This had to be the worst app ever. Paid for a subscription, and as soon as I want to read an article, I'm asked to pay more money.. Definitely uninstalling..
Very nice app. Paper is laid out really nice.
Just got off the phone with customer service because app kept asking me to subscribe even though I am already a subscriber. I was told that the app no longer works with Android phones and there is no timetable for fixing it. No apology provided by customer service agent. He just acted like it was no big deal that it didn't work.
2/2019 updated version loads photos with no issues and format is definitely better! nice work NYDN! 👍👍 _______________________ The app is terrible. The news story lads but the accompanying photos don't. Funny how the ad photos load though...gotta get paid, right! 😒😒
No major issues with the current version of the app. It needs to be updated to include the new "Evening Edition" though.
I don't have a problem with the paper itself I just can't download it so when I'm on the train trying to read the paper I can't even read the thing and that's the only reason why I bought it that signs me up for a recurring subscription and doesn't notify me before taking the money I feel like that's stealing
I'm already subscriber, but am being asked to subscribe for $19.99 even after entering my login info. So it's $1.99/week that I already pay for to access the e-paper plus $19.99 to use the app??? No thanks. Used to be a reliable app, now I'm uninstalling it.
Would be nice if you could add a dark mode option when you're reading in text mode.

The daily news app is better then going actually going out to buy the real daily news paper
This app crashes way too frequently. Quite annoying.
The UI looks messy and it's awkward to use.
GARBAGE!! PAID AND FREE VERSION.. when you pay for an app you expect to see the new news content each day..Not this app..
The Daily News since I delivered it as a kid in Queens NYC back in the 60's to today it brings NYC and the World to your fingertips like no other Newspaper.
Just nice to have the news at the tap of a button

It's now 2020 and the NY Daily News app is the next best thing to being back in NYC reading the paper with a fresh bagel & coffee...I actually ponied up for a subscription & it's worth it.
Please fix this app. I'm a subscriber and it constantly ask me to sign up for a trial.
This app is 110% worse than the previous format! Now this app is almost as bad as the print edition is, and that's not a good thing. A good newspaper gone down the toilet both print version, and now on line. Total shame because i've been a reader of the print version since the early 1970's R.I.P. Daily News
I found the app page while trying to figure out access the NYDN subscription.. on my Windows PC. The top review by Staley states that customer service told him that the app doesn't work with Android anymore, and that's why it keeps asking to subscribe even though they already had. This is exactly what's happening on Windows 10 in chrome and Firefox. NYDailyNews needs to fix it's entire account system, don't give them money until then. Update in February. This problem still persists. Now try to cancel.. their website won't let you. I haven't had time but got a wakeup call with a $15 sub charge. Okay thats on me. Site says 'status of your subscription is: Active'. Billing says "You are enrolled in EZ Pay, autopayments". Only option says 'Update Payment Profile'. When I click: 'Not Eligible for EZPay. Only Active subscriptions can sign up for EZpay." Their customer service system is a joke, it starts voice activated but doesn't recognize my voice ever, you have to wait for it to give up and then give you number options. Just to tell you after 20 minutes of this that they are closed. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO DIGITAL NY DAILY NEWS.
