Have been using this app for a few years now on my various devices. The controls can be a bit difficult, especially with games that require multiple buttons to be pressed (e.g. Rune Factory series). Some games have provided problems, such as ACWW (playable, but graphics get weird). And I've had trouble with some games launching. However, this is a solid, ad-free, free ds emulator that has given me few problems and has allowed me to enjoy games I would've otherwise never played or returned to.
Its great to play games on, you will need to play with settings a bit to get the best game quality. An issue I've been noticing is that while playing Pokemon Black, when doing a double battle, it glitches. It is very annoying and also at times, the app just won't open. I hope these issues can be resolved cause overall, I like the app.
Full screen support, auto save, touch pad toggle... All awesome. What's not? The app shuts down by itself randomly without warning and without auto saving all your progress you expected the auto save to do even after seeing it frequently. I would tolerate this if the app itself wouldn't keep closing itself and killing the process without warning.
Really good and stable, most reliable I've found so far. Performance is a bit slow, but devs have acknowledged this and is probably a long term fix. The frame rate just about works, slows down the more mobs/sprites there are on screen. Would also benefit from a double speed button to speed up game pace (FF Tactics A2 rounds are a bit slow with the length of the animations). Overall looking forward to enjoying some nostalgia and finding some new titles.
Good but if only the back button would show the app settings instead of backing out from the program. There are a few DS games where only touch is required and the button layout can sometimes get in the way so I hope this gets fixed. Other than that, the app is amazing and is also free of ads.
The best emulator for Android, it works so smoothly and all of it's pros (free, no ads, runs smoothly 90% of the time) absolutely outweigh the cons (occasional crashes). I would definitely recommend it. I don't know why there are so many one star reviews. I think it runs really well.
My experience was minimal, as I couldn't even load a game. Sure, it lasted maybe a minute, but if you try to press the "touch" button to hide the enormous controls, you'd be left with a dissapointing "nds4droid has stopped" pop-up, and then you'd have to close and re-open the app once more, just for it to do it another time. It's honestly a complete waste of time, and I wished I didn't even try to download it
Its good! Definitely because its the only DS emulator that worked for me.However, I'm giving it four stars because the emulation is pretty slow. It closes itself at times but I think that's ok cuz there's an Auto Save function. Also I got a little problem with the game files, I created 2 different files of AC on diffrnt folders. But even though they are on diffrnt folders, they startred sharing the same progress which messed up my game real bad.... But all in all, this is a good emulator
Works pretty well, the only thing I'd wish for would be a haptic feedback option that actually works (maybe my fault if it's technically available, but my other emulator (GBA) makes it work so idk) and a speedplay 2x option. Other options like skipping frames and the loading etc are very well executed. Seems to me like the only DS Emulator App that does the job for me. Thank you for this app.
The game worked flawlessly! I was surprised at graphics and how easy it was to move! It was fast for a free emulator! ...Until i saved and left... the game kept on crashing and wouldn't load my files. Every time i opened up one of my nds files i used before, the app crashed. I uninstalled and reinstalled again and again but it never seemed to work.
Biggest plus is NO ADS, unlike most other free emulators in the app store. It lags a bit, but that's the case with every app like this, and it is perfect for point and click games like Phoenix Wright, which I replay every few months. This is the only one I ever use, never had any problems.
It works, but the input tiles (dpad and buttons) are noticeably difficult to deal with. With it being either too stretched or too squeezed (I also used this on a Samsung Tab s6 lite). There is also no haptic feedback which is manageable, but combined with the previous problem becomes a little unbearable. I'd recommend lemuroid over this.
This is pretty good for what its worth. The ocasional glitchs and sound bugs are rare and don't really bother me that much, what bothers me is that my keyboard controls arent responding and I can play the games. Also I would like it if you could use a controller, I tried using my ps3 controller which has a usb, but it could only register one of the buttons and the joysticks plus the d-pad. over all its okay, but it is good enough. Just fix the controls issue please.
Make the controls easier to customize. A big problem on this emulator -you can't change the size of the buttons so it really gets in the way it just overlaps onto the screen. Another problem on here is that you can't move the top screen or bottom screen AT ALL, i tried it many times throughout the entire settings but there is no solution, please fix this.
Back when I had a Galaxy Core Prime, this emulator was by far the best option I could go for. No ads, smooth gameplay, though with some weird sound desync. I now have this on my Honor 8x and... it's just not the same... If you have an older phone, DEFINITELY use this app. It soars above all others. But if you have a newer model... You're not so lucky. Low fps now plagues the app after my phone updated. But I will tolerate it due to how bad other emulators are.
I used this app for about ten hours but I had to give it up because it is a buggy mess. It crashed constantly and had occasional visual glitches that made the game unplayable. It's free, but it's barely functional. I would avoid it unless you're desperate for a free emulator with no ads.
For having no ads. People see only the crashes and trouble but would you do better without monetary motivation? No. This app is awesome (especially because it's the only working free nds emulator and I gave up on trying to get the license check on drastic to just foff). Fantastic app, hope there will be many more of those.
(47) This (android) DS emulator isn't the fastest (25% speed for me, no matter what settings I use), but it's free, no ads, & open source. Also, I haven't had any problems with any games. I do wish that it was updated & not abandoned, but the others are just a bunch of ad stuffed, expensive wannabes.
It's good to play ds games on it but it's buggy with the save files, I was so far into a game I made a save file then loaded it the next day and it just brought up a white screen and I had to restart from the start all over again :/ Other than that it's great to play ds games with and its a good emulator for being free.
I can deal with the lag no problem and i dont normally play my games with sound on so thats not an issue for me either. However the constant crashing and then taking 8+ time reopening to get the games back up and running is rediculous. i really want to play my ds games but i dont think this is the app to do it.
It works for most of the games. But the emulator crashes every 2 to 3 minutes. Also not able to increase the execution speed after a limit (which is not at all fast).Overall it's good. It will be the top emulator if u fix these things.
It's ok overall but there are times when it lags very often like leaving the app and continuing from where you left off at. Oh and it crashes if you run into a glitch. And I forgot to save and lost alot of my data and had to restart from the beginning. But overall it's pretty decent.
It's a great emulator with great options, especially for a phone app. For me, games run great and look great and the customisation options do everything you'd need them to do. The only rather negative part, is the missing native support for 18.5:9 displays, like for the Samsung S9.
Meh. It was incompatible with the majority of ROMs I've downloaded so far; except Pokémons Black and White and Mario 64, but when it can run it it works pretty well. I tweaked some of the settings they have to help it run faster, however I'm unsure whether making changes will need to be on a game to game basis. If you have an XBOX or PS4 controller you should attempt hooking it up to your phone because it makes the experience a lot smoother for this and other emulators.
