Connections not long term stable. You set it up and it's works well for a while. Then it stops. Phone size connected but no data transmission. This can be when you are at home and the phone has not moved position. So regrettably I will be deleting app. Seems like a gift idea but I'm not technically at a level to try and debug
After looking at the Intra privacy policy I decided to try and find another app that serves the same purpose. That's when I stumbled upon Nebulo and I haven't looked back. You can use both DoH and DoT and switch between them easily. The query log and advanced settings are a bonus. All around great app and I recommend it to all my friends.
Tried this app and it did work, does its job. I can browse the web fast, secure and private, maybe? Lol, i don't know, i ain't a tech savvy. The downside is that the app consume too much battery power and it slowing down my phone while i browse the internet. Connection its fine and its fast, but damn my phone is heating up like a microwave. Good app nonetheless, it has no ads and open source.
I honestly feel that this app deserves more than 5 stars because their are so many VPN apps that are false advertising and are supposed to be "free" or "ad-free" only to be frustrated after the download. Nebulo is the complete opposite no ads and you really don't have to pay anything. I will never need or choose another app again. Thanks for actually caring about your audience so much that you guys spoil us. Keep it up 💪👍👌
I have been using the normal DNS changer app from this developer for quite a long time now so when I saw this new Secure DNS version of the app, I had to give it a try. What can I say, it's simple and it works. I love the fact that you can pick from a list of the popular providers and then the app does all the work for you. Having the pin protection is great as I will be upgrading the DNS app on my kids tablets with this newer version. Great work and thanks for keeping it open source.
when it works - very good, zero issues. however app has problems starting on boot and also only *sometimes* restarting itself after connection drops and picks up wifi for example. this *could* be stunning but it needs a little more work on older handsets. still does not start on boot after many app updates or restart when it's set to
Excellent. Many features to protect your device. One the BEST FREE security apps. NO ADS! DNS Servers are tested for speed and listed and we'll deceived so you can make the smartest choice. Very small, non invasive. Explains settings throughly. Thank you developers!
It does what it describes. But unfortunately sometime it hanging, stuck when it works, longer to connect to some dns Dot n Doh or it took longer than previous versions when i used it on Android 7 n 10. Since now I'm moving permanently using android 10 with private dns internally so i must say goodbye to this app that I've used for more than a year. Thanks!
Does what it says! Needs to be made more kid proof. I am using it on older Android tablets that don't have native DoT support in the OS. I'd like to see the Pin function to work when disconnect is hit. Also a blanket domain override rule to a different server needs to be added. Otherwise this is excellent.
Coming from quad9 app and after a few weeks of use I consider this app to be very mature and feature rich. Time to time there are URLs that won't open, but that might be a DNS provider related. For lesser technical users - all defaults can be used without change, bravo Daniel Wolf! Please add an option to export DNS logs locally as a file and not only cloud sharing.
Only DNS changer I've found that has a non-VPN mode. Perfect when you want to use a VPN and have encrypted DNS at the same time. This is required when you're on a WiFi network where port 853 is blocked and Androids built in "Private DNS Mode (DNS over TCL)" doesn't work, you can use this with "DNS over HTTPS" instead, highly recommended!
A godsend. My phone is still Android 7 (Nougat), wasn't fortunate enough to get Android version updates at all by Xiaomi, and it haven't got any DNS over TLS functionality natively. I desperately needed it because my ISP is a huge jerk, redirecting and hijacking web requests for websites that they don't like (like Reddit and other sites), and forcing transparent DNS. This nullifies any of their hijacks and injections! This works flawlessly GREAT. Thank you so much!!!! 💓
It doesn't work for me. I am android 6.0.1. It blocks my Internet connection to Google app store and the Firefox browser when enabled. In app status I just get -- for speed etc. I tried different DNS servers. The app looks impressive though. Thank you. Zephyr
"The User Interface is as intuitive to navigate as the features and quality which are built-in to each system module. An abundance of options, for incidental occurances, and skillfully overcoming an XML design feit! What a beautiful way to program! Congratulations, Nebulo proves succesful!" –Zac Thibodeau
Does not appear to be tunneling requests correctly When connecting to CloudFlare through DoH, despite the app supposedly intercepting requests and sending them the router still redirects the requests to OpenDNS, causing the app to not work. The standard private DNS feature in Android 9 does not have this problem.
Great design. But there is a bug with pin protect. When it asks for pin you can just press the Square 'overview button' on your Android phone and you can access it without putting in pin.
This was a life saver!. Although I'm in android 12 our ISP started blocking DoT connections. So, my only solution was DoH. Thus, it was a great help to use this app, especially with root!. Can't thank you enough. Much appreciated!.
Great concept. I've noticed Nebulo sometimes won't process any queries when running in non-VPN mode alongside NetGuard (F-Droid) and randomly stalls on reboots (Android 11). Other than that, it functions as described after restarting both apps
This is the app you need when all other dna changers fail. I only wish there was a way to not see Nebulo shortcut in the Android buttons pull down menu. And also a way to prevent VPN from being shut off. So its not a complete solution for a kid's phone.
It is so far a excellent program, but since it's only for changing DNS serves, may I suggest finding a way to get it too function with firewalls, some themselves vpn, but a very nice app.
Very convenient DNS customization, works nicely with my own caching and ad-blocking DNS over TLS server in the cloud. Cons: sometimes every completely of days, DNS Revolution breaks, restarting Nebulo fixed the problem.
there are times that I have to disconnect in order to get online. Some websitesit just throws you into a loop not able to connect because security reasons. But other than that it works great.
Just the right mix of options. Very stable. Can handle ipv6+ipv4. It self diagnosed when battery savers and other apps were messing with it's operation as well.
Seems like it should work, but I could not make it do so. Imported adaway default domain list and it showed it was active. Tried various dns servers. FAQ read. I'm missing something, obviously :/
It did not prevent traffic redirection from ISP. I tried all the settings. Good concept. Does not work. Https must not work anymore against isp redirects.
Really great app ! Has all the bells and whistels i could imagine ! Love every option i get ! Love that my dns is encrypted ! Love that i can cache the dns to make it even faster! Love that i can use an alternate option besides vpn and can exlude apps ! The developer should really branch out into other operating systems. Id love to see linux, windows, and an ios version !
This is a great app. very intuitive and lots of useful options. It does use a little more battery power but that's to be expected. Also I noticed on two different phones that it could fail to connect occasionally when it had been used for some days. Turning it off made the connection again. Clearing the app data and re-applying my settings seemed to fix it. If I notice this again, I'll do some checks to try and diagnose the problem.
