[1] Full articles in reader mode are not available currently for custom channels. However, website mobilization of custom channels is available.
[2] Summarization is in beta and available only for a few US channels currently. It can be disabled via Preferences.

Ads in default channel view mode are immense (more than half the screen!) and numerous. Other view modes are better, but waste space with meaningless graphics and confusing tile sizes. No ability to filter out news from unwanted sources. Nice weather screen. But obtrusive ads are annoying, and no option to buy an ad-free version. Other features are nice, but ads are a deal breaker. Uninstalling.
Is nice, but has its share of issues. Can't run it all the time or my battery runs down too quickly. Would like to have it open on a schedule each morning, but can't get that to happen. Custom news channels are great, but often slow to load or don't load at all. Still a good app, inconveniences aside..
Was great until recently. For a while it didn't update for a few days at a time. Now, one gets top news, tech, & politics scattered throughout most of the categories. My custom tabs are now blank. Resetting/reinstalling makes no difference. What happened? This was the best replacement for Google News until it went nuts.
News lite. Like UI, but limited number of articles per heading. I added Tiger Woods and only recieved 2 articles in the 2 weeks I have had the app, although there have been dozens of articles about Tiger on Google, Yahoo, and many other news sites. Also tends to lean to the right, with Fox news being well represented. My over all impression is: I like the interface, dislike the number of articles per heading, dislike articles presented from sources with a biased point of view. 2 Stars.
The latest update has done the opposite of what was supposed to do. Channels don't update for days. Refresh doe not work. Some channels are now permanently blank. Was a great app, currently useless. Still shows Daily Express bøllox, which no cůnt would ever consider reading.
Not Great. No weather on the widget. I do like the preview option that lets me read some of the article before following the link. I also like the dark background. However, app started crashing after recent Android update.
This is the very BEST news app out there, especially if you're looking for unbiased information. It gives you access to news. Not like Smartnews that chooses what you should be reading, so biased! This app also allows you to load so many channels that you are interested in. Like I have a channel called Ancient and it loads articles related to anything Ancient,; most of which I wouldn't see on any other news app. Total 5 ☆! I would recommend this app to EVERYONE.
Terrible. No offline reading. All articles are snippets you have to tap again and load a page to actually read it. What's the point ? Nothing like the old Google app.
Good replacement for Google News and Weather with a similar feel. I like the previews! A little sluggish switching between tabs. Overall great. Thanks for a quality app!
this has progressed from no advertising to far too many ads during the time I have used it. Now advertisements start playing loud music while I am trying to be quiet!
Used to be great, but hasn't been updated in forever and now half of it doesn't work, such as custom channels I always used for news from certain cities, or the Lifehacker channel.
Liked the older version. This weather information is terrible. Liked the older version detailed by the hour persipatation and degrees.
Great replacement since the new Google news app isn't available for my phone. Just wish it wouldn't update every time I select one of my channels. Why does it show me Polish, Italian, French and I think Ukrainian news items when I have selected English as my language.
Ummmmm, why is it not in English? Shouldn't the app detect the language settings of my phone and be in ENGLISH?! Seriously, I can't even use the app, and I used to use it before with no problems. No idea what's going on. Total fail.
I rather pay for an ad free version. Current version is often slow load & some times to get the most recent news feeds is as well.
Very good news channel with all types of connectivity available. Just should display date wise blocks to escape yesterday & earlier news readings.
This is a terrific app when it is updating, but it has only very rarely updated for the past two months. Can't wait for a fix to be applied.
I like this app for perusing news at night and appreciate the black screen with white font. However, it always opens with a blaring white ad. Which is dumb as fudge.
Please Disable text to speech. Very embarrassing when triggered accidently. I want to kill function AND make icon vanish. Will rate again when this is no longer a problem
Drop from 4 to 2 stars since the app can't update news on personnal channels. For a 5 stars, add the sorting by publishing date, in descending order
I'm intentionally giving a 1 star because the app won't stop asking me to leave a review. It works fine, but if you are going to continue interrupting use to force a review, you force me to make one that you will have to address.
I have used NewsHog for several years. I get my news fix every day with NewsHog. Everything I need is right here. I never watch news on TV or radio
I haven't used this app in a while and now the weather shows NA. I uninstalled and installed the app. Still NA. Cleared cache and data. Still NA.
A reasonable alternative to Google News & Weather, now that Google have decided to kill that app off and replace it with a garbage app. I like NewsHog but it needs some changes: it is slow to load the list of news stories when first opened (it ought to have everything cached since the last update). It should allow pull-down to refresh. On opening a news article in reader mode, the graphic/image is completely out-of-scale and all pixelated in some news stories.
