Reliable~ this app is functional but it's not like one of the top three banks in America banking apps are. It is robust in that you can get your own credit score. Making payments in this software is referred to as a transfer. In general I can get the job done with the app without using USPS for a payment but it is not in sync with the top two banking company's software.

**Update** I find it much easier to make an online payment now even though I don't bank with NBT currently. It used to be that they did not support payments from non-nbt accounts or save payment data. Now they do. I still think the app is clunky but the improvements and responsive customer service are enough for 4 stars instead of the previous 2 stars.

I had to update this... app is now 1-star. I cannot do mobile deposit because the image capture fails to move beyond the back capture. So,, I can never deposit my checks. Moreover, the app asks me to verify my identity to get into the app through a text message code. Well, you have to back out of the app to get the code, so i have to resign into the app which nullifies the code... so I can't sign in. In addition, the app still has a brutal layout with insufficient space between icons/buttons.

Mostly a good app. I am a bit disappointed in how long it takes transactions to show up. Many times the balance does not match the transactions. This is usually due to pending transactions that do not list in the app, so i have to guess what they are. Fix that and i will change to 5 stars.

Although much of the newly designed app is okay, the main thing I use the phone app for is to deposit checks remotely. For that, this new version is horrible. It continually errors out, indicating the photos aren't acceptable. Sometimes five or six tries will finally get it to accept the deposit, but at other times it just completely fails. I can see the images clearly, and they look fine ... why can't the app? The old app, which would focus itself and automatically snap the picture for you, very rarely failed, and was far, far superior. Please bring back the old photo-taking function of the nice little app you had before you "upgraded" your system! I am going to have to run to the bank just to deposit one tiny little check, totally defeating the entire purpose of having a mobile app.

Absolute trash. I am so frustrated with this app. Ever since the last update the only way I can access my account is to change the password. Every. Single. Time. Even if it's 5 minutes later it comes up with an error Same issue with online Whether it's biometric or manual password entry. I tried calling the help line and was on the phone for 45minutes and didn't get anyone. I have un/re installed the app 6times. No resolution. It makes me want to change banks and I've been with NBT for 8 years.

App stops / crashes a lot. Now, instead of crashing, I'm getting an error message: application not supported. I uninstall the app, restart my phone, reinstall the app and I get the same message. This happens WAY TOO MUCH! Update: various errors still occur. Much of the time I get an error that says "try back later". Very frustrating and useless if I can't use the app.

The new version no longer auto-snaps for check images. That was a handy feature because my phone is in a flip cover and it's a challenge holding the cover out of the way while trying to hold it steady and trying to tap the screen to take the picture. Also, I had hoped they would streamline the account selection dropdown for deposits. I have only one account that I can deposit into, that one should be automatically selected.

Was fine before. It's different, but at least it works (finally). The constant request to confirm or edit your phone number on file at the top of the page gets a little annoying. When we've already confirmed, it should disappear. I noticed we have to put in our user ID every time we log in now whereas before all I had to do was enter my password. Not a big deal but an extra step nonetheless. I'm glad to have an app for my banking as I don't have a PC & my laptop is about 100 years old.

Looks pretty sure. Too slow all around. All the extra lace with the added lag of loading graphics. Unnecessary "upgrade", fixed an unbroken app to make it slower. Pop up dialogs, discreet drop down menus are all garbage. The fonts now make my screen full immediately. I don't know why these changes were made. It was fast, simple, and straight forward. Now the login takes forever and I have to scroll down on every page. Fire millennials, get Gen X to design. Keep it simple. Less=more.

This app used to be so much more user friendly for depositing checks. You used to be able to just center the check in the screen and the app would automatically take the picture. Now you have to rotate the camera but when you do that the keyboard comes up and obstructs all the fields so you can't see what you're typing. Bad design. And to be even more frustrating the app has been down a few times recently

Using NBT's web based services is pretty much the equivalent of using government web based services. It is always lacking and clunky. I've had problems not only with this app in the past but also with the desktop website. It seems like every time NBT overhauls either they just end up having more issues. This last overhaul has me locked out. It is asking me for user verification. Which I try to provide l. It just keeps locking up. I do the majority of my banking online it's time to change banks

Very frustrating when trying to deposit checks. I have had to uninstall and reinstall multiple times because the app crashes and closes during photo capture. It only started when they upgraded their photo capture to be automatic. Called customer service and they said no one else was having an issue with this which I find hard to believe and feel gaslighted about.

