The app is very clunky, for a high-end solution of this price, Netgear should invest much more to have a modern, fast app that proposes a higher level of control and visibility over the home network. 1. the fact it takes 30s to launch and connect on the Wi-Fi at home to manage the mesh is not what we should experience in 2021. 2. when disabling access to one device, often need to refresh/ do it 2 times, also if a laptop is off, it is not the list of devices so cannot disable it until it connects

I have been using the Orbi system a few years now and the hardware is for the most part, excellent. However, the app and the web portal for it are mediocre with nearly half a dozen devices not being listed as online when they are and allocated an IP address by the router. The latest app update now has a newly designed network map that I now can't see all my satellites on my mobile screen and doesn't differentiate between WiFi and Ethernet connections. Frustrating software spoiling a good product

1 star, I'd give 0 if I could! It's been a month since we've been able to connect to our router through the app or website. We're not alone, numerous others online have the same issue. Cannot connect with someone because after only 3 months and it saying our warranty is good til next Feb, says expired so no chat, no case support, no creating a new case, and no one ever answers the phone! We've reinstalled the app, but it's Netgear in general having this issue, and they don't care to fix it!

WiFi 6 Mesh network is solid, especially using wired Ethernet backhaul. I don't like not being able to hide the SSID or have visibility into per-device real time bandwidth usage in the app like other more simple, less expensive mesh options out there. If these aren't made available in the future, Garbage since the most recent update. The network map doesn't fit the screen anymore and looks like it was designed by a 5 year old.

Same problem as everyone else. App won't connect now. Have had mine for over 1.5 years and the app hasn't been the greatest but this is the first time I can't connect at all. Have tried re-installing app and router/satellites and tried on multiple different phones and tablets. Same thing on all. Seeing lots in the support forums having the same issue.

Not the best system or app. Unable to update my router at all. So is slow and things are hard to find. Constantly gives wrong readings. What bothers me the most is not being able to update my router when needed. I'm behind several updates due to the app being unable to do one of it's main jobs.

***Update*** application updated today and it's even worse!!! Can't connect to router, can't detect Orbi wifi!!! Phone and other devices are connected to my WiFi but application shows no network! Absolutely garbage. Tech support that I paid for to help us useless unless you have 3hrs to waste. Terrible app!! Doesn't show connected devices since update under device manager. Speed test doesn't work half the time. Rebooted, restarted, and still same. Complete garbage!!

The initial setup was horrible, but I muddled through and finally got it working. It worked well until now when I tried to access the settings via this app. Why does the app say it cannot find the network even though I'm connected to it?? Either the app is poorly developed or the router. Either way, it's your problem, Netgear!! Fix it. I'm not the only one having issues.

Not fully functional - this app is supposed to be the replacement for how to administer your expensive Orbi router. However, you will be unable to access many of the controls for the router, and once you start using this app, the features won't show up in the web portal control page. And never subscribe to any Netgear services because there is no easy way to unsubscribe. Once the introductory rate expires, you'll be build at a much higher rate and not be able to turn it off.

Installation was horrible. App froze several times, I waited, it failed repeatedly. Restarting left me guessing what to do. still don't see options to set IP ranges and other tailored setup things. no way to skip the armor 30 day demo. After running it for a year, when power goes off, the satellite needs manually reconnected to the main router. If internet is off, app can't connect to router. All around garbage.

Setup was frustrating. There are issues with out of date firmware that causes error when using the apps. I am disappointed that I paid $1200 for what was supposed to be a premium system and then had to endure a frustrating session with tech support as well.. It is working now! However I must admit, not sure I would pay premium again knowing I will be at the mercy of tech support. I could have save $500 and still had the same level of frustration with a cheaper system.

Says can't find your Orbi. I'm on the same network, same room, it is connected to wifi. This app is trash. They say to contact support - which is ONLY FREE FOR 90 DAYS! So keep that in mind. When it did work, It generally will show no devices connected to a certain satellite even though we have a console hard wired and phone, speaker etc in same room.

Love the Orbi mesh units. They are great. This app works fine for most things you want if you have a single network. However it would really be great for those of us with multiple orbi networks if it was a lot easier to have multiple networks with the app. It is impossible to add additional working networks to the app for some reason. Only seems to work if you set each one up initially via the app.

