Yamaha doesn't care at all of their customers. I have never got a reply from the development or online help. The app cannot even connect two Yamaha audio devices CD Player and Network receiver, although both are in the same WiFi.
WOULD GET A FIVE BUT...... this app simply cannot be used with Bluetooth or over a Wi-Fi connection it constantly loses touch with the base unit. I finally went out and got a 20 ft ethernet cable and connected it directly into my Wi-Fi and have absolutely loved the system ever since then. It has not failed me, not once. MUST BE HARD WIRED
It can't find a supported Yamaha RN 500 networked amp on the same network, even if I try to manually insert the correct IP address. So basically the app is completely useless. Using a Moto G6 with Android 8.0.0 and latest firmware on the Yamaha amp.
Buggy, does not load album artwork, sometimes albums only play through artist rather than album. Clunky to use, just a bit rubbish really
Absolute garbage. It browses and plays your music and absolutely nothing else. Yamaha - did you seriously enjoy someone to build this?
In case the app does not work on your phone try to update the firmware on the Yamaha device. It solved our problem.
Works great, but it could allow for more audio formats to be compatible.
Music suddenly appears in different folders example two folders of led zeppelin all tags are correct
this is simply hopeless. i have a CD-N500 model I can't browse channels anymore. this is simply NOT NICE to leave existing customer down! Evenworse: below email address of yamaha is a NO REPLY email address and therefore never search these people. ** The top punt of sadness ** ZERO STARS FROM ME
Worst app, does not get connect with my Yamaha amp rcv585.
needs updating for android pie very buggy at the min.
After 8 years of greatness always comes up in demo mode
Yamaha RN 602 Network Receiver is not supported, WHY?
not possible to use net radio on my R-N 500 after update, directing me to yradio vtuner????
Needs a search function
It could not locate my Yamaha RN 303
No longer supports internet radio. Feels clunky. Looks dated. Doesn't play FLAC over wi-fi. mp3 only. No gapless playback. The lack of bookmarks makes some features next to useless. I notice people were asking for these 4 years ago... A poor app. I wouldn't purchase a similar Yamaha product having seen this level of support.
Does only the basic..been using it with a rn301 since 2015 I'm still waiting for advanced features but don't think it's going to happen
Worked on my previous Android 4.2 HTC, doesn't work on current Android 7.1 AGM - shows me the player, but when I'm trying to connect to it throws message "check your MAC" filter, in settings displays incorrect MAC address 0200000000
Works okay for over-the-air radio and Internet radio. No support for Google Play, which is fine because it wasn't advertised to do so, but they advertise support for Spotify Premium, but it actually support it. The software on my receiver is also pretty sucky because the built-in UI doesn't let you control anything.
It doesn't work with an up to date HTC One M8. Although the phone is connected to the same router as the Yamaha CRX-N560, the app never detects the CRX, it's always in useless Demo mode. Please make this app operational, currently it's completely useless.
For the love of god please add SP A/B buttons. I get that most everything else people want is a bigger task to implement but this should be trivial to add and 3 years later it's still not there. The app is not great, but does the job, but this is one primary missing piece. Please add this option Yamaha.
Outdated. internet radio lists loads very slowly on app. When playing from server mode, song info does not auto update on app. Using it on RN-301.
Yamaha really needs to update this app to bring it in line with others. You cannot even perform basic functions like search.
I use this app every day. I have an R-N500 receiver, which is getting long in the tooth but it does everything I need. I hope that Spotify continues to work on it. Internet Radio no longer works. It would nice if the app were updated but it's extremely unlikely. It would also be nice to have a more sophisticated way of playing files from my Android device (it just lists every individual file which is less than useful). But it does all the basic things well enough and reliably.
