Great escape room story. Great graphics and animation. Too many scenes with a tiny object to find. This leads to a click fest. Made it to the end of the story and lost one of my items. It was a coin needed to unlock a box in the mafia hangar. I put the coin in the box, but it just vanished. Now I'm stuck. SMH.
Visually stunning, love all the rooms and games you have to navigate. Some rooms/games could be a bit more intuitive, but understandably that's what makes the scenes more intriguing. Overall very cool, fun way to pass the time. Also, 10 coins seems excessive to get hints...just saying. ,
Interesting story and fun games...some are pretty challenging, so it might be good to have a pencil handy for jotting down sequences to remember. The bonus chapter was fun, too, but I had to skip the game with figurines in circles because it just wouldn't work. Even most of the walkthroughs I found skipped that one.
Great game. Love that I can play through and only have adverts when I need a hint. My only complaint would be that it was really dark and I needed my phone at full brightness to see sometimes. Not the worst thing, and isn't going to stop me downloading their other games. Good range of puzzles and the storyline was entertaining.
These are the most frustrating games. This is 3rd attempt of developers games. They can be fun bt this one in particular, I've spent more hours watching ads to get clues. NOT fun! Especially the puzzle clues require 10 ads to get one clue. That's 5 minutes each time. About 75% thru, just don't think it's worth more watching ads. I just re read lots of great reviews, it must be me?!? Someone said they did this in 2 hours without using the 5 first clues gifted, unbelievable 😳
I love this game 🤩 the art is great each room is beautiful and the cut scenes + music add ambience and depth to the story. Only problem I had was that I'm kind of dumb and had to use hints a lot lol but I guess the point is to use your brain🧠 . Overall great game and I'm excited to try the sequels . Thanks for making
It's too bad really. I was enjoying the game until an incredibly difficult puzzle came up. I guess it's meant to be so that you pay to "skip" it. I'm not gonna pay. So I guess I'm done with the game. I was willing to buy coins for hints. But in not too interested in being cornered and forced to pay to move on in a game. Cause it will happen regularly. Fix that and I'll play again.
Probably my least favorite so far. The story and setting are nice. I appreciate the difficulty being upped but it may just be too difficult to be enjoyable. I'll keep trying but may switch to a different five bn series before long.
Wonderful game. Great graphics and just the right difficulty. Only one annoyance, the hint button is to close to the edge and I hit it accidentally ALL THE TIME.
Really good game. A few issues but I solved it in the end. The bonus level was easy but a little tedious. Like the other games from this developer, the English isn't the greatest and its Ukrainian-American English rather than just the original, unpolluted British English. New York Mysteries 2 next.
I love that the game has a good story line good Graphics and u can play the whole story free only I don't like is that the adds for coins are so long for one coin I had to watch 45 video to get 45 coins just so I have it just in case I just couldn't figure a level that's my only issue other than that love the game so that's why this game gets 4 stars from me the adds are ok but I feel u should at least get 3 coins for a video or all should cost 1 coin or 2 for a puzzle u can't figure out
Love this game! No ads, gives you 5 hints to start and you don't have to pay to get more if you get stuck. Beautiful design and story. Interesting and makes you think just enough
Great game, super addictive and i LOVE that there are no ads. You only pay if you're an idiot and want to cheat because you can't figure out the puzzles.... I love the challenge!
Loved this game. My only complaint is I can't complete achievements because there doesn't appear to be an option for changing into hard mode.
Graphics are perfect. Story is interesting. Thank you for the hint button. Sometimes I lose my way. Lol All around great game!
LIVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. Im shocked at how well the puzzles execution are. But I hope more interesting plot are coming, not so much mystery bcus I can kinda guess the storyline. Im going off to play the NYM 2.
Good, but even the full version is greedy.. charges for hints and makes sure you need them. Move on to a game that has a bit more respect for its players.. Glad you so cheerful about being more expensive than games that are at least as good. Bye!
Excellent!! I play this game all the way through and I loved it. Great story, great challenges and doesn't force you to keep up with energy points. 100%
I like the idea behind this but I can't progress any further than where I am and it won't let me go back. I can't find any more of the clues to puzzles, which I suspect are in smaller spaces but I don't want to buy all of them.
To many glitches. Can't get flashlight to accept battery. Game stalls there. Hints didn't help. I've tried 4 other games. All hit stall points.
I love this game very much all puzzles are very interesting and different all other games that I play ever sometimes i have a headache but after careful consideration I can solve easily Thanku so much to read my feedback.
For those who love puzzles that's a game you must play. Already on the 3rd game of the series and loving it.
N. Y. M. 1, glitchy from the start. Just gave up when found items were removed from play entirely! Just gone! Leaves me in puzzles that I can't progress through. I love the 5BN games. (Lost Lands was amazing!) However, I experienced the same issue near the end of Darkness & Light 2. It begins to look like the development team has increasingly decided to aim for quantity vs quality. 5BN, wake up guys! You have had an exceptional product. Do more QC before you lose it all. OK?
Very Interesting! Not obvious, not a cliché, very coherent narrative and progression, good logic and clever puzzles. The only thing I did not like is that the hints are too expensive to be the way they are, making us to waste them. They are not clear about what to do next, many times it charges a coin just to get us to go to another cenary without explanatation. Then you have to expend another coin just get pointed an object you already tried and failed. Hints should be clear and helpfull.
I have played several games of this type over the last year. Others are way too expensive to play, and worse, you do not even know how much you are being charged per keystroke! What I love about New York Mysteries is... everything! The pricing, the artwork, the plot, the puzzles ( very unique, and challenging)! Though not mandatory, I have been very willing to pay to play. I have already played the main game, and the bonus game a few times, and it is still engaging!
The usual from Five BN, including beautiful graphics, but set in 1950's New York instead of a fantasy world. You even get to capture mobsters and save kids, which is neat. Some of the mini-games are a pain, but gameplay is easy. Edit: it's easier the 2nd time, but the fish on the door mini-game is still a pain. NOTE: in the mini-game on the ship's bridge, you *must* put the wire in place *before* you put the dial in, or you can't finish the mini-game; you'll need to restart the whole game.
