Netatmo Weather

Don't waste your time with this line of products. App UI/UX is rough and unintuitive to navigate, doesn't allow you access to all features of the weather system (considering the system modules are flakey at the best of times work, probably not a surprise) lags with updated weather info, when the modules work well enough to report anything and the help section sends you to incorret links on the company website. Filter for 1 star reviews to get an accurate sense of how bad this product is

To much time between updates. Can't force trigger an update (refresh) from the app. Sometimes widgets need to be manually refreshed because they show old data. Accumulated rain data in the app resets every mindnight instead of showing last 24 hours. There is no way to see the total accumulated rain over the last 24 hours. Customer support is useless, they don't acknowledge these issues saying that it's working as intended. New widgets are ugly af (transparency gone).

Expensive. Can't refresh data in-app, must press physical button on accessory (?!). Some accessories have no buttons, so can't refresh data at all, must wait indefinitely until the app randomly decides to update automatically (?!?!). No Google Assistant/Home integration. 2x2 widget shows no CO2 nor humidity. Poor support, says can't do anything about it for "reasons beyond our control" (?!). Frequent connection issues, must frequently restart accessories. No wind warnings. Otherwise good.

I purchased this weather unit in year 2020 in Norway. It's nice and does the job beautifully. It would be great to have it's own display or other mechanism to read weather data in real-time in addition to analyze data from server. I brought this unit in Canada at 2021. In 2022 purchased two extra indoor module and connect with main module. So far it does it's job beautifully.

could you please make the graphs accessible in portrait mode? having to turn the phone sideways just to view a graph is ridiculous. it's 2022, graphs shouldn't be an afterthought. also, maybe show more graphs on the same screen (e.g. all room graphs in one place, looking similar to the forecast view)?

I like the netatmo weather station, but the app should be improved, especially the graph feature: The y-axis scaling is often not ideal or changes for no apparent reason when you scroll. And when you zoom out to cover a wider time range, the sampling is too coarse.

The widget background you have now forced on us to use is ugly and ruins the clean layout I like to maintain on a dark theme. I won't be using it any longer, rendering it useless. Why remove basic options for a transparent background? Please bring it back

I have to update this review since the new version of the apps widgets seems totally broken, no transparency option, and the new data layout seems totally off. I do hope that this version of the widgets is an premature beta leak, and it will be fixed soon. The home screen widgets is a very important feature for me and my phone. PLEASE Netatmo, fix this. Products is just working and the app is doing what I need and is stable while not consuming particularly much battery. What stands out with netatmo is their stellar customer service.

All the stations works fine except my wind amenometer won't connect. New batteries. No wifi interference and within 10cm of base unit. Green light flashed for a few seconds only and won't connect. Very disappointing!!

Hmm. The scale on the graph for rain is kind of off. The most rain messured is 1.4mm, and the scale is 0, 0, 0, 1, 1. Or if i zoom out: 0, 38

Great app, broken widget. The station and the app are great, but please bring back the option to use transparent background in the home screen widget. Nobody uses blue background. Please bring back transparency option for the widget.

I have a widget for the app on my home screen of both my phone (android) and tablet (ios). Both work very well. When I open up my device, updated info pops up on my screen within a second or two.

I don't like the latest version because the widget does not have a transparent background please put back the transparent background on the widget

Haven't seen much improvement for best user experience, the interface is still the same. Don't get me wrong the app is working great, the dashboard is fine, but the graph screen deserves attention, it isn't intuitive. What about change the right drop down to choose between the measurements and showing the temperatures each with different colour simultaneously. The same for other measurements. Then on the right side having a permanent list of modules as checkboxes for controlling which to show.

Yep, new widgets are STILL total disaster :( Transparency is back BUT lots of info missing from smaller size widgets (humidity, update wheel, pressure, CO2) if not resized to fill the WHOLE screen of phone?!?!?!

Widgets used to resize much better with my home screen on older Android, but not as well anymore. I'm glad they added back the transparency option.

So far I'm liking the app and data it provides. The only thing holding it back for me is the graphs don't come up most of the time. Every once in a while, they'll work but for the most part, all I get is a empty graph with a crossed out page on it. The graphs do show up online but there's no mobile view so it's worthless to look at them there unless you're on a desktop.

I'm a bit disappointed there isn't the ability to configure the layout to suit myself like being able to display the wind and rain on the same page as the temperature this is in relation to the app and widget. Also when I put my phone on its side to view the graphs it only displays one way so I have to turn my phone 180°.when I go to the map I'd like to see wind speed and rain amount on the map like you see the temperature without having to open each station to view the data on. Good app but.

After 2+ years of use my main complain is that the app can be slow to load and show data. For a device without screen and relying only on the app, I think it should be better. Maybe the app could get the data directly from the device if used on the same networked (instead of relying on Netatmo servers). Also no Google home integration is a big miss for me, the options for the graphics could be more advanced (several curves, personalized time range, better resolution...) and a notification if the connection to the device is lost (network / battery / ... issue) would be nice. But despite the above points it's overall a well designed app and good product ! :)

As a new user of the app and the weather station, I have to say I'm quite impressed with the device itself so far - impressed enough to order a second indoor module and a rain module anyway. The app itself, I have reservations about. Yes, it does what it needs to, but I feel it could be better, more intuitive perhaps. I had to use trial and error to work out how to create rooms and move the indoor module. The main screen still shows "Indoor" instead of the rooms I created. It remains to be seen whether this means all created rooms are "Indoor", or maybe it won't let me swipe through multiple identically named rooms. I'll find out soon enough. The instructions on connecting the outdoor module were almost non-existent, and devoid of troubleshooting advice. There seems no way to force a refresh of readings from within the app, if they haven't updated with the regular poll interval, which is strange - you can't poll the devices remotely, you can't drag down and release to refresh the screen; you have to kill the app process and restart it. That there exists an independent UK Netatmo support group on FB to help people with Netatmo products speaks volumes for the official support function and its ability. I'll see how I get on with the extra modules I've ordered, and update my thoughts accordingly, if necessary.

Nothing wrong with the app, but if you're thinking about using this weather station with additional indoor modules, don't bother. I've tried it and can confirm that the wireless signal between the additional and base modules cannot pass through a sheet of uncoated 4mm glass or three layers of corrugated cardboard. If you live in one of those new trendy houses with walls, you stand no chance.

Latest auto update looks nice, but please keep focus on important history data features. Latest app kept showing "The station can take some time to make its first measurement".. until I did on-demand measurement. I should have few years of measurement history, but it appears to me that the app has started to loose some of that. I can no longer trust the icon on graphs view to tell that the device was offline due batteries went out. Something else is definitely eating my measurement history. -1.
