What is LEEVE?
LEEVE is a free mobile app to meet native speakers nearby and make new international friends.
LEEVE can be very effective if you couple it with other learning language apps. After learning some basics or skills in class, with other learning language apps or with other learning language websites, you can easily apply them and effectively accelerate your progress through meetings and language practice.

Why should I use it?

How does it work?

2: LEEVE will match you with 10 Leevers who speak the languages you are willing to learn.
3: Click on LEEVE, chat with them, meet them in real life!
How is LEEVE different from the other meeting/language apps?
Practising: Feeling alone learning a language? You can talk to a real person with the same hobbies and language interests as you.
10 Leevers selected per day:
To get relevant and qualified profiles we choose to select 10 Leevers for you every day who speak your wishing languages.
Map: There is a map called the « Leeve Map ». On the map, you can see the 10 Leevers selected for you every day, within 250km from you (marked in red).
Practice, learn and meet English, Japanese, Spanish, German, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Arabic, Polish, Italian, Russian, Korean... near you.
The Leever values:
- Be open-minded and kind.

- Report the Leevers who haven't the Leevers' values
The objective is to meet in person. Discover your different cultures, traditions and languages. Feel free to ask the person to go for coffee, a walk or just to see a movie at the movies.
Once you are in contact with a native speaker of the desired language, you will begin to learn and practice immediately from your first meeting. LEEVE is changing the way people learn languages with the deep desire to open up certain communities for individual and societal well-being and balance.

I like the idea, but it's not currently very usable as a language exchange app because there's no way to filter people by what language they speak or are learning. The only thing you can search by is country, so you're just left to scroll endlessly through profiles when most of them don't match the languages you want to learn. It seems fine for making international friends, but until the search system is improved, it doesn't work for language exchange.
This app is somewhat like Tinder in that it's either MEET or PASS. As a bit of a shy introvert with some anxiety issues, this format wasn't really suitable for me. It's unknown if selecting PASS means denying the person access to you entirely from that point, which might not always be your intent or desire, or if it's simply not sending them a friend request, which, given my personality, is preferable. I was not able to go beyond seeing my first closest "match" as I feared a rejection.
The app is showing only people living at 500km from me, so this is totally useless. I am in Paris so can't believe there aren't options nearby, but the app just won't show them ... Edit 13 December: the answer of the developers is completely unsatisfactory. I tried the Premium trial and no, it did NOT show me any user living in Paris, it continued showing people living hundreds of kilometers away. I guess this is a bug but at least you could recognize that there is a problem.
It takes forever to get replies. Thats very boring for someone who wants to learn a language pretty fast
Cannot access profile to change languages. The suggested solution does not work. The app is glitchy and unusable. I sent you the screenshot, but I am not sure it will show you that I am unable to interact with the screen and make the profile appear.
The ads are a little troublesome in the app, however the reason cutting one star is the non availability of majour sign in options, I believe the developers could get more sign in options available to the app and that would help out eventually to them too. Overall App concept is great!
The app style&nature is interesting, then the reviews are impressed. I entered to this app a week ago, I have been sending request to people who can speak English with me so far. Sadly noone accept my request till yesterday. Tonight I got one accepted and we could give small talks, exchange experience. He mentioned, he also didn't get friend except me. We don't know what is happening on this app. Most people are not using longer? And the next thing is the messaging system is not smooth as well.
This is a great app. I'm learning Spanish, and Leeve helps me connect with native speakers to practice my conversation skills and make new friends. It'll also be great for newcomers who want to meet others who speak the same language. The app looks great and works well. 5*
I can't even find my profile or the settings of the app. It is not intuitive at all. Wanted to try it out but this makes it really annoying. Also, the app is extremely slow, I have to press buttons multiple times to make them work. How on earth do I delete my account here?
Great app! I am an au pair in France. I was alone with my host family since 2 months, they are very nice but I wanted to meet other French people of my age... Apitu shows us this app to make new international friends nearby. I am glad I am on Leeve! Thanks a lot, I think it's a great idea for people like me. Maintenant je parle français un peu! 😊

Helps me meet new friends and learn new languages! User interface is very clean and easy to use :) So far managed to picked up a few basic phrases for french.
Great app to make new friends nearby! I use it during my trips (in Europe). But as well before my trips, in London (my city) to meet some foreign people to practice languages with them!

Ok I guess this app is interesting but the "sign in with Facebook" button does nothing at all when clicked. I hope they fix this. Also if they use OAuth this way, why not adding at list "sign in with Google" option? Thank you
Interesting idea with great potentials for helping travelers. Some bug fixing is required and translation of terms of use in english
Very nice app for learning new languages and meeting new people. But the UI in my opinion with some optmitzacion can improve a lot.

I am going to Vietnam soon! Thanks to Leeve I met Vietnamese in Rennes to know the basics :) I can't wait to be there and meet local people on Leeve. It will be amazing to have a translator on the app and a record voice!! I just try the new update, you did a good improvement, keep doing it!

This is a great app to help meet new people traveling that can assist you with the language. Good UI design and easy to use.
The idea is great, but how the app works is making me sad.Because it's slow as hell on my phone, it swallows voice messages in the half of the cases, it takes ages to send and refresh even simple text messages. But the worst bug now it keeps deleted profiles in you match list. My list of contacts gets more and more "this user Is no longer." lines. And you can't read messages, you can't delete the conversation. It's just stuck there. Hope your app will get better and better, so I can give 5/5.