I got this app about a month ago. Very excited I could just go and click and see you instead of calling the 1-800 number. Absolutely terrible. The app hasn't Works since I used it two weeks ago. It's always crashing I send reports it does nothing honestly I think they should just take it down if it doesn't work. On top of that deposits transactions are not updated in real-time. I got scared because I just got a $900 paycheck but it didn't say it deposited in my account until the next day. sad

This is a very helpful app. It's so much easier than having to go to a ATM or something. The only thing that I don't like is that the app kicks me off it alot and I have to uninstall it and re install it once in awhile. And it also doesn't load all transactions made sometimes. It doesn't show up till way after. I've went to check transactions and it not have everything. But other than that. It's helpful.

NEVER can I log in using my correct username or password. only through browser. this is frustrating. the app is absolutely useless. I'm actually consider closing my account with NBT because I've had nothing but a terrible experience since the day I set up my account less than a month ago (they sent mail to an address I never provided to them, they randomly changed my address without my confirmation, customer service has been rude, the list goes on). I wouldn't recommend NBT to anyone!

New update, but still have to submit a check deposit multiple times until it works. Also can't deactivated the biometric since it does not show me my device connected. Also in this new update when you are depositing a check it takes the pictures automatically so you don't have much time to line it up, so you end up using the retake option that is handy, however it would have been much easier if it give you more time to line up your camera.

Much improvement since the previous version of the app. Still not quite on par with apps from larger banks like Capital One, but at least I'm able to initiate transfers and have them work consistently. In the past I had to initiate external transfers from the receiving bank because NBT app would decline the transfer. It works now! Yay!

Not a fan of the mobile app. Your balance is always up to date, but not the transaction. The transactions don't show for days later. So if you have money taken out thats a mistake, you won't know what it is for days later to fix it. Also it seems on early Sunday mornings your balance is always messed up. It shows that you have much less money in then you do. Then a few hours later its fine. Like the bank.... the app needs work.

The app is helpful but also deceiving it doesn't tell you exactly when you spend something it takes a day or two. Pending transactions should pop up immediately so its inconvenient, and the balance fluctuates up and down which messes you up if you check your balance at the wrong time. It should never reflect money you dont have in there and it does.

Updating my review, giving 3 stars instead of 1. the issues in the new update have been fixed, mostly. Hate hate hate the new layout. It takes forever to log in now, the app doesn't save my username anymore. Half the time it needs to send me a text before I can even log in, which is very inconvenient. And the website has the same exact layout now. I miss the old website and app setup, it was so much easier to use.

Have written to NBT and got no help. They just say it works on their end. I lost it and really gave them an ear full. But to no avail, seems they just don't care. Time to find a new bank! But first I gave it one more try, downloaded it and made a deposit, worked gr8! Can't tell you how happy I was, I was, because the next day when I tried to make another deposit, it went crazy on me. for 2 hours it kept telling me to retake the photo! uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing. Back to square 1.

Most things work as they should except for mobile deposits. Sometimes the deposits go through with no problems. Other times, the app logs me out after taking the check images. Usually this takes 3-4 tries to get a check deposited. Very time consuming and frustrating.

Fix your app. Transaction for money coming out takes over a week to show up. Balance is always off, and now I cannot get in to the app. Says application not supported. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. It doesn't work. I live a half hour away from closest bank. I don't want to have to drive there just to transfer money or deal with accounts

I've had this app for about 6 weeks and it has only worked for 5 weeks. When it does work, it's a good app. Most of the time it shuts down prior to getting to the login. So you have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Then you log in just for it to tell you your correct username and password is incorrect. You then get locked out of not only the app but your account on any platform. So now I have to call support, where they are friendly at least, but it takes forever. I will likely switch banks.

Literally garbage now. Had to totally uninstall and reinstall, which during a big upgrade is common. That's fine. Now I can't log in. Called customer service, told me I just put in my login ID and select forgot password then follow the steps. (Because apparently you have to change that for it to work for you now. ) And it just brings me to a "Webpage unavailable" page. Can't even transfer from my checkings to savings over the automated services anymore either.

App is fine when it's actually working. I feel like half the time I go to log in I get an error because the app is down. My only other issue would be the check picture taking. It is super touchy and hard to work. We used to have TD and theirs was so easy and smooth compared to NBT.

The update is awful. This is third time, that I am having trouble depositing my check. I am stuck on the picture section. I keep aligning my check right but it keeps rejecting. I wrote two review like this last year, when it first got updated. I seriously miss the other mobile version, super easier to use. I don't have the availability to go deposit my check in person.
