I am using this app with Jetaudio and with my new Grado Sr80x headphones to fine tune my listening experience. I have noticed that I really don't need all the bass/treble boosts and various sound enhancements provided by Jetaudio. I am listening to tunes with a flat equalizer and neutralizer and that's it. The only thing I noticed is when I open Neutralizer there is a lot of white noise in the background. I am not sure if it's intentional or something else. A very useful tool.
Great concept but the interface needs work or maybe better documentation. I have the paid version which supports multiple device profiles. Profile creation is intuitive and works well. The app seems to detect which device is connected and switches to the correct profile. The problem is when I have *no* device connected (just the internal speaker) and the app remains active. It would be nice if the app would only activate when a device is connected (i.e., when needed)
Amazing👍 app, it basically helps you calibrate your equalizer using your hearing to give you the best quality audio for your ears (also ProTip: use adapt sound and choose no for all answers-use that profile-then turn your volume all the way up-and turn all the calibrations to 0 temporarily-and then go up the calibrations from there and find the noise that doesn't belong and choose below it-until you finish, and then Boom! You get high quality audio that doesn't kill your ears.
It constantly runs in the background even when not open and when disabled, draining lot of battery. The developer never answered any of my mails about any sort of question or problem I had. It was last updated 6 years ago, which is an eternity. And no matter what I try, it never sounds as good as other EQs.
I have been looking for something like this! I have had multiple ear surgeries due to otosclerosis, and my right ear is much worse than my left. If you were able to develop a left- right equalization, I think many people would benefit, and pay for the feature. It would be much better than just going into settings in android and changing the balance.
This app is soooo worth it. I have autism and as a result very sensitive hearing. Certain pitches in music hurt my ears. The problem with that is if I turn the volume down I can't to avoid them I can't hear the rest of the music. This app runs a program to determine your hearing threshold, then tunes the music to your specific hearing. I can now enjoy all the wonder low sounds in my music that I couldn't at low volume without having to cringe from the super high pitches like before.
HTC 10 Evo. Headphones are phenomenal, but the onboard speaker leaves a lot to be desired. (I feel like they should've gone with dual front speakers again) Neutralizer helped me to tune it to a reasonable level allowing crisp, clear audio at high volume levels. As an added bonus, my speaker no longer sounds like its going to rip itself apart. I stop and turn this on EVERY time I play audio out of the main speaker.
Just what I was looking for until I get my new IEM's. Update: this app works fine until you close it and it switches to running in the background (seen under the notifications) and then it keeps randomly changing volume. So, the instance I open it, enable it and then close it and it comes back in the notifications there'd a dip in volume and if it was just that I wouldn't mind but it keeps increasing anf decreasing the volume while the screen is off and the phone is in my pocket. Pls fix.
This app is kind of cool idea to make a separate sound profile for each of everyone at separate scenarios. But I had a bad experience with this app. I was listening ing to spotify and simultaneously I tried to change the sound profile using this app. Then, I was shocked when that loud noise came from my headphone. Please find a way to fix it. Please be aware that guys. Otherwise app is good.
Equalizers enhance a frequency to compensate for the ones that make a speaker sound bad. Some of us can't really tell one frequency from the other but we all know what nice sound sounds like to us. This app did just that: it helped me figure out what I needed for my favorite music to sound as I wanted by neutralizing the sounds I didn't want to hear and enhancing the ones I did. Should you try this? Sure. I just hope it works in your system.
This has the potential to be great, but misses the mark. Leveling out the volumes is a breezy and fun process. And when it's working it does its job admirably. But where it goes wrong is that its notification is easily misswiped away with all of the other temporary/disposible notifications that users are always managing. So quickly, out the window goes Neutralizer's background processing. To make matters worse, the app doesn't have a "launch at boot" option to enable. This app needs an overhaul.
I very very rarely leave reviews, but after using this, I definitely had to give this 5 stars. I'm really big into sound, and to be able to tune sound to my ears is a really awesome thing to be able to do. The app is alittle confusing at first, but to keep it short and sweet, you raise and lower the volume until you can't hear the sound it emits. You do this for every hertz range until you are finished. Turn it on and forget it's running! Go download this now.
