Less functional than Apple News or Google News, after tons of time spent tuning you still get mostly duplicates of the same articles from different sources appearing in the list. It connects as much data as the others, so there doesn't seem to be any point. The GUI is nice though, and it does work.

I've used it for a few years, and on my old Galaxy S9, it was the best, most configurable of the news apps, with an available compact text-only list for easily scrolling headlines. Unfortunately on my new Pixel 6 Pro with Android 12, the app thinks it is a tablet and only shows 3 to 6 articles per page even in high density text-only mode, instead of a scrollable list. Fortunately, their customer support is superbly responsive, so I'm looking forward to an update that will fix this.

I enjoy the variety of news not provided by bloggers, but authentic news organizations. And I appreciate the way you can select topics of interest, and filter out sources. But, the app violates the settings on my phone and sends me lock-screen notifications, even thought all notifications are selected OFF.

I have been using News 360 for years and have loved using it. Once you select your favorite topics, the articles it shows you are spot on to what your looking for. I have two complaints. The first is the new interface. It's garbage in my opinion. It is very plain and sometimes hard to decipher. The older interface was MUCH better, more intuitive, better graphics, and frankly easier to use. I believe the interface can make or break an app, and this interface might just break this one. The second is the widget. Now, I'm not sure if it's the app or my phone that causes the issue. But simply, it locks up or disappears almost every single time I go to use it. I've had to get rid of it and just go straight to the full app. Which for me is a pain. I work a lot of hours and the widget made it easy to quickly flip through the top articles to find one I wanted to read. So one star gone for the interface and another star gone for the widget. Sorry News 360, I may just have to find a new news app.

Decent news app that is fairly customizable, but needs a little improvement. Dark mode is included, so that's a huge plus. You do get some clickbait here and there, but that's difficult to avoid in any app. I wish it were easier to select publishers that you want to see more stories from though, or to ignore altogether. I tried to add a few new sources, but the frequency that they appear in the home feed seems very, very low. And even after disliking posts (multiple times) I still see the same ones over and over, some of which border on NSFW. Please add custom RSS feeds and more strict filtering beyond the up/down vote system! Also, I'd really like more ways to sort by date/popularity. EDIT: After further use, it's clear that there isn't enough specificity, and too much random "junk" to make this app worthwhile for me, no matter what I do. Too bad. I hope they can make some changes.

Don't know what's happening to the quality of this app - it goes up and down like the stock market. Just when I think it's back to having a great experience, it falls apart again.. I'm leaving this app until it can fix: - more articles that can be read in the app - fewer video only links - the wrong article titles - don't include subscription based news

This has been by far the best News reading app I've come across in a long while now. And I've tried many many apps prior to this. The personalized articles is spot-on. And the option to like/dislike really does work, unlike few other apps. The UI is clean and simple. And to top it off, the option to view Breaking News Worldwide & Local News makes this easily the most balanced and go-to Mobile News reader. I'd recommend this to any enthusiastic readers out there.

Works well, I use this every day, it mostly feeds me stories I am interested in or that at least are related to the categories I've chosen. Not super happy with the latest layout - I don't really need thumbs buttons showing in the feed itself; they take-up a lot of room when repeated over and over, room which was previously used for more important things. The refresh button has also disappeared and I think the app now cuts the headlines a bit short. Still pretty happy with this tho.

I'm happy to find a news app that gives me a wide variety of sources and topics suited to me. My problem is that there is no front page with important stories. There's no priority; the world could be falling apart and my top story would be about the pope or physics or sports. Please figure out a way to keep the personalised news feed, but adjust your algorithm so it shows important world news first, at the top. Cheers

Extremely disproportional ratio of Indian sources (when I've shown no interest in such). Makes it difficult to exit Fox news sites (disables standard back button forcing you to hard exit the app -- although sometimes toggling back and forth between reader view and web view will re-enable back button -- only happens on Fox news sites). Many articles have misleading dates. Problems list goes on and on. I'm uninstalling this and moving on. I find the high number of positive reviews implausible.

There is a lot of ability to customize your feed based on specific interests so this is genuinely helpful in bringing relevant articles to my attention. The apps downsides are the it is slow, and for me I do not want to see any video content at all and it does not show you which content is video vs readable and has no setting to show only readable articles.

Paid subscription for AMOLED theme is ridiculous! To charge people for a basic battery saving feature like that is absurd. I definitely won't encourage those tactics with money. If every app on my device had a $1.00 monthly subscription fee, I would be paying over $2,000 per month! Charge once for premium and start to include basic features without a subscription or prepare to go belly up very quickly... Also, widgets are buggy, often not displaying anything at all, or articles without images.

