N.B. See update below. Would be great, if it worked...We love our vacuum cleaner but the app is dreadful. Constant problems with connection. We have wasted many hours trying to get it to work. It will suddenly connect and work for a few days, then nothing. Such a shame as the hoover itself is very good. UPDATE: All the connection problems were resolved when we upgraded the wi-fi signal in the house with access points. It would have been v. helpful if the app could have identified the problem.

This app is highly frustrating! I have tried to edit the floor map to keep the robot from going into certain areas. There is not a successful way to do that. When googling how to do that, I find that I must reprogram the robot to make a new map. Still there has been no way to keep it from getting under the one side of the bed that is high enough for the to sensor to clear, only to get stuck-daily-as the other sides are ever so slightly too low for the sensor to clear. The red line hasn't worked.

The app is OK I haven't had a huge issue but I sent an email requesting neato to update the app and vacuums. Multiple zone cleaning (to clean only certain rooms not just one zone or the whole floor plan, map navigation error update (if a shoe or a piece of furniture moves or shows up, the vac will not run near base), bug fixes, vac progress, nogo line update, new features in general. The vacuum is a solid piece of work I've had it for almost 3 years and love it. Just wish it was updated.

This app is meh. The schedule setting is finicky and likes to reset and delete every once in awhile. Also, the floor plan gets navigation errors quite often, so I have to have re-learn the floor once every few months. Other than that everything works great! Now app will not display if anything is running or not. You can still turn it on and off through the app.

Dropping from two stars to one. This is for both the app and the product. Vacuum repeatedly ceases to run schedule whenever there is a slight change in the room (e.g. chairs moved or a box on floor). Have to repeatedly remap the house. This works for about 1 week before it starts having issues again. When it works, it does a fine job, but it doesn't work more often than it does. App is now unusable, says it needs an update, but no update is available. Can I still get a refund?

Minimalist screen interface with no information about how to do a lot of required activities. Still can't figure out how to mark off areas as not to be vacuumed and how to set up a region. No really accessed help. 4/22/2022 update This app just needs redesign. There are so many complaints. You try your hardest to be helpful but the big issue is you need a new, intuitive app.

Been using this for 4 years. Only downside, was that i once had to a re pairing and recreate the profile. Unknown if it was an app issue, personal wifi or robo software on the D3, but bugs happen. App has no-go lines that are easy to set with zoom function and "fat fingers". Schedule is a little off where it starts a few minutes prior to setting, again it's unknown if this is app or robo related. App also has different error messages displayed. Likely varies from robo versions.

Can't pair the Botvac D5 model at all, so at the moment app is totally useless. Always says "list of Wi-Fi networks is not available. Please select back and perform this step again." Of course doing so does absolutely nothing. There is a possibility of manually typing in a network name instead, after which it waits 3 minutes then tells the connection failed. Pairing mode on the robot itself is enabled, and I can see the Neato wi-fi when viewing Wi-Fi networks list in the Android connection settings.

It's like asking a 7 year old to vacuum the house. Not terribly accurate, thorough, or reliable. Frequently has fits od amnesia and can't find floor plan that hasn't changed in a year. No reset button or command for this bot. Sometimes and unplug kinda, sorta helps a little. Mechanically it's nice. Interface needs serious work.

The app randomly changed all the days and times in my cleaning schedule. So I deleted all the days and tried to start from scratch. Now the app won't let me schedule an everyday routine. I'm beyond over it. I have a D7 that I bought right before the new vacs were released. I should have an app that is updated frequently and I should have access to the new app! Not just an app that was last thought about in 2019. For the price of these vacuums I should have top of the line technology!

I don't normally leave app reviews, but the app is rather quite good and I do not see why people say it is rather difficult to use. Yes the app has not been updated in a while (I always judge apps on their last update). But it works well and the vac does a fantastic job. There is definitely room for more features and improvements but it does the job as hoped and a little bit more! [Edited] after about two years the app has not evolved and the robot has not got any better regarding navigation.

The manual mode has never worked. Always says the robot needs to be connected to the same wifi network. It is connected to the same network. Mapping mode has never been able to complete a run on our floor, thus zone cleaning is completly useless. So this app only seems to provide a way to start and stop the bot remotly, and for neato to have a copy of your home floorplan.

Still no update ..Update the app and D3 firmware. The app is horribly glitchy. Scheduling auto clean doesn't work correctly. Keeps seperating the dates into different schedules, and the app is changing the times. Also, turbo and eco modes don't save. How has the last update been since July 2019? Please fix ASAP. A customer who paid for a product with stated features that do not appear to work.

