I was able to get this to connect to my STR-DN-1020, but all I can get it to do is stop and restart playing music service. I can't use it to select between radio and music service, to select a specific music service or playlist, or anything else, and most importantly I can't get it to control volume.
The fact that this old app can control the volume of my 2017 sound bar is crazy. Didn't need permission or anything. Really needs an update.
Totally outdated & useless even although one example given was for my old micro system. Consantly nagged me that no speakers were commented? No idea what it used to do.
would give negative stars if possible. this app does not work with any of my sony equipment and all of it is upper end within 2 years old. app is junk
Needs updating to include usage of apps such as Spotify via tablet or phone. I find it useless
The volume control slider is too sensitive.
its a really cool app. its taking me some time to figure it out. but when i do its goona be AWSOME!!!!!
Terrible design. Difficult to get out of a folder once selected
Looks bad bad performance and quality
this app looks like 2001 software
Home Theatre phone touch
Don't waist your time
Lately this app has been chewing through my battery, has never been up to exceptions for a Sony product. Can't close it properly, devices take ages to appear in the list, limited functionality. Hasn't been update in a long time since Sony removed the V tuner support on their Networked Stereos. If there was another option I wouldn't be using this app
The vTuner section of the app seems to function only within very strict constraints, and could use a major overhaul. The browser is slow and oftentimes does not load all radio stations available; what makes it worse is that searching stations is limited to those loaded, so if the browser fails, there is no way a particular station you are looking for (and you know is there) can be streamed or added to Favorites. The design lags far behind current standards, and the app needs to be manually forced to close (?!) in order for it to be removed from memory. Other than that, the app works ok-ish; please Sony, I like the hardware, but this could be so much better!
Not at par with the reputation the brand Sony carries. Needs update. Should provide option to tune in and preset FM from app itself. Equalizer control can also be incorporated. Not very useful for music systems which require a TV set for accessing all controls, those controls can be provided on app itself. Using the app for Sony HT IV 300.
Come on Sony, either give us an app that functions properly or don't give us one at all. I've tried to use this with the dn-1040 and it is the crappest app out there. Not to mention you need to use a second app (tv sideview) to control some functionality of the amp, and this one you have to force close every time it's used. Sony get your act together as you're about to lose a loyal customer.
Waste of money now as the app which at first worked is incompatible with android system. An update would solve this but Sony don't seem to care. They would clearly rather screw customers over than spend a tiny jit ofcash on an update.
Truly this is the worst android app that I have ever seen. It does nothing that you would expect it to do. Update: installed BubbleUPnP and it just works flawlessly. Sony should go hire those developers...NO WAIT! Don't do that!!
This app worked fine in Jelly bean - But Crashes in Kit Kat - Please Fix Sony. I fortunately have an ipad mini and the ios version works fine except you have to keep the ipad screen displayed. The Andriod version in Jellybean was a lot better than the ios version - now a bit disappointed.
Useless. Used this for streaming internet radio stations, which they stopped to support. Now my network speakers only works with airplay/itunes.
Playlist work with PC but it plays the whole album on USB input. No album art downloads. Note that the NACSV10i homeshare dock has been discontinued.
App is terrible, doesn't work at all, makes the added function of the speaker absolutely useless
Why oh why can't I stream music from my phone?! All I seem to be able to do is pause/next/prev while playing mp3s off USB and change the volume... but only after I use the normal remote to switch to USB. I can use the normal remote for all that. The app isn't very intuitive either.
When it works its great, but when it doesnt, and thats often, its dire... streaming from buffalo linkstation to str-dn1020 plays songs but five songs in selecting another it just stops, gone as far as uninstalling and reinstalling for it to work again, party streaming it is not.... works better streaming straight from my phone, but theres the prob, cant hold my complete music collection... fix it Sony please.
Old but has some poor design choice, you must enable the file sharing on your windows boxes to access the media on it. Big failure is no internet apps work worth a damn. But safe to say Sony treats this like abandonware
