After installing problems started. It would not recognize my main media folder (for my security, it claims) but would recognize files on my SD card. I continued with the evaluation, tho and within minutes, it told me that my trial had expired. It's supposed to be for 5 days. I cleared the cache (as recommended), that didn't work. I went to the user forum to get some assistance, but after seeing the number of people with this problem after they paid for it, I'm turned off. Uninstalling.
The trial lasted less than an hour despite having an internet connection. Going into an elevator seems to have caused the problem. I'm not putting any more effort into dealing with this. The developer needs to get their house in order; this is a pathetic deficiency when one is trying to evaluate a $10 piece of software.
Heard this app is the best for the audio quality. Even thought about buying it. But for the love of God, do make a change about the ui. Is like going back in time, in a bad way. You use your futuristic phone, that runs android 12 and then you enter the app. Is like going back to android honeycomb.
With great features and sound, should not fail at some basic fundamentals. Older versions won't allow keyboard to pop up - which makes searching for something impossible. Newer versions fixed this BUT (in newer versions) casting to network devices aborts when you select a device. Casting worked perfectly in older versions. These things should not be problematic. Especially when you've shown you can get it right. But, apparently not at the same time.
The best app ever . Awesome sound output. I have been using power amp for few years but this one beats it up
This app has MANY great audio features, and there is no other app like it that doesn't require root access. The only problem is the extremely unintuitive design. The app is difficult to navigate through, and the button placement is messy. Making playlists and finding songs is annoying because of the terrible layout. Also, playlist albums can't be sorted by alphabetical order. Other than that, the app is great.
Makes the songs sound great. The reason for 2 stars is the usability. It's really, really terrible. Trying to create a playlist is 100% overly complecated. If the developers make the UI more user friendly this would be 5 stars. For this reason I won't be paying for this. I'll probably uninstall it too as it's just so frustrating to use.
Wow! Most of my favorite podcasts have bad production. Compression is a necessity. A long time ago I gave up looking for a portable solution. Until now I have never seen an audio player with this much control of the audio. There's high pass, low pass, two EQs with Q level control, and a compressor. You can even change the sequence of these effects. Amazing!
It's pretty excellent. The only player I've found with a compressor / limiter. I would prefer that the compressor and limiter stages were separate, with optional auto-make-up on the compressor stage, and a preamp on the limiter (because I prefer not to use make-up gain) to push the compressor output up into the limiter... otherwise, 5 stars, I'll be buying the full version. Thanks devs! <3
Absolutely horrible user interface. I didn't get a chance to really test the features of the app, because the GUI had me taking 2x-4x as long to do something as it would in other music apps, and I gave up out of frustration. Seriously guys, fix the GUI, please. It feels like it was designed in the Android Gingerbread days, and hasn't been updated much since. I love features and customization, and an app can have that without feeling this convoluted.
I'm on the fence here, the sound with the DAC and klipsch XR8i headphones is amazing. But the UI is 😩😩😩😩😩 How is no option to sort the library by alphabet or and option to import. CUE playlist files from other players. I been using PowerAmp player for years and that one is user friendly, it gives you the option to sort stuff. but doesn't have the option to enable a DAC. Why is this world like this. I don't know if the buttons she vizualizer will growth on me..I'm use the clean menu.
I was about to buy this app because it's freaking awesome but then all the sudden it wouldn't play music and won't import my playlist, not even If I drop a copy in this apps playlist file. Just a bump in the road because the apps overall potential is much greater than the rest of the apps I've tried, and there has been a ton of em!!!!
An avid Poweramp user, first app I ever paid for, and only app I ever used. But was disappointed by the clipping when going for loudness. And the limiter, while working, really lowered the volume to an underwhelming level. Neutron on the other hand has great customization in terms of compression and eq, now I can get that high volume without any clipping. Planning on purchasing this app. Highly recommended for users that are familiar with audio compression. Great job to the developers.
I'm only giving it one star so this review gets more attention. Feature and sound quality wise, this app is the best probably. But man, the UI and UX are the worst I have ever used. Menus don't have any order, buttons constantly change places, it has way too many useless options, and it's overall confusing and ugly . I'm all about being able to configure apps just how I like it but this thing is chaos. Get a designer that can help you improve the design and usability of this app. Please!
Such a shame.. it really does sound better than Poweramp or any other android music player out there both with and without headphones on. But the interface is so horrible. If the devs would make it usable and easy to navigate for the average user I'd definitely pay and ditch Poweramp for this. For now, I'm sticking to Poweramp due to ease of use and pretty interface.
Music customization options in this app, and their effect on the music playback is really mind blowing. My phone most probably have a subpar bluetooth module and whichever player i used, music just sounded flat with my wh1000xm3. Enter Neutron. Music output is so much better with this player. Had to google the effect of all the options available in this app; but at the end of the day, they had a phenomenal effect on music output. Never paid for an app before. Happy to pay for this app.
So far this app seems great. It plays my DSF and Hi Res FLAC files perfectly on my Pixel 2 XL using only the stock Google USB-c dongle and Sony MDR-7506 Headphones. Obviously these should go through a good DAC, but I'm just testing apps ATM. There are so many audio settings, and the EQ is great. I don't understand the complaints about the UI; it's not that much different from any other player. My only complaint is the pop-up when you plugin the headphones. That's just annoying. Don't do that
This may be the MP3 player I've been searching for years! Simple yet powerful interface, with equalizer that gives you a lot of control was disappointed to see four bands of frequency but the equalizer has virtually infinite settings that by clicking away from the slider and enter into a graph type equalizer. I'm using the eval version I will definitely buy this after testing this for a few playlist
I couldn't hear any sound improvement maybe it's due to the android and cheap vivo earphone but I use Musicolet and its UI is far better easier to use. Video files should not be scanned. Progression bar should be more sensitive. I suggest customised option to make the progression bar a bit diagonal according to thumb position to make it longer and more efficient. It is using an image from the folder as the album art in the floating bar even after disabling the album art preference.
I've started playing with the DragonFly Black DAC and his app connects to the USB DAC correctly. Although you can set the sampling rate manually, the app doesn't switch the sampling rate when you switch source, but just resamples by default. The app would be perfect when it would: 1. Follow source frequency default when DSP supports this 2. Allow other apps to channel music trough the driver. (or offer the driver as separate app)
Incredibly packed full of useful features. I particularly love the ability to find and use EQ already created by others. But the UI seems to be highly 'original' - as in a completely unfamiliar design language that makes me question if they've ever used an app before. There are buttons with misleading icons and no text, and complete lack of user feedback when something has errored or is taking a while. I can't get any of the network stuff working (no error either), which is another deal breaker.