Hit and miss and now defunct. This app has always been a bit temperamental, or maybe it's Robin that's temperamental, either way, it's fantastic when it works, and incredibly frustrating when it doesn't. At the moment, sometime after first getting our new family member, the app is telling me it needs to update - only, there's no update. What's more, on my previous phone (iPhone) the app is not demanding an update, but, also not connecting to Robin (this isn't a new problem, it happens often)

Please update your products. A lot of other companies update their products over time. This company is you get what you get. For example this app hasn't been updated in over two years. The D7 doesn't like any changes when it starts up in map mode. If a chair 2 feet away has been moved a foot away from it, it will give a map navigation error. I have called customer service and they want me to pay to service this when and update could be pushed out to fix this.

Loved my D3 when I first got it. It wasn't much of a problem to reconnect if needed. Now however, when I try to factory reset the robot and update the app, it will not update. So I can't use the no go lines and have a robot I can only start and stop and it goes everywhere I don't want it to. Contacted customer support. They said it was a problem they know about on their end and are working on it but weeks later and I still can't update. I sure do miss Alfred.

I don't get why this is so low - most of the time it works which is on par with most apps that work with smart devices It's pretty easy to mark off no go areas & sections - I'm sure they have plenty of upgrades in their backlog but still ... this is a pretty good app in our multiuser multi-Neato household It makes our lives easier especially with dogs Now if only Neato would do a self-cleaning model - their cleaning algo & device shape is better at the cleaning bit than other devices (I've tried several) so hoping they come out with self-cleaning model

Disgusted and frustrated. The D4 runs great for weeks, then can't connect to wifi, multi hard resets, reconnecting, recreating the floor plan all to no avail. The Android app is trash, hasn't been updated since 2019 and it's just not feasible to constantly reach out to customer support. My only option at this point is to run on manual. The bot is great and cleans well, but why did I pay the extra for 'connected' if it can't actually connect? Looking for a replacement is on the to-do list.

This is my 2nd neato. The original is still running strong after 7 years. I got the D7 for the maps & scheduling. The robot cleaning doesn't overlap the map & it often gets lost in one of the rooms. It's like it was lifted up and moved, but it wasn't. My biggest issue is the schedule. It stopped letting me adjust the times: it changes the days of the week when I save & sometimes moves the hours when I save. Recently the app isn't showing when the D7 is running, so I can't pause, stop, or dock.

I am unimpressed with this app. It tells me I can do all sorts of things but fails to deliver. Despite doing two mapping runs I still cant work out how to bar it from certain areas or tell it to clean certain areas. I can do the whole house floor with no problem and a good job it does but sometimes you want the kitchen doing but! The whole thing needs some serious work.

I've had so many problems with this app and the top of the line Neato vacuum over the years. It was the most expensive mistake I've made. The app kept saying the device had to remap the whole floor, which takes several hours. It kept failing. Support was sot the quickest, but they would eventually reply and unfortunately they were never helpful. They'd always repeat the same things over and over about how important cleaning is, how to reset the device, "just try mapping one more time", etc.

The concepts are awesome, but the execution is poor If your floorplan mapping is interrupted or changes, you have to start over. This could take hours. Zone scheduling is buggy. It may, or may not save the correct parameters. You have to keep trying until it saves correctly. This should not have made it past Neato's quality control testing.

I like the new features on the app, but the robot seems to lose it's way around the house and gets stuck in one spot trying to get around simple areas. Doesn't clean the whole house. Skips areas. And loses it's way back to its base. Will head in the opposite direction. Would like the app 10x better if I could directly control which way I want it to.

Works great but has a breaking limit. If I try to add a combination of zones and no-go lines that exceed 11 in total, I get a timeout error. The error only flashes up for a moment and if I back out it looks like all my changes have been saved, but voice commands for any zones exceeding that 11 will not work correctly. The only other thing that would have been nice is the ability to tell the robot to go and clean just a group of zones on the schedule.

Sometimes the vac disconnects from your wifi and it's a bit of a pain to get everything set up. Wish there was a spot clean otherwise I'm really only using the app to start a clean. The vacuum itself cleans very well. It's just frustrating to see it drive by dirty spots instead of prioritizing them (again back to the whole I wish you could pick certain spots to prioritize). Otherwise, last complaint, it has trouble with elevated/sloped surfaces. For instance, I have an Ikea chair that has a giant flat foot and it occasionally gets stuck so I typically take everything off the floor, but I might be exaggerating with that. Despite all this, it's still a better vacuum based on reviews so no regrets simply because it does a great job cleaning!
