Neighbors by Ring

Not As Helpful As I Expected. Though it protects the identity of the user, it alsp protects the privacy of an actual location in a post. Hence, many posts seem vague and unhelpful because you can't see the actual street or location. Unless a user actually specifies in their post. I find community or neighborhood Facebook groups and pages to be more useful and informative.

Previously used the app for 2 years, when it was integrated into Ring...But their immoderate moderators have rendered it useless. Until recently, it was more informative and less drama prone than Nextdoor. Now, however, they blanket deny anything that isn't a missing pet or some Karen wigging out over fireworks. Video of a peeping Tom to give my neighbors a heads up? Denied. Turned out he was my neighbor's violent ex, stalking her- a LITERAL crime and "safety issue." Nice work, ya dinks!

Used to be integrated with the Ring app but for whatever reason no longer is. I just downloaded the app and all I have is a black screen. Can't click on the map, as it doesn't do anything, can't set my alert area either as I just get the black screen. Completely useless.

I don't post anything often but 90% of the posts I try to put up are denied & the explanation is too vague to figure out. Just tried to post an elderly lady on my property that could be lost/confused/etc and it was denied. I'm ready to trash my whole ring system to go with something else, the cameras are mediocre at best anyway.

App was good until I assume the last update, if I get a notification from the neighborhood I can open the app, if I go to the app without the said notification I have to verify my account EVERY time so annoying. I don't get why I need to verify anything as of right now I can't remember my F'N password because of said VERIFICATION

I appreciate the quick news/events/emergencies etc. Right in my neighborhood. I also like interacting with people who are close to my area. Kinda reminds me of the way my neighborhood was when I was growing up, like everyone mattered and showed concern, interest, and when needed support. I don't believe I will ever fully adapt to individuals pass each other and not speaking or at the least a head nod. Thanks for the great reflection and memories.

Was good when it was part of the ring app, I didn't know what happened to the neighbors it vanished without warning and after a month i found it requires a new app. Downloaded the App and nothing but a black screen. Sad that this is part of the ring experience and now its dead.

Two step verification 😡 it's not working properly it's not letting me verify through email anymore and it's not doing it through my phone when I go through account setting the screen goes blank set it up or updated for the Galaxy s21 please

What did they do to this app? My feed only contains one post. I've cleared all filters and zoomed out my coverage area to max. I live in a major city, so there should be more posts than this

Too much talking among themselves a registers, no clerks on the floors in the department. I went in every department on didnt see a clerks.The one register that was open the clerk was reading a magazine...I will take my money elsewhere.

Definitely a different experience. It's good to be able to communicate with neighbors. And give information that's needed. As well as received.

I had to re-review this app after this weekend. Someone lost their car keys on my street and I wanted to be neighborly so I posted it on well, neighbors and the post was denied. Thats so crazy. To the owner of the keys I tried. Thank neighbors for not allowing me to help you.

It started off well but has turned into a lost pet app. You have to scroll nonsense to see the important posts.

Awesome app.. Keeps you in tune with what's going on, and brings you closer to your neighborhood.

The post review team will not let me make a post about a woman illegally opening everyone's mailbox in the middle of the night. I got it on video but Ring refused to allow it to be posted on the app. What's the point in having a neighborhood watch app when you can't let your neighbors know about suspicious activity around your house. I guess they only allow gun shot reports and lost animal reports. This app isn't even worth 1 star.

This used to be a great feature in the ring app itself but this app doesn't show me anything and is just a black screen it only worked one time and thats was for like minuet please fix your app 😤

Yes great if it works, but if you post.. it doesn't show up for 48 hours and asks too many times over and over for "Verification" after continuous verifications...

This app used to be informative and useful, but it's taken a major downhill decline in the last few months. There's more posts about lost and found pets, but if you comment on a post about gunshots as to how the local police response to violent crimes is dismal, you will get a warning that you may possibly be censored. Yet another case for repealing Section 230 and sending the social media censors off to find another career.

You dont need my cell number. I used the app to check what is going on around the neighborhood but I don't want to get txt messages everytime someone posts a message about a stray cat. I don't own any Ring seviuso this is worthless to me now

This app is trash. There's so much going on in my neighborhood and it won't let me post this app only allows what they feel like it allowing so pretty much you can't be updated about your neighborhood because they refused to

Just ok. Can't ask the ring community anything. This problem needs to be fixed not very well put together o expected better than this. Reporting a problem can be a waist of time because they use moderators. Next door app is much better no incompetent gimiks there.

The incident map doesn't work. It shows the house icon and the rest of the map area is blue. It doesn't show any street names. I don't know if it's highlighting my neighborhood or the whole island. I'm not even sure if it's showing me the right planet. Edit: I figured out that yes, I am on Earth. For some reason the house icon is in the Atlantic Ocean just south of Ghana. My address is correct in my profile. I tried changing the settings, but the app won't let me. Edit 2: Gaaaaahhhhhh!!!

Even after re-downloading the app, the map still will not load no matter what I do, making the app useless.

This app is trash, I linked it to my ring account and now I cannot log in at all, just keep hitting the verify email but I haven't received any emails because it said I was good to go. When I sign out and sign back in it wants me to set it up again.

Well everything was fine, been a great app, then it just goes all over the place when you reload the page. After reloading it takes you back to post from months ago or weeks ago. Please fix this.

When trying to post incidents, alerts or anything that my actual 'neighbors' might find important, first you must submit your notice to Ring, then they determine if it's worthy of being posted (which takes forever) and IF (honestly a huge IF) by chance they approve it, well, it'll get posted at some point in the future. In other words, if something important is going on or your dog/cat/goldfish runs away, I highly suggest using a different 'Neighbors' app over Ring’s.

Its a mixture of interesting, upsetting and concerning emotions all together in one app. REAL VIDEO CLIPS OF YOUR NEIGHBORS DAILY INCIDENTS LIVING IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT. YOU'LL BE SURPRISED TO SEE ALL THE CRAZY $#-T HAPPENING AROUND YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

Wont work.. wont show map.. says check internet for post. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and checked my permissions and settings 100 times.

This app doesn't work at all and Ring doesn't seem the least bit interested in making it work.

Great app for even non-Ring users. I love seeing whats going on in ny neighborhood.
