I finally gave up and uninstalled this app. It was a wonderful replacement for the old Google news but it now appears to be abandoned. Filters don't work, more than half of the articles are behind a paywall and the developer is unresponsive. Sorry I paid for the upgrade. Welp, I'm going to try the new Google news again. At least that app is "alive"

This has ALWAYS been my FAVORITE news and weather app/widget but I haven't downloaded it in some time. This time I downloaded it and put the widget on my home screen but cannot find an option that displays photos next to the news headlines. Did you get rid of that feature? If so I will have to find a new news and weather app but I really don't want to! Please help!

This app is a joke. It won't tell you what the temperature is in the city that you reside in. But it'll tell you the temperature thats clear across half the state as if that's important that I live over there and not over here. If this doesn't get straightened out I am taking this app off and I will never use it again I've never had trouble with it until T Mobile signed up with Sprint. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but it sure is a coincidence.

The World news tab locks up after a day or so and stops updating. I have to close the app and restart it to get World news to update. I have turned this flaw in but so far, it continues. I thought maybe it worked in the paid version but it makes no difference. If that issue was solved, I would have this app 5 stars.

Your recent practice of changing most news feed articles linking to youtube videos is unacceptible. I will not chew up my data on your app any longer just to garner ther news. I've had this app installed for years and enjoyed the various news articles. NOT ANY MORE! Not only is the linking of news video clips unacceptible practice, theres no filter to exclude these videos or even a video symbol yo inform the articles are a video. So I have been using this app for over 10 year's and I have found many good articles and news stories that I wouldn't have heard about at all....... Now however, before I officially uninstall the app, I am going to give the developers until the end of January 2020 to allow them to fix this news filter situation. I am not interested in YouTube articles, it's on my filter list.

It's almost perfect. But there are no arrows to to push to get back around at your preferred headline. In other words you have to wait for the next go-around. Like the old Google news and weather widget used to have , that was a nice feature. But it's almost perfect.

***Edit to downgrade from 4 to 2 stars. Now news articles are yesterdays news and regularly say 20 hours old etc even though i hit the refresh button regularly. Too much sport articles. After a few days it still doesnt show any articles related to one of the biggest news items in my country but shows lots of trivial articles - this makes no sense!

Need to be able to suppress the notifications within the app settings. There is a setting for suppressing images and it works but not immediately. I do have hope that this will be a good replacement for Google News and Weather.

What a shame It used to be AWESOME with many options and filters. Now everything comes from Google news, Google is not trustworthy nor unbiased (they used to be) plus now the app loops on some kind of ad update then freezes on a black screen, have to force stop often! Shame on you for ruining a great app

It's a fairly good clone of the much loved and lamented Google News and Weather app. Except it doesn't seem to support local news, which was the search term that led me to download it in the first place. Was delighted that it is only a few megabytes as most apps are huge these days.

Excellent replacement for googles news and wx app. I like the fact that I can add keyword searches/tabs to get my local news or pretty much whatever topic I want and edit it for what I want. The only downside is that my phone keeps bugging me that it's running in background.

It was working ok before then it just stopped working. It updates the weather but not the news. It's just a black screen saying....unable to connect to the host and can't connect to the server. I have sent an email but haven't received any reply yet.

Been using it for 5 years and can confidently say it is hands down the best news app and widget I've come across. The ability to add your own keywords for topics is an AMAZING feature that most news apps don't offer.

theoretically a very good app but the weather is all wrong. another problem is that the news does not seem to refresh till you open the widget. pretty much useless with these problems.

Well worth the $5 upgrade not to see the ads. It's nice that I don't have to press and hold to open the browser other than Chrome. Thank you for reincarnating an almost perfect news and weather app.

Developers please do not. I repeat do not over complicate your app. This is my new replacement for the Google News app they just discontinued and it's perfect. Can you offer a paid version to get rid of these ads?

I have found that the weather portion on this app is awesome. I've found that it also tends to be more accurate than any other app I've used, as well as more accurate than the news channels. I really like that I can actually depend on the weather portion, but I don't really care for the news portion.

This is the best alternative to the inexplicably discontinued Google news and weather app. It isnt quite as good but its the best I've found. Lately a lot of the news links have been YouTube videos though. God I miss the old Google app.

Needs a pull-down to refresh feature or at least an easy to access refresh button on the main screen.. now as part of the main menu options, it's simply too cumbersome to get there. Awesome app, I wish it was also available on IOS :)

I've always loved this little app. It provides a great view of the news and highlights events that are not featured in the mainstream news cycle. Also love the ability to add custom topics and focus on local stories.

Filters dont work, stories are all over the place, lots of garbage fluff kinds of stories. I miss Google news and weather but this isn't it other then the look.

Not pleased with this app + still looking for a better one it's like reading one of the lesser tabloids with too much based on so called celebs etc. I want real news that updates automatically and a more accurate and informative weather info

Doesn't update regularly. May go weeks without updating. Have to continue Uninstaller, reinstalling. Has terrific information when it works.

Was great, is now pure garbage. Pulls everything from google news/you tube. Cannot add news sources, USA Today, New York Times, Science News, etc. Filters are usless. As a person who used to love google, it's hard for me to come to grips with how low my opinion of google has fallen, we are nothing more than a resource to these people, a crop being reaped. Uninstalling.
