New Oxford American Dictionary

This app will be a greater tool if it can allow you to browse words and move backward and forward from any given word as you can certainly do in any digital book. If you plan to study, for example, any series of words from A to Z, you have to scroll endless every time to get to the desire word, because you cannot "bookmark" the last word or a particular word you read or study. Yeah, you can search individual words and even read a few similar spelt words.

Can't even tell how good the dictionary is, since every time I look something up it's overwritten with a notice saying to pay the company for the premium app, and if I try to go back to the screen without the overlay the whole bloody app closes. This is a sham . To say in-app ads is ridiculous when the only thing you can see is the ad for their premium edition. Uninstalled!

Mostly works as intended. A big complaint is the huge button to share an entry which covers the contents, hurting the main use of the app. The last thing I'm interested when using a dictionary is to share it on social apps, that should be simply an option in a menu, not the most prominent feature.

There are some issues with the app to develop. First, if you copy a word in the app, it doesn't show the results you have to delete at least one letter from the end of the word to have results. Second, it would be better if the app open the keyboard when you open it, at least you can add feature for it. Thanks.

This application is much easier to look at and find out related tenses with a swift move compare to the Oxford Advanced Learners'. I have a sense of clean empathetic to the users without ads. Thanks a lot and would buy this application. I must arrange for a visa card to pay for it.

1. The ads are obnoxious, at times full screen, the app has both regular and self advertising ones. 2. When if I paid the offline dictionary can only be installed on the internal memory. I don't think so.

A very president flesh messenge that offers to get a premium takes me out the app right away after i try to skip it by tapping on an empty place on the screen. It happens every time i open the app and i attempt to search anything so I can't use it at all. Uninstalled it forever!

This dictionary PERFECTLY describe the pronunciation of General American ! That's perhaps, the main reason why I downloaded this app, to perfect my pronunciation. Nonetheless, it explains the different meanings of words, gives some phrases, idioms and phrasal verbs related to the word . This dictionary is really gold to me.

Missing multi-device sync. But the rest features are beyond than just good. This dictionary has the best pronunciation functionality than any other dictionary in the world. Thank you!

Very concise and clear definitions, even with examples that make them clearer. This is just the best dictionary in the world, which is what I've looking for very long. Whatever the price, it worth it!!

I do not believe a dictionary app needs access to my photos, contacts, or files, so I denied permission. Consequently, it will not install. Why would they want access to users' personal data like this?

Really good to me for it's easy to use, gives pronunciation and a whole lot. Suggest the offline version could also help when there is no data. Thanks

This app is pretty much complete. although the pronunciation of some words is a little confusing due to the quality of the audio it is still worth the paid version.

I was not able to open the "New Oxford American Dictionary" because I would not give permission to access my photos, contacts and files. None of that has anything to do with improving their dictionary!

It has a bug. Words in the favourite folders get mixed or some of them will be deleted. It's really exasperating for me because I'm an english learner and wanted to review my favourites but all my words got mixed together or deleted.

My only problem is that I can't copy some part of the definition unlike the Oxford Dictionary app. This app only has the overall copy. Nonetheless, this is an impeccable dictionary.

Good product but it is very annoying that it always requests to be reviewed; besides, the Wiktionary app is an excellent and free alternative.

Meanings & synonyms r not shown quickly and many a times ads keep dominating. Quite a few times these r shown for mini fraction of a second. Pl take corrective action at the earliest.

I've disabled all notifications within the app and also from the Android settings and it still gives me notifications. How is this even permitted? Makes me wonder what permissions it's hijacking that I don't even know about.

The best dictionary app in android. I have tested 30+ dictionary apps and this one suited best for me. Only downside is that you have to buy it to use offline. Can you give me a promo code for free?

I find this app very helpful. In a nutshell, it's a good one for enriching the vocabulary having all the necessary features in it.

it doesn't limit on definition only. it gives phrases and sentences that are useful for my understanding and speaking.

I wanna learn American accent via this app but there aren't so many words pronounced well .. I need American pronunciations. but here..nope .. Indispensable for any user of the English language. Superior from a legal viewpoint regarding use of English words and idioms to the Oxford Dictionary of English (which still has some validity as a precursor to this version).

Its really cool nd accessible. Tough the adss are a junk. But overall the pronunciation nd description are perfect.

A brand new dictionary of American is best to look for a words in my notebook can do anything lately before I will to joined with least one person to find a job in the university.The New Oxford American Dictionary is better than like the other book because I will to find a words for the jobs to the notebook or journal make sure all of words look in this dictionary or as a Google after everything situation of a particular things for my career.

I have to give a freaking dictionary app access to my "photos media and storage?" ...Are you insane? Why on earth would you force those types of intrusive permissions on your users who just want to look up words? Uninstalling...

it's so practical for me. it has several meanings of each word. it has phonetics. it pronounces words too. this dictionary is the best that I have seen.

This is really a modern dictionary of New American language. I love the app, I wish I could give it 10 stars. Can you create this style app for other languages?

I hate this app. This app is so annoying beacuse without data I can't check the meaning of any word. I have to on my data to check meaning of words. So annoying.
