News4Jax - WJXT Channel 4

So far this app is really stinking for me. It freezes up or stops working altogether after about 3 minutes on the app and it is very aggravating. I would not have taken my time to rate this if it wasn't so unfortunetly. I will be downloading a different news channel and pray that I do not have the same issues. Good luck everyone.

Very buggy. Did you use anchors to code this clunky piece. The volume for commercials is so loud. The volume has caused issues with my neighbor. I'm sure this is intentional, but it's to extremely loud for commercial breaks. So I am trying other apps. Imagine how many other users are doing the same?

Ok the app was doing great but last few days all I am getting is a repeat of the weekend news sometimes and other times I am getting a black screen with a rotating circle like it's buffering. I don't have tv or cable so I rely on this app on my phone for local news and weather but the live portion seems to have stopped working. Please fix!!

I don't see the 300% faster speed, and sometimes the system crashes and won't load at all. The weather map is awful, 70% of the time, the radar won't load. I can see and hear rain outside and the radar shows clear. (*I do like the layers and was shocked at the number of recorded earthquakes in the lower 48, that one never hears about.) I do use the Hurricane app and choose local radar and the correct weather shows, with street level detail over the entire world!

I had to delete the app several times and reinstall it. every time I play the video for live TV it logs me out and says error then it wants me to leave a feedback. I have other news stations here in Jacksonville that I don't have a problem with only this one. This is the one I usually watch so it kind of stinks that I have to go somewhere else to find my local news.

Decent app. I love being able to keep up with local and global news anywhere I go. My only complaints are the few glitches that frequently occur (e.g. every link will lead to the same article on occasion regardless of which article is clicked, notification links fail, etc.) and the grammar on some of these articles are terrible. I don't think they are proofread at all before posted. Other than that, I appreciate the hard work News4jax puts in!

i love the layout & information on this app...BUT...it shuts itself down at least once, sometimes more, nearly every time I open it. I have reported it numerous times & even took it off my phone & reloaded it about a week ago but it still keeps shutting down & according to the bars on my phone it's not an internet connection issue. Please fix this issue!!! I will gladly change the rating to a 5 once this is fixed 🙂

Buffering, buffering and more buffering. The text of the articles takes forever to load, even though the rest of the page and all of the ads have loaded. You just sit there staring at this spinning circle. When it does finally load, the local news coverage is good but the political coverage is extremely left wing.

So many notifications, I had breaking news and traffic set up as the only notifications I wanted. Apparently sports and news from Georgia are breaking news. Also I have yet to see anything traffic come through. I get around 30 notifications a day with only 2 of the options selected. I can't imagine picking all of them, my phone would probably explode.

Had the app about a year now and haven't had any issues with it. Got a brand new phone and reinstalled it, still works fine. News at the tip of my fingertips. I don't always have time to catch it on TV. Great job guys!!

Shame ... I love the channel and used to be able to watch from Firefox or DDG browser on my phone but now they force you to use the app. All the app wants to do is spam me with notifications and emails but also won't let you do anything else on phone and forces it to stop playing. Oh well .... guess I'll get my local news elsewhere

I like to watch the live news feed on the app in the morning. The reason for 4 stars is every time they go to commercial break I get kicked off and have to go back in and click on the link all over again to watch. I end up having to do that over and over during the approx 45 minutes I watch each morning

One day after an update the text size became gigantic. I tried changing the size in settings but it had no effect. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times and no change. I can still read articles but it's very difficult

As of 12/10/19 - the app remains stuck on news from November. I've reinstalled several times and I'm still seeing the boy who who had his birthday saved by firefighters. PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!! App is terrible since the last update. Keep telling me the content is unavailable. Deleted and reinstalled app and now I can see only old news information. Please fix ASAP!!!

It's great but way(!) too many stories come up and continue. often it takes me to an advertisement, takes me to a different story entirely or shows up blank or the news article I want to read disappears. Thank you.

Every time I click on a news link, after about 30 seconds the app opens a new window that is completely blank. The only way to exit the empty link is to hit the back arrow that takes me all the way back to the main page. FRUSTRATING!

notifications now include pictures, I would rather read the full headline than a partial one with a picture, really considering unstalling the app since I no longer can read the headline and find the pictures in the notification unnecessary and annoying.

News4jax seems to work pretty good until you want to watch the weather and then it quits it's almost impossible to watch the full weather forecast without some type of interruption most of the time... but the commercials and the other worthless news usually always works

The new update ruined be able to view articles. The drop/selection section (weather, top news, etc) has been increased in size and pushes them to where you can not read them....effectively killing the reason for the app

when i tap on the arrows to hear about a story, it doesn"t work. I"ve tried different ones and none work. It works ok now. I deleted the app and reinstalled it again. Works great now!

Viewing improved. However, can no longer go to weather maps. Nor can weather app be downloaded for my phone. It used to be the ONLY LOCAL one that I could! I have no need for national weather apps. Just want local.

This was my go to app for local news. Then in the news feed it is had to navigate due to add loading in later than the page thus leading to false clicks.While I understand the need for advertising it has just gone way overboard.

I love my news4jax app. Even when I'm out of state for 4-5 months, I get a notice if all thats happening here at home. I get a notice real-time and a reporter is always on the scene or the way. I'm a native Jacksonvillian (spellcheck says it's a word lol) I'm 69 and you've been my favorite thru the years. I give credit to another station who is a close 2nd. Keep up the good work guys👍👊

Wish it updated sooner. Sometimes I hear something and go to look it up but the article is not there. It's the only news app I have but sadly it's a little behind. I also wish in the menu tab you have an option of picking news by counties.

Gotta be a bunch of idiots working there. I've never seen so many spelling mistakes, typing errors, grammar problems, etc. It's literally like they have a bunch of 3rd graders typing this up. It is absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing to have a major news organization have this many mistakes when it comes to ANY writing. Channel 4 news app writers....go back to 3rd grade Billy Madison style and start from there. Nothing bad can come from that. You are all little stupid puppies who lost your way. Find your way home. It starts with 3 grade. Good luck.

I can't get the us world news or the Georgia news on this app. It keeps saying the content is unavailable. I deleted this app one time before and decided to give it another try. If this issue isn't fixed soon I will be deleting it again. I will just use actionnewsjax app instead. Which I already use.

Used to love news4jax, but they have become extremely biased lately, especially since the election. They have become just as untrustworthy as CNN, MSNBC, etc. It's sad to see. I have no choice but to delete this app.

I always use this app to keep me updated with the news in Jax and surrounding towns but lately when I click on an article it crashes and closes automatically and you've to reopen the app and it's very annoying.