App obviously doesn't work at all, I am connected to the wifi, standing within 3 feet of the router, and the app refuses to connect to the router, I have updated the app, deleted and reinstalled it too, it is an existing network, and the app worked in the past. Apparently it is too much to expect to have a product that actually works reliably...

Orbi app constantly connects through the cloud instead of locally to the router. When this happens I am limited in what I can do. Even after connecting locally, the app still doesn't give me the options back. The parental control and security free trials I was given don't register in the app so I can't even try them out. You can't disable SSID broadcast or disable 5ghz, which makes it impossible to connect some devices. This app needs a lot of work before I would ever recommend it.

This app is terrible. I have paid a subscription to enable parental controls on children's devices and, at best, it functions as designed sparingly. Extremely disappointed with this considering that I am paying for this service. Subsequent updates of this app have also reduced the functionality, resulting in the loss of features that I was using previously. One of the features lost is the ability to control my wifi network remotely. I am getting more and more disappointed with this app.

Had no issues with it for 6 months after I got the orbi mesh system. Starting last week it started saying can't find router. I have tried reconnecting multiple times NY unplugging everything and even setting it up like a new system. I don't know what the company did to the app but it's trash now.

Like many others, I'm no longer able to connect to my orbi system. Which means I'm also no longer able to access the parental controls that I paid extra for. About 3 or 4 weeks ago the app was working great. I've tried reinstalling, but am still unable to connect. I won't be buying Netgear when it's time to upgrade.

Good router, useless app. When I download a configuration app for a router, I expect to be able to, you know, configure more than the ssid and password. What good is this if I need to open the internal page of the router with my browser to do things like changing channels? You obviously see the utility of changing channels as the app has a function to show what channels are best to use, but then I gives no means to use this information. Also why can I not split 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands?

Completely unusable. App crashes within a few seconds and a "this app has a bug error" keeps popping up. Wouldn't be a HUGE deal except the app is the only way to manager Netgear ARMOR which is itself a buggy service that is blocking necessary websites. So now we're stuck unable to access important websites (like my work benefits) until a fix.

Has been good up until now. I'm having the same problem everyone else is. When I open the app it says "cannot connect to router" but my Wi-Fi is working fine. The app doesn't have a ton of use, or options but always worked fine before the latest update. Netgear, you need to get on the ball here and fix this problem before you lose customers.

Terrible app. Doesn't show the correct amount of devices connected, can't use the satellite as it won't show up in the app. I uninstalled then reinstalled the app it's still broken. Unusable. Spent 2 hrs with support to no resolution. Kept gettu g disconnected as you can't chat and use the app without losing your conversation with support.

Over a month since April update and no fix from Netgear! It still doesn't work! Latest app update opens and occasionally quickly shows my network then reverts to a lovely blue screen that showed only the version of the app. Plus Orbi really doesn't like Samsung S21+ as it refuses to connect on a regular basis which then entails reboot of Orbi, forgetting my networks and reconnecting. Note the Netgear problem with Samsung has gone on for months.

Edit 5-27-2022 - bought a Deco, took 10min, all devices back online. Edit 5-25-2022 - Orbi is bricked! It appears that the router and satellite can talk to each other wirelessly. Hubs that that are plugged into them work, but not wifi. If you change a SSID such as Name to NAME connection is permanenty lost. Previously I would reset the router from new. I changed the name, password, then changed it back, then all my wifi devices worked normal. Almost like the router firmware loses settings.

What a bad app. I can't connect to any of the devices. It says Issues Connecting with "network name", even though I am connected. I wanted to log into my network to see why a particular device isn't connecting. Paid a lot of money for the tech for the app not to work as intended.

Cannot connect to router for over a month or better. Use to be 5 stats this app is now unusable. Restarted router half does times or so. Nothing is working to get this to connect. And I'm not using a VPN on my home network. This needs to be addressed.

Even though I'm connected to my wifi. Everytime I try to connect to the orbi app it always says "issues connecting with (my wifi)" I've rest the router and modem and keep getting the same issue. Can't even login on the computer to change settings. And they want me to pay almost $200 to get it fixed for the first time I'm ever calling??!!! No thanks!

Garbage app, won't connect to router, all kinds of problems after attempt to update firmware. Won't connect satellite. Everything seems to work but just says nothing is connected. Logs me out all the time, never change my log in and says my log in is incorrect have to send a temp password to get in. Garbage all the way around.
