NerdWallet: Credit Score, Budgeting & Finance

It's pretty good to view multiple banks, etc. provides a lot of useful information. Like all budgeting apps, it makes it very difficult to really understand how much money you have per-budget in a given month. It takes a lot of attention to categorize transactions. Symbolically putting money into savings is impossible. It does do a good job of showing top-line how much cash you have left at the end of a given month, which is not terribly relevant if you're trying to increase your savings.

Really sleek app with nice functionality. Other tools I've used are buggy connecting to other accounts, but this one is not. My one complaint is that you don't have the ability to add categories for transactions, so I have big spending areas like pets and home improvement all categorized under 'other.' Makes it tough to use this app for budgeting.

I've had a few descepency when verifying amounts with my accounts, for the most part it works great but today it shows my retirement account empty when it's not. But, I have actually invested in this company since downloading the app because I believe in the idea they are going for. I love the functionality and ease of use tracking my transactions to get an idea where my budget needs addressed. Once they get everything smoother safely it will and still is a very useful app.

Been doing fine for months, app, just completely went haywire, freezes, has my weekly savings transfers as Aldi, my car payment as Comcast, website working fine. My friend's is doing same thing. Says I've spent nothing as of first, which my 1600 rent came out on first, my car payment came out on first, but is under Aldi groceries. No updates on either android phone, tried uninstalling and reinstalling and has reacurring bills missing, and bills I paid months ago showing up,showing up as electric

I hate how it picks up your credit card usage but not your loan pay offs. You have to do it manually. It doesn't have very many options when adding your loans. It takes forever to update my spending and transferring. It takes forever to update anything really. It only shows vantage score for Transunion. What about the other 2? Fico scoring? Can't add my PayPal back to it after hiding it. I'm not extremely satisfied considering the great reviews I read. Please take a little more time on your APP.

This HAS BEEN pretty helpful for learning to budget on a limited income. The bills section has recently changed... it's buggy and no longer displays the dates they are due or the updated status of paid bills. Being that this was the main feature I used nerdwallet for, I'm going to have to look into a different bill tracking app, unfortunately.

I would love to see Nerdwallet add functionality for their app to recognize retirement account contributions (which usually are the same amount everytime, every month, every year) and transfers between accounts as one transaction (they are counted as two transactions). I almost never use Nerdwallet anymore because it is way too many buttons to press to change categories and update spending and too many miscategorized transactions that the app doesn't remember. Check deposits need a rework.

Good, but with quirks. For some reason, the last few months the app has kept adding an additional $50K to my net worth. That would nice if it were real money, but it's randomly adding values to my tracker making it fundamentally inaccurate and unusable. Clearing cache, uninstalling - none of that works.

Well, since the new update this app has become almost useless to me. I was using the app to keep track of my upcoming bills and when they were due. Now that section of the app shows all your bills but they are all mixed up. There is no rhyme or reason as to how they are listed. This is really my only complaint. So if this issue gets fixed I'll give you another star.

Recently the "upcoming bills" tab stopped working properly (it only shows the same thing as the "all bills" tab), which was the main thing I used the app for. Until then I was really enjoying it. I hope this gets fixed soon or I will need to find a new way to organize my bills.

Great idea, too clunky for me. Couldn't connect 2 of my accounts, even though they were listed. Tried to use their "contact us" form, but the form wouldn't submit and included at least 5 questions that were completely irrelevant to issue. I'd love to give it another try once it actually works for my accounts.

This, imo, is the best free budgeting app. By far. The only other good one is Mint, but it is owned by Intuit, which also owns Turbo Tax. I don't evade taxes, but I want my financial information to be as non-centralized as possible. Personal finance + all tax records in one place is too much. But anyway, NerdWallet has a few issues connecting to all varieties of banking accounts, but it is still the best. Great job!

Used to be great. They changed the bill section to not show due dates. And not have them in order of when they are due. What's the point of a bill tracker that doesnt keep track of when bills are due.

I want to love but it just doesn't work properly. I have 3 accounts that I can't get to stay linked (I've tried 10-15 times over the last couple of months). It automatically applies tags to your purchases which is great but it flags a lot of stuff as restaurants when they aren't. It's a pretty easy fix just very time consuming .

Love this app. Been looking for a financial overview app for a while. I can link all my financial accounts, cash, credit, investments, & savings. Real cool. However coinbase isn't available yet, so I have to crunch it in manually at least they give me that option. Frankly seeing my net worth in my face is what motivates me to increase it more than anything! Dope! The 1 complaint I have is, the loading time between screens is tedious, and accounts aren't updated in real time. Fix that!

unable to connect to some banks. not sure if it's an institutional thing or an app thing. other than that, it's great for adding bills and budgeting, seeing the total amount of money you own and owe, and when! also shows credit score, suggests loans and credit cards. I already recommended this app to others!

I'd like to give this app high marks, but it has no ability to add multiple accounts from the same bank to it. For example I have three separate login accounts for Citibank, yet the app only shows me the information for the first account I used to login with. The app will also just 'crash' randomly with a bad request message. Only way to fix it is to restart.

Great app! One simple suggestion: add the option to have an account hidden from cash flow only. Some accounts are relevant for net worth, but muddy up the cash flow.

The app doesn't give me credit for the credit scores that I have on file. Therefore the app itself is useless. Other than that they're just a bunch of nosy people trying to get in my business. I believe it's time to uninstall this app.

Really horrible they say they help people with building their credit score what they don't tell you is that their credit card options will deny you if your credit score isn't high enough then they wanna offer you a third party credit monortoring app like that is no help with building your credit score 100% a scam

This is a good app but 1 issues I have my chase couldn't update or my mortgage I had tried to relink with my phone and computer to relink and still wasn't able to connect. Seems to need an update with all the log in process. This would be 5 stars if they fix that and also add a debt to income ratio on one of the tabs since it links with your debt and manually add your income thru your accounts.

To link any account you have to provide a cell number. Don't bother with this app if you have VOIP cell provider (such as Republic wireless). It doesn't validate your number, rendering it useless.

I loved this app until it changed the Platform. I don't to have to relink all my accounts back up. I was able to track my bills and everything, now I can't. This sucks now!

This app was great, until I opened it today, and the upcoming bills part of the app no longer tells you the bills in order, or the due date unless you click on the bill. Fix this immediately!

I started with Credit Carma then tried app based credit tracking with Wells Fargo, Chase, Nerd Wallet, Mint, etc. They all have their own nuances. They're all very helpful.

I like the app been using for a while but since the update om march 22 it dose not work properly. It freezes on the upcoming bills and whenni click on a bill it brings up a different one?? Any others having this issue?

I want to love it but it does not show transactions from brokerage accounts. Also why can't I add more than one login per institution?!??

I would give this app 0 stars if possible. All I wanted was to be able to use the free calculators because I was tired of being constantly told when using them in my phone's browser that I should use the app instead. If you download the app, you are required not only to create an account but ALSO provide tons of PII, and you still don't actually get to use some of the calculators any differently than over web. Hard Pass.

I'm frustrated that I ended up utilizing this websites articles on credit cards to help me make a choice and ended up unable to access them without downloading the app AFTER I made a profile and linked a bank. Suddenly I can't even see your info without getting redirected to a page telling me to download your app? Why was I able to see the article before? I'm uninstalling and deleting my account. I'll find something else. I don't appreciate this pushy and manipulative tact, but that's just me.

3 accounts (chase, t.rowe price, rocket mortgage) can't update/re-link. very frustrating! update: chase and rocket mortgage resolved. still an issue with T. Rowe Price. it was link up, but continues to say $0.00 balance. then just says refreshing, but nothing happens
