New ilumi App

The lightbulb itself and the color and schedule options are great. However, the app you need to use it from is extremely glitchy. Customer service is very slow and at times completely unresponsive (another glitch from submitting tickets and replies through the app? Who knows). It's been over a year with no updates to fix any of the bugs at all, which is disappointing because it has a lot of potential. Not always worth fighting with the app to actually get it to work. Also, poor connectivity.

I've had these bulbs for going on three years now. They worked really well when I first got them, but as updates came through they started working less and less. The bulbs are extremely unresponsive. The app works 10% of the time, which makes turning them on, off, and changing color a battle of wills. Extremely cool when they work, but I would recommend against buying them simply based on the fact that they are hardly functional at best.

I bought this so that I could schedule morning sunrise effects. It doesn't turn on when it's supposed to more than half the time. There's no way to check if it's synced, as the app shows it as scheduled even when not synced. ilumi support has been unable to fix it. Also, even for turning bulbs on, off, or changing the colour, I have to press the button multiple times before it responds. It's a pain to spend 30 seconds to turn a light on or off. I definitely would not recommend this product.

Still having these same issues 5 months later.. I love the idea of app controlled lighting, but ilumi is incredibly buggy. My schedule stops working regularly, the effect or preset doesn't always change when I try to set it to something else, and the brightness doesn't react to changes at times. The app itself will respond to these taps, but the light doesn't. "New" ilumi is better than the original one, but there are still lots of bug fixes that need to be worked out.

The app is very buggy with spotty connectivity to the bulb. Often I will not be able to connect to the ilumi bulb at all, making it a very expensive regular bulb. I made a schedule for the bulb to turn on and then off at specific times. Generally, it will turn on but will not turn off, so the bulb will run for long periods of time until I manually turn it off (often with the wall switch, because again, inconsistent connectivity). Overall I find the app to be glitchy, and while it theoretically has some nice features, the frustration of using the app is very off putting. Unless there are serious improvements in functionality, I cannot see myself purchasing any more ilumi bulbs or recommending their purchase to anyone else.

I tried added a favorite to my schedule, but as soon as the app sends the schedule over bluetooth, the app crashes and will not open again. I had to uninstall and reinstall, I tried scheduling the favorite again and the same thing happened. This app needs a major update. It has been 2yrs since a firmware update, so I am wondering what happened to the company and wish I bought a different brand.

App is complete junk. I have worked with multiple home automation systems and the ilumi is by far the worst. Bulbs are not responsive to the app. You must be next to them to make any changes. Scheduling is hit or miss, as it will only save the settings sometimes. I am using this app with the outdoor bulbs.

Worked well when I first got it but has since been abandoned with a list of bugs. Every day the bulb turns on by itself, per the schedule I set last year to help me wake up for work. When I try to delete the schedule so I have full control of the bulb at all times, it will say its deleted. Every morning I wake up to it at 100% brightness because the schedule wasn't actually deleted. I rarely even turn the lamp on anymore so I don't have to deal with it turning itself on and off.

I have had my bulb for a long time now but there hasn't been any new settings for it in a long time. Would be nice if there was. I would like for it to slowely go through all the colors it can do. Maybe make a preset that does it. I know there are presets already but not that great of ones. They are either too flashy or too dark. And the fireworks one would be so much better if it was more like fireworks.a burst of color then a slow fade or one that burst color then sparkles.

Terribl app/product. 1) I set a schedule with it and it will not delete, it's been a year and I always try deleting it and it always comes back and turns on at 4am 2) There are multiple White's. However no matter what you choose you will have to click it 5 time to work, and then change the brightness to even to get it to work 3) there's only a color wheel, no real way to get a solid color, blue with a preset is actually a deep LED blue while when you pick blue on the color wheel it's never blue

Bluetooth mesh network doesn't respond well to app and doesn't integrate with Alexa as in-depth as wi-fi smart bulbs and switches. App takes too long to connect to bulbs and takes multiple attempts to get the bulbs to accept changes. Also would be nice to have a color temp scale and not preset whites. No good 2700k color to match landscape lighting. One positive thing is the lumen output is good in both white and color options. Purchased (3) BR30s outdoor version for driveway floods.

