Ok, but the add-on purchase option is missing. Export files to PDF could also be considered. However, for Markdown editing, it is the best possible app. Those who prefer the Markdown syntax system, know the value of such a great app.
This app is everything I was looking for past one month! The auto backup option to SD card is brilliant. Though the app looks hideous. Need much more work on the app design which includes the app icon. Need clean, minimalistic and modern look and colour schemes. The blue colour looks awful. Secondly, I hate the fact that the lower toolbar shows up by default. I would rather prefer a clean window but an option to turn it on for those who actually use it.
Perfect workhorse app. Migrated from Evernote, to Simplenote, now been using Neutrinote exclusively for over a year. Not very exciting on the surface, but again: my Android note-taking has been exclusively on Neutrinote for over a year now. I don't even *know* if there's better alternatives because I haven't felt the need to look. PLUSES: Fast; Maximalist (no endless submenus); Local note storage as .txt files (no server issues or DRM); No feature creep; Markdown (it's there if you need it).
Good: python support; md support; math notation support, small app footprint; friendly UX for productivity. I use it in conjunction with Obsidian and it is far better than the latter whose UI are not tailored for narrow screens. Bad: the main menu is extremely laggy once there's more a hundred of notes, I opened the directory with another md processing app (Jotterpad) and it was as smooth as butter. There needs to be an option to change the default directory or allow multiple directories.
after searching 10 apps I think I've found what I need, but the app advertises syncing to cloud such as Dropbox while I can't find any option for that in the app. I'd like to set a path in my Dropbox as the default root path for all my notes. Please let me know where I can sync to Dropbox. Thanks. (P.S.: Also I hate the icon animation when I come out of a note). P.S.: Okay I installed syncthing, really a bad idea, but anyway, now the plus button for adding a local repository path doesn't work.
Wonderful (rare) to have the cursor keeping its position in both views, even visible in read mode, even after the text is changed; allows the user to stay concentrated on her ideas rather than struggling scrolling up and down to recover the related text. Only dreams: an alphabetic sorting of lines inside files and a one-click date-time. Thank You for this marvellous app and kindest regards. 191210 edit: my dreams became true thanks to Dev's kind assistance.
Just the most amazing app if you are into writing, or even taking a lot of self-notes. Offline data saving, no hassle with network availability, saves files as textfiles on local memory. Minimalistic, but has the required features to customise. I owe a lot to the developer for making my life simpler. Kudos!
Good note app. The bad, for me, is the note list. The font size can't be changed. The texts are too small. I don't see why these be make bigger. Markdown view is buggy. On a dark native theme: Changing to markdown view yiels a blank white page. Touching the screen turns it dark. From then on nothing happen, no plain text nor M↓ text shows up.
Metadata is too complicated. I tried. Awesome, except it's missing categories. There is no way to group notes. Also, I'd like more font choices. I prefer this font here on the play store. A simple, sans serif, clean font like open sans.
Amazing app! i downloaded this app years ago for basic note taking but it is now my go to app for a multitude of things. It can do ALL the things. There is a slight learning curve but nothing to difficult. Developer is very responsive and helpful. Amazing work man!
Not particularly adaptable to opening .md files directly from the file manager. Also lacks a capacity to read folders for .md files. Not really what I was looking for, the sync capacity is for files created in the app, and not for externally synced .md files.
Great app with nice markdown support and global searching i! But I can't import .md files from storage, and all files saved as txt, which means I can't just sync those files to my pc or push them to git, I need to change file extension....
I've got my notes folder synced in mgit, so installed this, went into settings & tried to point the first setting (where my notes are) at that folder, but it won't let me... deducting 4 stars for not supporting notes created elsewhere... uninstalling & going back to GitJournal, where syncing does work (response to dev: I'm on Android 9 not 11, and yes storage permission was granted, yet it doesn't even offer me a way to pick a folder)
Crashes every time after refreshing the main page Update: now is good
The user interface and procedures are very clean, except the search and replace scheme. Also the undo function does nothing.
Just OK, if this app can allow user to configure option to save notes as ,md file instead of .txt file, would be better. Reply: I just tried your suggestion, I can see those .md files now. thanks~!
Very clean writing app for me. Through I can't found anyway to see the word count (for daily writing target). Hope to see it in a near future.
very user unfriendly. even creating a checklist is a big hassle. taking down 1 star from my previous 3 stars for overly complicated features. still works as a casual note taking app but others app can do it too and do it better.
Pros: advanced search, reasonable load time for long notes, easy ui. Cons: techie setup to begin with, not open source
Notetaking with extensive feature set! Good documentation and a responsive developer, what's not to like :-)
C'mon 4.5 rating for this app? Should be 4.9. I know there's a bit of learning curve but this app is class apart from other mobile apps both in it's category as well as among the award winners or trend setters.
Too bad I can't set local repository path in my SD card. Otherwise, nice app
Edited my review (+1 star). My only complain now is that it doesn't parse consecutive lines as a single paragraph. It's just not the way Markdown does
I love your app. Simple yet powerful. I hope there is archieve functionality
Repository model is cumbersome. Not correct display of tables and equations
Some learning curve at first, otherwise very handy.
I've always been looking for a LaTeX editor. This one's the best!
OG note taker / android owner who always liked the simplicity and portability of plain text. Decided to give neutrinote a spin with first md created in windows in vs code. Used neutrinote to add a table and some heading and highlight modifications. Neutrinote is well-designed and intuitive.
