Fine app, although it detects as active devices that are not (printer) or duplicate devices (like my phone, under two different MACs. One has right build and IPv6 the other has right MAC and device manufacturer. Why?) Speedtest works fine, upload test is quite a bit "jumpy" though. Wi-fi scan started at 2.4Ghz and refused to change to 5 (phone is connected to 5 and 2.4 is set as "do not autoconnect")
It can inform you about connected devices to your Wi-Fi Access Point. You can ping them, make a Port Scan. When I tried to rename my devices in the app's list, unexpectedly the app turned off few times and I had to start it again. Also the same devices after they were connected to another Wi-Fi changed their names in my previous Wi-Fi app's list to their default names and I had to rename them again.
Excellent, comprehensive set of net utilities, would be nice to include a WiFi & Cellular strength and survey capabilites, while the interface for user input is consistent, I would perhaps go for a nicer and more visible data input field,
Without a doubt, the best LAN / WiFi network scanner. Super slick interface, and everything you need to diagnose network issues. Used the free version, loved it so much, I bought the Pro version! Well well worth the price.
(edit) unfortunatly after investigating the chrome OS with this app chrome OS creates its own internal subnet within the device so i dont think apps like this will ever work. Unless you can find a way around this. But not likely. I will rate higher for it still working on other devices and seems to work well. No need for a refund. You deserve the credit anyways. Its googles fault, like always.
When I had just installed NetX Pro, I_simply went into Settings, made no change there and immediately stepped back out of the Settings, upon which NetX to my annoyance came ask whether to restart the app in order to put changes into effect, whereas I hadn't made any. This_embarrassing behaviour persisted until I_actually made a change to a Setting (Theme actually) and_approved to restart the app. Other_than this, I_believe it's a fabulous app ! It's a superb app, but it never goes to sleep after first running it, it shows a constant notification on the pull down menu, only l force stopping the app works. I could disable the notification entirely by long press but like all other apps shouldn't this app too go to sleep and shut off when not in use? Disabling the notification will still mean that the app is still running in background so that's not a solution?
The CSV import from the main menu does not work. I sent an email to the developer with more details and screenshots. EDIT: In the new version, the CSV import works. Thank you for the prompt update.
Ok, now it is more realistic. Thank you ::: Great app, except speed test-feature that gives weird servers and result. Once it show my connection 1.92mbps or about ~2mbps multiple times, I immediately check/verified result with other popular speed test apps and I found: a) 47mbps b) 46.7mbps c) 47.21mbps. Your app gives these weirdly slow numbers that can't be true. Also your app show that ping is about 226ms-908ms while all other sites show 18ms-36ms. Lastly I'm from Finland, your app offer servers that were located in Ghana, etc.
Not sure if some of the features are working like port scanning but everything else seems great. Just giving 5 starts based on the developer's followup and effort in handling bugs and issues from previous reviews. Totally worth supporting a developer like this
speed test doesnt appear to work otherwise useful and nice interface some of the screend whete you click an icon it looks like tap screen but you have to click icon. otherwise nice app. im happy to update to 5 stars if i can get the internet speed working.
Any paid app that stays in memory and doesn't allow you to close is just stupid. re your comment: "If you read the parameters description in the settings page" - maybe if you made your app to be a bit more user friendly and self explanatory, then you wouldn't get bad reviews. In fact, why make this option as default instead of the other way around?
Pretty good all around but one small UI issue, half the time I tap device icon it tries to open ssh as the buttons are too close together. Other than that it's great.
I don't use it a lot but occasionally I need to see what things are on what wifi frequencies to coordinate devices on the network. This one works pretty good
Works much better than when I first tested it. I assign all my devices static IPs, but this app is helpful for identifying new devices and looking out for "leachers."
So far NetX is the best and easiest LAN device scanner I've found. I use it regularly to find device IP's & MAC's as well as identifying new/unknown devices on my network. I love it and have it b installed on every device
Latest update broke app completely on Android 10. WiFi scan just hangs. Update 12/3 Still broke. Have not heard any updates from developer since 11/25. Latest version now seems to work fine now. Cudos to the developer for fixing and following up!
I got the app when it was on sale. I used it when i setup new wifi access points in my LAN, to see if I can reach other devices. I could do without but it is a TIME SAVER. Also wake up on lan is beneficial. Most other features need additional setup, so probably more for a power user. I believe the app could benefit from widgets to place buttons on your home screen of with quick access to ssh terminals, trace route... So I recommend it when you set up networks often. Or you grab it on sale.
