This time, finding item was harder. Voiceover, storyline and animation are improving. What I don't like is, while the scenes were played, my phone would sleep after few seconds, and i have to touch the screen to avoid sleep, the voice over and subtitle were skipped to the next line.
I spent over $5 for coins and I have a receipt yet, I never received the coins in game. I have reloaded the game several times and my purchase is not there. Google emailed me a receipt and your own game won't "allow" me to purchase the same deal because I've already purchased it. Either give me the coins I purchased or refund my money. Hopefully someone from your company reads this and does right by me, your loyal consumer that has downloaded all of your games so far and has spent actual dollars
Like the NY mysteries series Interesting storyline great graphics only one thing bugs me is using a hint going from room to room then using another hint to go on..overall it's a great game TY
I love all these games. I'm addicted to these puzzles! I have played all the darkness and fire and this series. I can't wait to play more.
There's a glitch where the pointer needs to pull down the screen to watch the video tape . Can't pull it down
Love this series, challenging at times but easier other times. The storyline is great.
Another solid entry to the series. Personally, I find New York Mysteries to be the most enjoyable title coming from the developers. The writing, which isn't their strongest suit if I'm to be honest, is better than that of Lost Lands or Darkness and Flame. Even their English seems to have improved dramatically. Backtracking is practically nonexistent. Puzzles make much more sense and minigames are much less tedious in general. Some actors have been recast, and for the better, in my opinion.
Less fun and definitely harder than the previous three in the series. Several of the mini-puzzles (especially the electrical box to exit the security room) are worth a skip, and I wouldn't want to play with the safe in the bad guy's apartment without a walkthrough. Beautiful graphics as always, and there is some interesting gameplay... it's just not as much fun. (BTW, folks, that red button in the Atlas statue is actually a joystick - that could have been clearer)
I feel like you saved all of your most frustrating puzzles for this one. Thank goodness for the YouTube walk through! I haven't had to skip a puzzle since the first game (being new at it, learning curve) but so far, I've needed to skip 3. I'm not looking for easy puzzles, but goodness...mix it up a bit please. 3 stars for the frustration factor.
Disappointed with this episode of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the previous games however, the deveolpers decided to be sneaky with a puzzle in Chapter 4 of this game, making it impossible to solve the puzzle with the provided instuctions. "Lead the wire from one terminal to another using all points". The actual solution was to NOT USE ALL POINTS!! I finally gave up frustrated, resorted to walkthrough, discovering the instructions WERE WRONG! Correct this issue and I will adjust my rating.
I haven't completed the game yet but it's decent so far. It does seem to need you to be very precise when looking around scenes. Should take a page from the TRUE FEAR book and have ! In areas where an action can be done instead of trying to go back and forth wondering if you got everything needed from each area
Very fun a little difficult and it's a bummer you have to watch so many ads to get hints
Well done, interesting, and you don't have to worry about suddenly running out of energy in the middle of a task! I enjoy the little extras like finding sets of collectibles and morphing objects. And it's always fun when there's repeating characters and concepts from one chapter to another. Makes the storyline feel more real and cohesive. I don't mind buying a few extra hints- especially because I'm not forced to or constantly reminded of it. Thanks! I look forward to more.
Beware there is a glitch in this game and that is why I have only rated it 3. When you get to Travis's house do NOT put the key in the safe before finding both clues to the combination. If the key is in first it will not allow you to progress. Very frustrating as this is right at the end of the game. You will need to restart the game if you put the key in first and have not saved prior.
Great game, hard in some parts but very very nice.
I've found many times I was stuck, not because I wasn't paying attention but because of bad controls, I had to click on some screens many times to activate certain areas, that made the game a bit frustrating at times. Also the hints for some mini games are impossible to read. However the game is good, and I love the series. Thank you for a good free game.
Has been good up until trying to get the projector working. It took a number of taps to get the bulb compartment open, to install the bulb. One of the times for the clock doesn't quite seem to correspond to the clue and I don't seem to be able to pull the projector screen down with the pointer although I have confirmed that this is what I'm supposed to do according to two different walk-throughs. Will try clearing cache and see if that works before clearing memory and /or reinstalling.
