The game is no different than the original computer version in 2000 in terms of gameplay, with a few exceptions. But this isn't a bad thing, they have updated some of the character models, remastered some of the dlc, and the game runs smoother now than it ever has. The game was buggy back in 2000, the devs have done unparalleled work with this game, it's worth the money, worth the try. I don't have the world's fastest or most updated Android, yet the game runs well with graphics on almost high.
Right out of the gate, this game is tough to play on my device (phone)...interface is definitely not optimized for this. Tutorial is not especially useful when it comes to some things, and there are already a number of glitches. Wish I hadn't purchased it.
I've loved this game for a long time, but it suddenly stopped working on my phone this week. Half of the error message is cut off onscreen, so I have no idea what to do to solve it. *Edit* finally works again and the new interface with all the user-made content is incredible! Great job!
It's so great to be able to play this on the go. This was my introduction to Infinity Engine games (although this is the successor engine Aurora), and I have a real soft spot for it despite the fact that it isn't quite as great as Baldur's Gate and Planescape. It's a piece of history that is well worth the price of admission to check out. Without this game there would be no Knights of the Old Republic or Jade Empire, and as such it plays like a sort of cross between KotOR and Baldur's Gate.
Love the game but suddenly can't get in to a module I've been playing for a while. Others on pc can but I can't. They said it might require an update to the app to catch up with the pc version. Please help
I can't see equipment tab on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7, anyone know how to set the game to see the whole screen? The tablet resolution is 2000x1200, and I don't know if the game has option to change the resolution of the game to fit better. Even if it was possible, I am not going to alter my tablet resolution to make it less than 2000 x 1200.
This feels like a legitimate attempt to bring all the great things I remember about NWN to Android/mobile. Many ports are a humorous attempt to sell the games of the past. Recently purchased. NWN classic player. 100% satisfied with the purchase. Thanks! No issues, so far, for me - technically speaking.
I checked the refund policy first because I wasn't sure I wanted to play this again, I first got NWN sometime in 2004. Well that was silly, I've hardly played through the prologue I'm in love again! 5 stars for nostalgia done properly. The latest patch adds a browser for downloading community content that is incredible!
After the bug fix with the game crashing at start screen. I come back in to find my characters load is gone. I put some time in on thay character. Wth guys? Game works great now but still rather upset about losing a character I had near end game.
It took me some getting used to, but after figuring out how everything works it's without a doubt the most packed game in the playstore, 120 hours of original content in the basic download, for completionists 170 hours of optional priemiem content, and over 250 hours and growing in free, ya free content, anyone thinking 10 bucks is too much is an idiot,๐ also though I don't care for console commands, for people having some trouble there easily usable and most are already in the game ready to go
Used to be hooked to this game on PC so I'm glad to see it on mobile. There is a problem with the inventory in SoU (haven't tried other campaigns yet): if I place an item on top of another one it disappears completely. Fortunately I'm a spastic saver but it is still very annoying, enough to knock a star off my score at least . Then there's the issue of the main character not wanting to run, but to me that's a minor inconvenience (and also relatable).
Hi, Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos) keeps crashing. 100% without fail. Please fix, I love this game its one of the best on play store, can't believe we can play it on mobile now! ๐
Your latest update made this game unplayable , when i open inventory/chests, half of the items is looking like white square boxes and until you press on them you dont know what they are , also every light source like lamps torches, now looks like yellow pixalated space - to put in one word : horrible , and it wasnt like that before. Ive got Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5g , so no... its nothing to do with phone capabilities. SORT OUT THE GAME OR REFUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!
A great port of NWN from 16 years ago! I remember trying to play it on a laptop back then, and it would hardly run well without tweaking the settings way down. Now it runs smoothly on max settings on my Pixel Slate! (Yeah -- they say no Chrome OS suport, but it works very well on the Slate. Which is good, because the Slate is probably the best Android tablet you can get.) The controls take a little getting used to (or remembering). Keyboard controls aren't really supported if you attach a keyboard, but some keys work as expected. I didn't have any problem with switching to and from the game and other apps, but there's no reason not to save frequently, either. I haven't tried any of the multiplayer options. Great port; looking forward to some time to play a little. :)
The UI needs a serious overhaul! the changing of the font to a practical size makes it impractical to make a selection on multiple choice. It makes the game hard to impossible to play accurately. I brought it installed it played for an hour, got frustrated and uninstalled. I will wait and see what updates bring? hopefully this is something that is addressed.
