News Reader

Almost. After months of searching this was almost the news reader for me. Needs much faster way to filter sources and TOPICS out. Both from the feed with a flick or swipe, and in bulk from a list. Needs to display articles in a more readable way, as is offers no advantages over a web browser. Finally really really needs adblocker. Or will never be better than a browser. Not uninstalling right away. Will check back for improvement.

Need lot of improvements. News headlines not showing with images. Widgets should be improved lot. All news headlines and titles are totally mixed up and it is very difficult to find out which is the latest news. Latest and updated news should be shown in sequence and order. Please fix all these bugs and issues and make an early update. Thanks

Great alternative to Google News & Weather! It's a little unfortunate that some publications can get preferential treatment, presumably by paying for traffic. This allows newspapers to dominate the top line billing. It's not so bad that it becomes an echo chamber, but it's clear how the top line article is slanted toward a specific paper. Also, I turned off the "Sports" category, but still get a fair number of sports stories.

I liked this app a LOT. But I also have one beef that keeps me from choosing to use the app regularly and buying. The white flash when opening an article (when using dark mode). I use dark because of an eye issue and the white flash makes the app not usable. Fix it and I'll be back! Edit: Returned 10/31 and still no change to my issue. I guess no one is interested in fixing. Thanks...I won't be back again.

Great news app. I converted to this after the already dreadful Google news app managed to become utterly abysmal & have never looked back. Well laid out and works well, enabling me to see all the news I want with no hassle. A recent Google update broke the app but the developer addressed this and fixed it in no time at all. Would strongly recommend.

I've been trying various news and weather apps to replace the new Google version, and this is my favorite so far. You can customize news categories, few ads, nice layout of articles. Only wish you could expand on the weather, but this app is a keeper for me.

I've been searching for a new news app for about a month, since my previous favourite 'Simply News' was discontinued, and this gives me just what I want. The option to view different publications version of the same news item is really good. Being able to add categories is great.

The feature I like the most is the listing of headlines without details. If I want to know more, I'll click on the headline. Customizable topics enables you to read headlines that are of interest to you and ignore the rest. Dark mode makes it a very useful app for me. Awesome. Thank you for your good work.

good integrator of various news sources, also effectively display titles and important info in single heading, makes efficient time for reading. may be better if the the topics (in tabs) can be personalized as per reader's requirements (e.g. news in Indo, Malaysia, and Singapore in different tabs). will be great if the headings can be filtered according to reader's needs (e.g. headlines, politics/security hard news on the top and then others at the bottom)

A good replacement for Google News and Weather because it allows you to filter sections as well as sources. It's a pity it doesn't sync across devices. I'd gladly upgrade to Pro version if it had that feature!

i left google news because it has too many pictures. now also this app added pictures. please let user turn them off, as in the old version would be nice if one can select different editions for tabs, filter not efficient

Just started using the app today. Best thing I have found so far for reading news on an ereader. Would prefer to turn pages instead of scrolling, but the scrolling is working better on this app than others I have tried. It also refreshes frequently to remove any ghosting.

Excellent, I get the news I want...just type in your subject be precise and you will get the items YOU WANT . The problem is it shows the news headlines BUT to read them I have to open them in another app called Article Reader otherwise it takes a long time for them to appear.

This app is so much better to the "improved" Google News foisted upon us. The ability to fully customize the feed to show only the topics you want (and delete ALL the ones you don't), and to sort stories by date and time make this app far superior to Google's.

Very clean and stable port of Google News. Much easier on the eyes than Google News itself, with minimally intrusive ads. It's the first of my three go-to's for news every morning (really anytime).

the categories are a complete waste of time. Science, technology, business it does matter what you select you get the same stories. oh for the days NNTP and usenet when we had programmes that just did the job they were supposed to do and got out the way.

This is a really nice app really easy to read everything is laid out just right. Trust me I have tried a majority of the news reader apps out there and this one just works not too flashy full of good content like I said it's almost like reading a newspaper.you got a new fan I'll be with you every morning reading the news keep up the good work. And whatever you do take a lesson from the people down the street you know the ones that everybody's pissed off because they screwed up perfectly fine app so just don't Google it :)

Promising replacement for Awnry's News and Weather, which seems to have been abandoned, but a bit buggy. Different point sizes of font looks a bit messy, 4x1 widget sticks on original headline.

Good replacement for Google News and Weather; however, 4x1 widget not configurable for dark theme and does not seem to scroll or refresh like old Google widget. Would like to see flag for paywall sources (e.g., WSJ or Ha'aretz) and/or ability to filter to exclude them.

News Reader? Advertisements everywhere. Bottom of page, top of page, on the side of the side of a page. Article source advertisements with constant App avertisements. Rather just not have news. Thnx developers.

News 📰 is grouped by topic headline from various sources. This is my favorite news 📰 app. It is great on Android v8, but I had crashes on latest OS. I wish I could include independent news 📰 sources like Scheer Report and Consortium News 📰.

Decent alternative to the discontinued Google news and weather . I'd like to see more articles and more categories of news such as science, health, entertainment, but it's a good app.

Brilliant news app. Well laid out, simple to use and read with great features. Much better than the Google News app. Really love it and is now my permanent news app. Great job team and keep up the good work.

the app works relatively well but when you try to filter out some news sources, an inbuilt option, the app just ignores what you have just selected and shows you news coming from those unwanted source

Many stories repeated mutiple times on same feed. Normal text size too big, small is too small. Random stories have bold headlines, distracting.

News items are well organized. It's easy to identify and eliminate sources that spin or sensationalize the same news item.

was a great app. Now the articles sometimes open. Half the news I read is gone. Not sure what was changed but don't like it.

Weather accuracy is still poor, need to select another provider. News displays often appear blank when displayed in widget.