I've owned 2 of these lights for just over 2 years, paid $50 a piece for them at Best Buy. The app has many problems and it hasnt been updated in nearly 2 years. Constant connectivity problems and they turn on/off at random times. Colors do not match between the 2 bulbs. I'd take the bulbs back if I could, you're better off with Amazon lights.

Love the bulb and the colors but this app is horrendous it absolutely will not work half the time I select anything at all. I've lowered the brightness several times for me to move on and find it go back to fill brightness less than a few minutes later. I can't switch theiugh the whites because they wont change and half the colors don't switch as well 🙃

I am constantly uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Half of the time it works. My biggest complaint is that the notification of when it's running in the background is displayed on my notifications. AND I CANT GET RID OF IT without turning my bluetooth on. I'm traveling for work. I'm not turning my bluetooth on. Spend the money get the Phillips Hue.

Works most of the time. The effects tab fails to load sometimes which gets annoying. Other than that it's just ok. Wish there was more options on effects or a custom option for effects. Not a lot of support as far as updates and fixes. 2½ stars.

lights are good. The app is wonky. It has a mind if its own. Workout the app bugs, like selecting a color and nothing happens, turning light on/off randomly works, and all out no response without app restart. Keep at it, you'll get it. Overall cool ideas with preset colors.

pretty decent, beautiful colors, decent options. Main drawback is music effect (which is amazing) only integrates with spotify and offline mp3 files, not with any customizable streaming app. ive been using it for 4 years now, would like a customizable effect builder. otherwise its been great so far.

A little buggy but when it works its just as functional as my lifx and hue bulb and apps. BUT I have been unable to sign in and use the app for quite a while now and I have sent an email to support about the issue with no response. Right now the light is unusable for colors until the issue gets resolved. When eroding properly this is a 5+ star app.

It was difficult to pair the bulbs, I had to reset more than once to get started. I'm trying to keep the bulbs in one setting and it's still changing colors! The app or bulbs lags when I enter a command and updating the bulb's firmware is impossible! The cheaper Magic Bulbs app worked better than this and it's cheaper too!

Could be better... Works pretty well with my bulb, but you have to be pretty close to the bulb when you're updating firmware. I think a visual overhaul of the interface is needed and also updated effects or at least the ability to creat your own effects sequence.

Surpasses my expectations honestly. I can set schedules for my morning routine. I can use it for decoration for the holidays. They were super easy to learn in. If you want bluetooth lights these are the way to go! The app is super user friendly. You won't regret this one!

App needs help connecting to spotify in my personal opinion. But great colors, bulls are a bit heavy, and they dont get too warm. Overall it's nice for the price (I got them for free). If you can soend the extra penny go for Phillip's home set up. But overall i cant complain considering. Side note: You can't turn a hoe into a house wife. Because it's a yard tool.

The interface is a bit of a pain. Seems like it could be streamlined to make things a little easier. I've deleted a schedule I'd set up but no matter what I do it keeps following that schedule I keep deleting. It's incredibly frustrating.

I had set my light bulb to turn on in the morning for work. I have not been working for over 4 weeks because of Coronavirus and every time I try to delete my schedule, it continues to turn on anyway. I have deleted the schedule every day for weeks and once I close the app and log back in, the schedule is back on. I am tired of the light turning on at 6:30 every morning. Will be switching back to a regular bulb because the app is stupid.

I was a little skeptical of the way the device worked at first. Once I flowed through the settings and the way the lights would respond to my inputs it was truly amazing. Good job on the designers of this product.

I can't even use my ilumi light bulb because the app login service doesn't work. The Facebook login feature is implemented incorrectly, and trying ti log in manually or create a new account returns the message "Failed to log in" or "Failed to create account." This app hasn't been updated in a year and a half and I doubt they'll ever fix it.

I'm enjoying the application, it needs a bit of fixing on some things but overall it works awesome. like the schedule of lights. many colors to choose from and easy to manage the app from the phone.

I tried setting my light to turn on with my alarm, but it won't let me delete the settings. This is very unfortunate because after two days where I had to be at work early, regardless of how many times I try to delete the setting, I get woken up by the light at full brightness Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5am.

I've been using ilumi for about a year lately it has been glitchy some times I'm asleep and it turns on on it's own with colorful lights also the app keeps using my microphone and randomly playing my music playlist and hanging up my calls the bulb itself is very expensive and handy but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else because for the price this app should be A1 please make some updates
