brain back.