Was fun until I'm in the movie room & you need to pull the screen down. I have the pointer but the screen won't come down. I thought maybe I needed to find something different. Finished everything else, this is one of the last things I need to do, but the screen still won't come down. I even wathced a walkthrough video, which I almost never do & the walkthrough shows the pointer being used to pull down the screen. Not sure what's going on with my download, but I'm stuck and cannot progress.
I seriously love all of their games! In my opinion, they are superior to all others I have played so far. Their realistic graphics, attention to detail, exciting adventures, organization, themes, consistency... I could go on and on. The only thing I sometimes struggle with is the vagueness of mini-game explanations with no demonstration. But otherwise, I an hooked on Five-BN games & series!! No other games have given me the same level of satisfaction!
This is the second New York mysteries that I played that it allows you to get to a point near the end and the puzzle has a problem. If you don't like giving free games then just charge don't add technical problems to make us pay. I'll stick with Haiku and AE games. And the developers or whoever don't have the integrity to answer people with issues. Just don't waste your time. The safe will just annoy you.
I like the fact that its free to play the full game and cheap for the bonus chapter. There were more than a few puzzles that were downright frustrating and some that didnt have clear instructions at all so I was left struggling to figure out what to do. Ive played more than a few games from this company by now and overall Ive really enjoyed them but this one was just ok for me (great graphics though).
Some puzzles appear to be more complicated than what they truly are (safe combination) that when you figure it out it becomes annoyingly pretentious. Like most five-bn games, I finished this without using any hints but the story and gameplay seems a bit rough on the edges. I'm still giving it 4 stars since overall, it is a good game.
You have to pay for hints and pay for the bonus game so not entirely free. (I didnt realise i'd downloaded free to play - usually buy games outright). Story's ok, graphics are nice. Game a bit unresponsive - a lot of tapping to pick up objects or you have to be in a certain scene to pick up an object. Disappointed you cant go back to look for collection items etc. In this free version the there werent any pointers on the map or any helpful info in the diary so both were pointless.
Just finished. Bonus play & hints are $ for. I didn't bother. It's not bad but it is meant for a big screen or computer, not a phone app. This was a "click everywhere & hope you find something" on the screen just to find objects. Everything blends together & you can not tell needed objects from the background. That fact makes this an extremely frustrating "find & click on" game. The puzzles were fun but did not have enough "how to play" explanation to start. All that told only worth 3 stars.
I'm a recent fan for 5 Bn Games, the artwork and stories are excellent. Now the good points regarding this one are just that, story is original and interesting and the artwork and mood are very good, loved the morphing and collectables, but I found the gameplay was all over the place. I found the to-ing and fro-ing from room to room quite tedious (finding the bits to the projector for instance) and I was beginning to get bored. I seem to be in the minority on here though so hey ho!
Love it but I'm on my third try without hints and read achievements it said I missed the video in the library when the projector was fixed? Not so? Your games aren't giving me full credit for puzzles and games I completed? What happened to the artwork? And Laura's hair and makeup? I liked her the way she was. It seems that from the first game to this one there's a lot of excitement missing and the artwork less realistic and more of a cartoonist look. The library video was a cartoon in sienna!
Nice graphics. Let down by erratic interface. Unable to get items to interact or combine etc. Played a good deal of the way through, got stuck trying to combine a prepared cable to broken wires and even after checking with walkthrough on youtube. Still cannot get the item to work as it is supposed to. Tried restarting device etc. Problem persists. Will likely delete as no point if glytches prohibit progress. Can't even raise a support request as there is no option for that within app.
Five-BN games are nicely done, with great graphics and story lines. My one complaint is that I tap parts of a scene several times, only to resort to using a hint and the hint points me to the very place I'd tapped numerous times. I'm either not precise enough or not tapping hard enough... just a little annoying. Otherwise, I am enjoying this series very much.