This is great! But it does kind of need a makeup control (auto or manual) to compensate for the overall change in volume that can occur from the EQ - that would make it much easier to A/B the effect. Extra credit: allow switching between the white noise+warble and any music playing from another source while tweaking (ie, operating more like a conventional EQ).
Update: once you tune up your device using this app, you have to leave it running in the background to allow it to equalizer your audio output to your sound device, whether it be earbuds, a headset or speakers. It works well with Bluetooth or phone jack output. I haven't tried it with Wi-Fi Direct yet. Also, since this app has no presents for different styles of music or environments, you have to create setup for each situation. I'm not sure how you would go about creating set ups for different styles of music as this app is designed to let you fine tune your sound output to your ears for the best audio quality for your environments and equipment. This app is not an equalizer in the normal terms that most think about. Instead it allows you to fine tune your device to the speaker or headphone/earphones you are using. It does this much like you would when going to get a hearing test so that you can get a hearing aid adapted to your specific hearing. Only in this case you are fine tuning the frequencies in the audio output to you sound producing device and to you specific hearing. Being an Electronics Engineering Technician with over 40 years experience with both audio, video, industrial & medical electronics working both with analog and digital devices, I find this app the most impressive app for smartphones & tablets I've seen and experienced to date. Clearly the developer has similar knowledge & experience.
It's just what I wanted for getting my 1more triple driver under control. 1. There is a major bug though, it stops say after 2 to 5 mins and the only way to get it working again is to close it and the music player using it like Apple music, relaunch it, enable it and then launch the music player again. I have the complete version. 2. The frequencies are not parameterized, ie they're predetermined and fixed steps. 3. No freq band limiter available.
Better than any other equalizer app out there for non-root users. Works great on my Note 9; built-in speakers, wired headphones, or Bluetooth. Just wish I could change the notification priority so there wasn't a constant icon on my bar. Only other alternative to this app that I've found that works is poweramp, but that's paid and doesn't work with stuff like Play Music.
Out of all the equalizer apps that I used. This is the one that actually works. It helps me hear the high frequences and lessen the crazy bass in my bluetooth earphones. Plus, this app runs in background so I don't have to open this app from time to time. Definitely will recommend this to everyone who's looking for a very accurate equalizer that works.
The sound quality of my headphones has been greatly enhanced thanks to this application, it creates quite a nice balance between all the frequencies. However, I wish it would have a "virtualizer" or "surround sound" setting so that we could enjoy the sounds and music more thoroughly. All in all, greatly recommend it.
This is an underrated app. IMO if you are serious about listening to music on your phone, Neutralizer is a must have. Think about it: for any listening output, or even devices that change acoustic properties, the one thing that is kind of a constant is your hearing. Doesn't is make sense to baseline off of that? The app is simple to use, does what it says, and the principle is universal enough to bring life to even mediocre speakers or headphones. Just wish it had an option to start on boot.
Easiest to use equaliser for someone who knows nothing. As others have said could offer choice of separate left/right equalisation. Help doesn't quite fit on Note 9 screen (default setting). I've no idea if what to do when 0 is reached and test sound is still heard, or if I can't hear the test at either 0 or 100, or what the starting volume should be. On reflection the sound results were a bit flat and using Samsung's built in adjustments produced a richer result.
Exceptional quality and easy to use! I downloaded this app not thinking too much, but in just 2 minutes I had a song that sounded flat filling my ears with a ton of depth and I let out an audible 'wow' This really changed the listening experience and brought out parts of songs I didn't even realize were there. The quality of the singing and bass were brought out a lot and really made my headphone purchase worth while
Holy f------g hell. I was testing Neutralizer out and things seemed fine until I hit the edit profile pencil while audio was playing. It suddenly cranked the audio up to an insane level--it was actually quite painful. It was far, far louder than I've ever gotten audio from my phone before. Be careful! This was really very painful. On a Pixel XL, Android 9, Jet Audio Plus, Sennheiser Momentum M2. Easy to reproduce - - tap the pencil, audio is briefly pegged to a crazy level. I like listening to loud music, but this was way over the top.
It was hard at first but once you know what you're doing you can do great things with this. It does take a lot of time to create the equlizer for the according graph. But it was and does is great. But I kinda want a another option to if it's currently applied or not cuz my music player is not default to certain phones. So I do wish for the developer to recommend us a music player to go along with this if possible.
