NeoTV Remote

you are gonna need your remote to turn it on and program so you can use this remote. if already set up well maybe. but if you got a unit because it had no remote THIS IS NOT GONNA WORK FOR YOU YOU NEED TO SET IT UP FIRST THEN USE THIS STUPID IDEA. YOU SHOULD TELL PEOPLE THEY NEED TO HAVE THE REMOTE SET IT UP THEN LOSE THE REMOTE. JUNK JUNK JUNK

Need the original NeoTV remote in order to connect. This app is pointless without the original remote which is where I got the app to begin with because I lost my remote.

can't get it to work on my phone. I put in the IP address manually and it still does not work.

When I type in the IP Address it says it doesn't work. At this point idk what to do

In order to use this app, your box and phone have to be on the same Wi-Fi network. If you don't use a wireless network, you're pretty much screwed. I brought the box with me on vacation so I wouldn't be stuck with hotel cable, but I forgot the remote at home. I need the remote to connect to the hotel's Wi-Fi, but I need the Wi-Fi to connect the remote. I tried connecting with my mobile hotspot, but it says the ip is invalid. Oh well. I'll try again when I get home and re-rate if I can get it to work.

Its easy to set up and easy to browse. I really like that i can use my smart phone as my keyboard now instead of pushing 3,000 buttons on my remote just to spell a title of a movie or search, bad is that it doesnt have ability to turn off and on..BUT most likely for those who lost their remote and really need this ability there is a universal smart remote app to power on and off ur tv so just put the apps next to eachother so u dont have to get up and down to turn everything off and on.

I'm smart enough to know that my phone WiFi and the player have to be the same network, and I also lost my remote but by my sheer genius I realized that if I unplug my box and plug it back in than the power button issue is solved and I can use my great new phone app just fine. ... unless I feel like I'm better than everyone and having to get up and unplug/plug things in is just to mush hassle. .... get over it losers, this app is the poo.

That's one word to sum it up. The settings for Network IP are the worst. The app disregards private reserved IP allocations. So when connected on your home 192.168.x.x (or 10.x.x.x)network you will get an error: "Please enter valid IP address for your NeoTV" may I have a copy of the source I'll fix this issue. Until then people looking for a working NeoTV remote for an Android device check out "Google TV Remote"

Took seconds to get up and running. Could not find the device on my WIFI network but following the steps to get to the IP Address worked perfectly. The keyboard will definitely help. I love my NEOTV but the remote was not the best, this resolves beautifully.

Had my doubts since I've tried using remote apps before but this is by far the best ! Set up was fast and easy and buttons are easy to access. Absolutely love the keyboard which allows you to type directly to the search bar without any added hardware :D great product over all!

the app only works if your neotv is already connected to the internet. I tried to manually connect my device, but I can't scroll down to the settings menu (to either connect to WiFi or to find the IP address) without a remote. My phone is ready to connect, but there's no way I can communicate with the neotv (because I'm on a wifi network that's new to my device). It's an infuriating paradox. If I were able to get past this step, this app would probably work just fine.

This is pretty good. Here is why 3 stars. There should be a "do not show again" on the open page for connecting to the internet. The short cut menu is annoying and the slightest touch switches apps right in the middle of my show. Needs and option to close. The gestures and touch save this from 1 star. Fix those two things and it is a 5 star app.

Edit: well as I feared it was me... Just noticed the description says to use google TV remote for modle gtv100. Might want to put that at the top, Netgear, so dummies like me don't give you one star ratings for not reading every word of the description.

I had lost my netgear remote a while a go and now I'm glad I found this app so I can watch stuff

Tried with a galaxy s3 and HTC one. Can ping the IP from both phones and their on the same subnet and wireless net.

I like. Never have to worry about searching for another remote. I just hate that you can't used the app to power on and off.

My lg g3 will not connect to the gtv100 model neo tv. On the manual connect screen where the ip address is entered, the app will not accept the ip address as valid. So it does not work for me.

For all of u who think the app is crappy and u lost or control or whatever and can't turn on discount the box from the power supply and connect back and the box will turn on.

Tried several times to connect my phone (Samsung galaxy s3). Manual settings won't work either. If you lose your remote for this player, you are screwed, because this POS app will not work. Why can't you use Bluetooth settings to connect? The actual remote is Bluetooth. It would make more sense.

This app works exactly as it is intended. Everybody that is complaining about how it won't power on their device clearly do not understand how wifi works! Your device needs to be on in order for this remote to work. If your device isn't on its not receiving a wireless signal there for the remote will not work. An easy work around for the device not powering on option would be to go unplug your device and plug it back in.

I really like this app one of the best ones on the market in my opinion. Everything works great I really wish there was a way to turn it on with the app but since it's Wi-Fi kinda obvious why I can't. Anyways really good app thanks for making it

I lost my remote in the move 4 years ago, this app is great, it all depends on how strong the Wi-Fi is for how well the remote works that's all okay. 5 stars for being awesomeness

I'm not sure if you all was doing the setup right, but I lost my remote and I downloaded this app and it works great for me

I like the app, but I have touch sounds activated on my phone, a DROID Ultra, and whenever I use this app it disables that setting.

This application works great for everything! When the box powers down its a pain to have to unplug it. Please install a Power Button.