I've been using this app for about 5 years. I love that I can customize what I'm looking at and tell it to never show me anything about the Kardashians ever again. The downside... the ads are getting to be invasive and bothersome to the app's experience. I understand they want revenue, but I find myself using Google's service more often now. I love when the app opens an article within itself, but when it loads a page like something from Newsweek, it feels like putting bleach in my eyes.

Frankly, I preferred the page flip and layout of the previous versions. The current version no longer has the appeal it did when it felt more like leafing through a magazine. That cost this app a star. The second star was lost due to the addition of ads. I still use the app on my Kindle and like it as much as I did 7 years ago when I first began using the app because it is still in the same format. I rarely use it on my phone now and have switched to other apps.

generally pretty good. two issues which are annoying. first, articles are occasionally mistitled with subjeci that jave nothing to do with the story. second, occasionally the pictures used have nothing to do the story. still, i use it frequently. one other thing. i really want to be able to sort in date/time. it seems silly that a day old story come before a story that is only an hour or two old.

Bri. Oct 21, 2020

I paid for the premium version. I've used other apps, including Feedly, and News360 is hands down the best I've used. The built in browser (with reader mode) loads pages very fast compared to a normal web browser. No pop ups and ads.. just a nice clean interface. It's the best way to browse news feeds that Ive found.

Ton. C. Jun 22, 2019

A good app with the ability to choose your own topics. However, the card-style widget is, in my opinion, not a good UX for mobile phone users with limited screen real estate. a simple scrollable list view is much more efficient to provide quick snippets of several news item a page at a time.

(Using this app on a Samsung J7) This is by far my favorite news app! It is WONDERFUL to choose the kinds if stories that I'm interested in ONLY, instead of swimming in news that I'm completely sick of (politics and coronavirus)! I'm seeing lots of great news I wouldn't be able to find easily on my own, such as astrophysics and camera equipment. It's wonderful! News360 has my highest recommendation. Only addition might be if I could filter out news from certain countries or areas.

Adr. W. Mar 27, 2020

I don't normally comment on apps, but this is pretty much exactly what I have been looking for in a news service for a long time. I love how I can completely customize the content I see and the formatting and reader are nicely done, which is a breath of fresh air coming from Google News (which I've come to hate). I intend to get the premium version just so I can ensure it sticks around. Great app and great service!

Great app for finding interesting news and magazine articles from around the web. I used it in college to find sources for papers and weekly news items for in-class discussions. Very handy, if you were a user of the old Zite app and are still mourning that loss then this is the app for you. Easy to use and customize your feed and an all around great app.

Bob. B. Jun 13, 2019

This app does let you personalize news... mostly. They still insist on throwing in US political stories that have nothing to do with any of your selected interests, which I'm sick of seeing.. avoiding them was the entire reason I wanted a personalized news app in the first place. I can understand ads, but these aren't ads, just articles that blatantly disregard my personalized choices. I'm looking for another alternative.

Used to be my favorite #1 five star app. Every day I would be on it for about 45 minutes reading news and science articles. It had a perfect design and ads weren't intrusive. Then, with the latest update, they push video adds constantly and the new layout design is ugly. It went from perfect to useless. So, I am looking for a new news app.

dea. M. Jul 17, 2020

This apps learning ability is not very good. And that is a problem because it seems to get a lot of it's stores from sources in India. No matter how many times i give these sources a thumbs down, they reappear. My followed sources appear much lower in the stream. While the interface for this app is pretty nice, as a source of news, it is not very good.

dru. m. Oct 1, 2018

So close, yet so far. This app is nearly perfect except for a few glaring issues. First, if I thumbs down a story, why isn't it removed from my active stories? It keeps scrolling through until refresh. Second, why can't I add my own arbitrary news source? Why am I limited to the news sources provided by news 360? I should be able to enter my own RSS feeds. Third, the widget is fantastic, except a few things. With dozens of available stories, why does it only show me half a dozen or so on repeat? Finally, why can't I set my own interval for how often it updates? This would be the perfect news app otherwise.

Be very careful! I was charged for a 3month premium subscription without any input from myself. Is possible that with their own premium pop up ad along with some pocket screen on action this might happen? But it should not be possible! I immediately canceled, contacted both dev and G. A long time Smartnews user, but when they added in full screen a/v ads. I thought this was intriguing replacement. Reaching into my pocket without permission is a pretty big offense.

G.F. G. Oct 28, 2020

OK layout but it doesn't update frequently. At 9:00 pm, most of the 'breaking news' stories are the same ones I saw at breakfast 12+ hours ago. 'Local' news isn't local at all. Many articles behind paywalls. Deleted. EDIT: Trying it again. My previous criticisms still apply, plus I get many stories unrelated to any of my interests. Also, letters to the editor are sometimes treated as actual news stories.
