Network Signal Guru (NSG) is a multi-functional Android OS based tool for voice and data service quality troubleshooting, RF optimization and engineering field work. It supports all wireless network technologies worldwide, and covers multiple mobile layers as well as data stack in real-time. NSG provides extensive test functions for voice, data tests to assess and reflect the real end-user experience of QoS within a mobile network.
NSG covers all test functions and latest technologies such as: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, CDMA2000, EVDO, LTE(FDD & TDD). NSG integrates full recording and decoding of protocol layers on the supported technologies(3GPP, Layer2, Layer3 and SIP) and direct decoding of Layer 3 signaling and data protocol packets on cell phones.
NSG Map offers comprehensive and valuable benefits to combine outdoor and indoor measurements, which reduces the complexity of in locations such as subway, malls or airports.
Generally, NSG provides two optional modes for end users, general and advanced modes. In advanced mode, NSG needs two prequisite conditions before you are using this tool. first advanced mode only support Qualcomm chipset models. Secondly NSG need cell phone a super user access within your android phone and you have to root the device before NSG is running. In the advanced mode, test user can discover handreds of parameters in different network technologies provided by NSG and that can help us to know the wireless better. If device cannot run in advanced mode, NSG will fallback to general mode. Under this mode, all the Android OS running devices can provide NSG information for test users including radio parameters, cell location and even advanced LTE parameters.
What that NSG team is doing right now is to lower the cost of network maintenance, optimization and engineering processes. Currently a lot of test tools provided in the market are very expensive, some of those are much more expensive than a basestation. That’s why NSG Team launch this app. Please help us more users and carriers can get benefits from this APP.
Band Locking enables you to allow your phone to only search for service on the bands that you specify. This is important if you are trying to identify specific coverage in specific locations, or do other testing with your phone. Additionally, if you find that one band is severely congested, you can force your phone to stay on a different particular band.Network Signal Guru is a new app that gives TONS of information on the cellular networks that you are connected to.

A very detailed, easy to use and user friendly app. The free version does contain ads however they are minimal and non intrusive. I am using the licenced version however as it provides far great granularity and functionality. If you are interested in RAN then this app is a must, it is also great for troubleshooting band experimenting.
I consider this application to be the most comprehensive tool available through Google Play. The graphical interface has no competition and is very intuitive. The application provides many features that no other application provides. For example - NR5G mode (SA,NSA,SA/NSA), NR cell lock, ARFCN lock, eNB ant differences and many others. It is possible to upload a database of cells to the application, use various test scripts. The user can browse all signaling messages and copy their content. It is an excellent tool for all people who are familiar with the RF environment and are looking for a quality tool for mobile networks. For me personally, I highly recommend this app to anyone.
Great app, would be awesome to connect this to nemo outdoor PC. Tutorial would be fantastic. Would pay for that. Business users should get a licence fee discount or easy to purchase option for this ability. Thank you.
This is by far the best app to read out Modem Infos. It shows Band-Info, Cell-Info, RX TX Configuration, Modulation, Throughput, Rank Usage, Signaling between Network and UE. It also has a lot of forcing options for GSM, LTE and NR Bands, Cells or (E)ARFCN. There's also the option to run scripts for throughput testing.
Complete network test for a rooted phone. Good support of all networks including 5g. Just as good as ookla wind at a far lower cost. Highly recommend for hobbyists and network professionals alike.
Works fine on Xiaomi 11 Lite NE (lisa). But the screen keeps changing on its own constantly (maybe when reconnecting cell), there should be a way to disable this.
The best field test app available. Gives access to a loads of radio information and is my go-to for when I need to look into things in depth. Continuously being updated and developed to enhance and give more information more clearly.
Nice app. Force control works well. Would be great if you could choose to display only the pages that you need though. For example, I think most users only need to use one or two of the display pages, but not all 15 of them. And sometimes the app opens on another page and you have to scroll across 10 times to see the page that you need. Otherwise I love the app it's great!
