NESN Mobile

Doesn't work on my Android phone - app won't scale to screen(too large) and won't scroll.

The ads on this app are obtrusive. You have to go through them to get to much of the content. But the worst part is that the same ad keeps repeating over and over. After the first time I close the ad you would expect it not to come up again in this session. Ugh. Also many of the videos do not play and the display locks up regularly and won't scroll. Needs to be upgraded.

I would say this app literally doesn't work as it should 90% of the time. Between all the ads popping up the videos never working and the entire site jumping up and down it's virtually unusable. I wish I could use it I want to support nesn and get local sports news but it just infuriates me every time I try.

I understand you need to have advertising to be able to pay for the free service we get. But this is just above and beyond. Everytime i click on a page I have to close out 2-3 page covering ads before I can actually read the article. The story can fit on 1 page but they spread it out to 2 so you have to see the ads to get the last paragraph of the story. I love the stories and reporting is great but it's just a little too much.

I've never written a review before but feel NESN desrves a one star rating for their recent update. With all the ads on this app it is pretty much useless. What used to take one minute to accomplish now takes five. So many useless advertisements. App jumps around to different teams by itself.

Ads are way to slow to load and make reading articles hard to read. Especially when you are halfway done reading a article than it zips back up to the top. It has done this with every different type of phones I have had. (Which the type of phone is always the newest one out at that time.)

One would think with all the money generated by the bruins, redsox, revolution, celtics, patriots etc. That we here in Massachusetts could get a decent functioning app. This app is a joke...I've held out for years that they would invest some money in developers. This app is a complete embarrassment to new England sports.

I think one of the other reviews got it right when they said that there are too many advertisements that cause the app to function improperly. I had used it for a few years with no problems, bit it's been well over a year now. I can't even use it. I hadn't tried it for a while so I just attempted it again. No luck. I will be uninstalling. There is no sense having an app that I can't use. I had been hoping that NESN would have fixed this problem by now. It's surprising and disappointing.

This app is terrible and it's been terrible since day one. Videos never work and the amount of obtrusive ads is unbelievable. I can't even read half the article on the 2nd page because an add takes up half the page with no way to dismiss it. NESN really needs to step it's game up. A high school kid can make a better app. Boston sports deserves a better place for our information!

I was trying to get the scoop on the Red Sox game 3 World Series ending. And figured I'd try NESN. But remembered why I uninstalled the application in the first place. The popups you have going are so bad I actually removed the application. I almost made the mistake of trying it again. No way! Probably the most informative application for Boston sports that I've ever used. But the memory of the pop ups made it so unbearable that I stopped myself. What a shame.

The insane add placement and horrible loading screens make this app impossible to navigate. The entire screen jumps around while also taking forever to load making it impossible to click on anything but an advertisement no matter where you click. For such a respected sports network, they should be ashamed of their product. Its honestly the worst app ever invented.

It's looks like it has never been update since first Android phones came out. It's a portal to an already badly designed site. The ads are unbearable on their website, a portal app like this makes the app useless when an ad displays. And screenshots are not what it looks like.

Slow and glitchy not the best it could be needs more adds I was able to read three words befor screen started to jump and adds pop up. After all it's not about the sport it's about the advertising. :( deleted it want to see sports not adds, sorry I can't give -5 star

This app stinks for so many reasons. Pop-up ads won't go away, the screen size is in no way optomized for a mobile device, the graphic quality is poor...I could go on and on. It looks like NESN is using high school interns to do their app development.

This app has nothing! It's slow, the UI is cheesy looking, glitchy and impossible to navigate without staring at a white screen forEVER! Negative stars is more befitting. Oh, and your website is worth even less. Fire whoever is in charge of it AND the app...OR throw some money into streamlining and making the Ad load times less cumbersome. Slowww slowww slllooowww

Cant take all of the ads and jumping screens any longer. My blood pressure goes up evey time I want to read a story...forget videos..those just dont work on GalaxyS4. This app is a disservice to NE sports fans..

I have never done a review before until till now because of how much this app drives me crazy. Adds are rediculously long and all the alleged videos never work. Also lags your phone. Galaxy s5 here, not like I'm on a pos. Fix it please

This app is great for about 4 seconds. Let me explain. So you go in to check the score of the Sox/Bruins/Pats/Celtics/Revs(if you're into that sort of thing) and then boom! An advertisement pops up. No big deal right? Wrong, the ads on this app aren't sized correctly so they literally block everything and then you can't see anything else but the ad. I figured at some point the tech guy in charge of these things would tweak a few things but I'm seriously losing hope. Dear NESN, hire someone to fix thisfiasco

I've enjoyed this app for years but it has become unusable! It's become nothing more than an embarrassment to the money grabbing Red Sox ownership. There are ways to incorporate paid referral links without making the app useless. I'm sure they're getting paid for all my inadvertent clicks. But all they've succeeded in doing is make a diehard fan uninstall the app! The Red Sox are no longer part of my daily routine.

All videos don't work. The gifs are awful. Enough with the ads(including the website)!! I would be embarrassed if I designed the website and mobile app! Dear NESN, read all these comments. Everyone is saying the same thing. How could anyone give this 5 stars? Must be the designer and his buddies!

This app used to be good, but now it's total garbage. The videos rarely play. The articles are impossible to read, because every time you attempt to click on one, the ridiculous amount of adds that are shoved down your throat cause the screen to constantly scroll, which forces you to select the wrong article. My wife already deleted it from her phone, and if it doesn't change soon, I will be too. I would rather pay for a premium app that works right, than be able to use this junk for free. Please fix it.

I absolutely loved watching red sox on nesn, then you fired don orsillo. Because I love red sox I've tolerated Dave O'Brien. What I won't tolerate if this absolutely awful excuse for an app. Can't scroll, ads galore, VIDEOS DON'T LOAD AT ALL. You should be ashamed to even have your name associated with this piece of crap. NESN has been on a downward spiral and if You don't fix it you're going to lose a lot of users. Only thing this app is good for is spiking my blood pressure.

Too many ads. If I wanted lame ads I would turn on the TV. Also resizes all pages for me though I have my settings correct. I don't want to scroll right and left and then down to get all the headlines nevermind read an article

I love this app and use it everyday but my only gripe is that every time I try to watch a video, it doesn't work. I have an HTC Thunderbolt. NESN Please Fix!!! Update: Seems like they tried to fix the video to get it to work, but now there isn't a link to click. Just shows the html code/address

Way too many ads that fight with you when page scrolling. I didnt understand why i got rid of NESN app and had WEEI app instead. Now i know. You cant even read stories because the ads wont let you scroll through the story. Very disappointed.

I used to like this app, had not used it for a while, now i find that it is infested with ads that take up 70% of the screen and cannot be closed. The ads also make the screen not scrollable, so basically i cant get past the first screen. Its 2014, not 2008, a 16 year old could design a better app