A competent CRPG of the golden era ported to the modern mobile century. 4.5/5 stars for me. Initially I had a hard time getting used to the touch controls to play it on my 10.5 inch Samsung A tablet. The main issue is with the camera panning control... it should be reversed IMO. But once I got used to it, the game itself is almost as good as the original can expect to be played on a mobile platform. The game can be taxing for low-end devices. My mid-range Samsung A stutters in places where there are a lot of enemies on screen and this game should definitely be played on at least a 7~8 inch phone/tablet. Anything smaller I imagine you'll have a hard time managing the inventory menus. It is absolutely worth the money. It's a lot of original content for what it's asking. Nothing is "randomly-generated" and it delivers a good story line. It's great to re-experience NWN again, just like all the Baldur's Gate I&II/IWD/Planescape Torment I bought. I even tried it on Bluestack and it works on desktop PC!
love the game, however there are a few issues. The pathfinding is simply terrible, be prepared for clicking 2-3m ahead of your character, any further and your character won't move at all. And whoever thought it was a good idea to split the screen into left and right for continuous control and rotation should rethink their career choice. Continuous control should be located around the character or in the middle of the screen, so that it's more intuitive for control. Hope these get fixed someday...
Okay so its literally Neverwinter Nights, but its on your phone. Gameplay is identical to how it is on PC. The UI has some very minor design changes to facilitate playing on a touchscreen but I've never felt like I had to struggle with it, its very natural. One request: this has no support for DeX mode, which came as a surprise considering that this game was ported from desktop PCs. Being able to use the classic PC interface when a mouse/keyboard is detected would be very convenient.
After the big update (where now you can use an onscreen joystick for movement), the game is much more playable. It would be good if you could move with the joystick and also rotate the view at the same time. Since this is a port of the PC game, yes, the experience is better on a larger device but you can enjoy it somewhat on a 6 inch device of you have good eyesight.
Good port, as long as you understand it IS a port. There are issues to be aware of. First, controls are not as easy as made out. Rotating the camera is tedious, and more often than not results in you moving the character unintentionally. Same with zoom. At least on my Pixel C, rotating by swiping the screen edge rarely works. Instead try swiping close to the character. Second, taps sometimes take two or more taps to execute commands (opening chests, collecting loot, or even just moving). Probably because the game is originally designed for a mouse and not my fat fingers. There are other minor issues as well, but if you can get used to the quirks it is a fun game. The only real issue I have is with the Pixel C keyboard the game crashes on the save dialog and if the keyboard is disconnected, so I would advise those users just remove it or disable bluetooth before playing.
This looks like the complete port of the PC game, with the only changes being related to the tutorial and controls. Hundreds of hours worth of content. Playing on a phone (Samsung S7), and it works fine, although a touch stylus makes it a lot more enjoyable. Save often and learn to use the hot keys bar if you've never played before. I think it's actually easier to use on a touchscreen than on the PC version.
I had expectations and I wasn't disappointed! The game is faithful reproduction of the classic, with updated engine (free camera rotation) and some improvements for touch interface. The touch experience could be better, especially picking up stuff from the ground should be easier. Attaching a mouse and keyboard to the phone helps. What I do complain about is the power management - this game chews through battery in no time. What is worse, when the phone is low on power, the game starts crashing
really needs new menu icons and reworked controls. otherwise a good port. not improved afer like a year, and doesn't look like it will be. Also, I don't care about the IOS version, so why would telling me you're working on that instead of this is a bad idea. Edit: performance and interface seem much improved since the recent update, looks like they haven't given up on it after all!
I'm a lifelong fan of NWN, so it'll come as no surprise that I was super stoked it arrived on Android. However, it was designed for PC and not mobile gaming, thus retaining its original dynamic controls. These could do with an overhaul to suit mobile gaming as it makes progress sluggish and combat gruelling. It's also full of bugs, but so was the PC version. The HUD interface is tricky to handle. I'll always love this game but it does need an overhaul for proper playability on Android. Thanks BD!
Very disapoonting. Maybe for a tablet it would work but for mobile it's terrible. The text has not been converted for such screen reduction making it unreadable. Touch zones are tiny making dialogue choices and targeting almost impossible and I have a pretty large mobile screen. Half the time you trying to turn camera you will strafe instead (shuffle left or right without changing facing). Inventory management is terrible. A brilliant game ruined by poor execution.