First of all, the app works great. However, the cost just to stop the pages from scrolling and the ad to go away is completely well out of the price range for most of us enthusiasts! I understand that you're targeting this to more professionals but there are a lot of enthusiasts like us who use it not for the professional features but for simple band locking and cell identifying. I'm someone who owns several phones to identify and map cells as a hobby, not profit, so $50/month is way too much. Please, consider a much cheaper version for us so that we can continue doing what we do!
Don't think it's working on Android 12 on OnePlus 9 Pro. Always worked for my 8 pro and 9 Pro before latest update. Now it gives an error 502 when I want to ONLY lock into band 41 LTE.
Does not work on non-rooted phones should be started in the app description. Additionally, $50 monthly is entirely to high for this app.
When I open the app, the app automatically keeps changing to different tabs within the app without me doing anything. Even if I select a particular tab to view the info in it, the app switches to another tab by itself. Frustration to read any info. Band lock does work though, but sometimes requires a reboot.
Many other apps are supporting band lock on slot 2, but this app is not, as there are many mobiles which came with hybrid slot, you should consider adding support to slot 2.
Doesn't seem to work when Roaming. Everytime I launch NSG, network goes down. After closing NSG, network returns promptly. Pefectly reproducible. For the above issue Cellular Z works perfectly. NSG app keeps rapidly switching between SIM 1 and 2 making it difficult to actually check the details of any particular SIM. Looks to be deliberate to force users towards the paid version.
Excellent app for getting information you otherwise couldn't without it. Very detailed and well worth it.
The absolute best application out there for viewing real data. As long as you have root, this app will show you carrier aggregation status. Real time SINR and other quality status. All the way down to the SIP messages exchanged as part of VoLTE. There is no other application out there that will provide you with more accurate real time data.
Greatest cell diagnostic app ever created! This app allows one to view full information from cellphone's modem. It also allows the important feature of locking bands so phone can be forced to less busy signals or signals that travel further. NSG is an app designed for the professional and power user, there are a handful of features only a cell engineer will find useful or understand the meaning of.
Literally, the best network field testing application! It has so much functionality: speed testing with iperf scripts, RAT locking, etc...
Literally one of a kind, Dont know of a single product out there like it that doesn't require it's own kernel or a completely dated version of android! or requires physical attachment to a PC. The best thing is, Even without a rooted device, the replay works on qualcom log files.. This makes it so adaptable! Can't wait to see what else the NSG team bring out!
used to work great on Android 7. after 9.0 update it does not lock bands anymore. im on rooted version. edit: It turned out to be a problem with my operator there was too much signal disturbance in my area which kept switching my bands from band-03/1800 to band 40. The problem has been fixed and i ran the app on 9.0 and it works as intended.
[!!!] DEVELOPER I NEED YOUR ATTENTION [!!!] Please add support for hybrid devices. I have sim card on the first slot and everything works fine. But i need to use Sd Card, so i put the sd card on the first slot and my sim on second slot. But, After i turned on the device, the band locking doesn't work anymore, i'm really frustrated because my signal in my area is really slow and need to be locked. Please help me! Unable to lock lte tdd bands on my phone only lte fdd bands are locking, i want to lock lte850 its working. It helped me a lot
Very powerful app to play with signals and radio the best app would be great all time if it contiues to maintain stability like now even on further updates without removing any older functions or making things complicated the best thing was locking the radio signals with our desired frequencies and bands and complete monitering of signals full status of whole thing thats going on. thanks a lot to developer for taking time to give the best.
Best field test / networking test software on the market. Easy to use also for non RAN engineers, often updates, great support (even on weekends). For private use the free version has everything tech geekgs needs. The commercial version has more functionality as comparable products for much lower price.
Love this app , i uses airtel network and use this app to lock band .the new frequency gives me 60 ms ping while playing pubg. And constant network. But here is few thing not working If you are using dual sim then you can't change the frequency of second sim network even if you put the first sim to off.
This is a really great app for network testing and surveying. The price does reflect the fact it replaces dedicated test equipment, and you do need a rooted phone with a supported modem - it's not so much a general purpose app as it is a specific app for network testers. If this is the app you need, you'll find it very helpful. The customer service is also excellent, the developers are happy to assist with any issues.
