Very easy to use for people comfortable with 2006 era MacOS aesthetics, some more customisation features would be nice but for a free app, it's good!
its great, except notifications are not working when the app is closed. dont know if this is specific to my phone, but this doesnt happen with other apps. please fix it and ill update the rating.
This was my go-to RSS reader for years; loved cloud sync, and the interface was intuitive and functional. However, recently every feed I subscribe to stopped rendering correctly; black-on-black text, or paragraphs layered on top of each other, forced me to use the "View Original" button to do anything. Some of my other feeds just showed the headline and nothing else. I can't recommend this until this issue is fixed; for now I've switched to PodcastRepublic to consume RSS blog feeds.
Usually my go-to reader. Now all the feeds, both the full and shortened versions, are gone. Completely useless. And, the email feedback is broken. I can't email support about my issue. No option to select gmail. Can copy text but don't know what email to send to. And, I can't log in to the forum (even though I'm logged into the reader). Password reset emails never show up. Tried 2x, not in the spam folder or anywhere.
Good reader, can you please add a feed option to align text right or left, for right to left readability. Thank you.
Simply the best RSS reader, totally worth the subscription price, keeps it all synced in Android, iOS and web.
seems good, I imported my feedly opml but I can't add any new feeds
First problem - you have to register. Second problem - can't register, it just says "there was a problem registering Newsblur", on repeated attempts.
Have used this for years, so there is something that keeps me hooked. However, the account renewal settings are awful and not transparent.Renews you just when you view premium setting...what?Folder setup is not intuitive to change AFTER INITIAL ADD. Needs better support contact method for product.
Works well! I'm using Newsblur on desktop, Android and iOS. App is usable, and it's pretty hard to find alternatives. The UI on mobile devices could be better, plenty of room for improvement, but it has the functionality I want.
Whenever I open a story, images are downloaded and showing properly. Then, after a moment of time they suddenly disappear showing something like "pic not found thing". I don't know if this problem is related to a particular RSS feed, but its very annoying.
Newsblur is an awesome RSS reader. I've been using it for years, and it continuously surprises me with great features. Just now, I discovered that I can trivially use the trainer feature to filter out marketing posts from an RSS feed so I can get only the engineering posts that I care about! (Cockroach labs) Great work, thanks a lot!
Getting worse. Until last update there was issue with light theme to show feed of images. But it worked on dark theme. After last update there are issues with all of the themes: light, dark, black. Images are not displayed (URLs contain cyrillic symbols). Very dissapointing.
This is great. You can read newsletters, twitter feeds, blogs etc. Someone here said that the search doesn't work, but it does. The problem must be the filter, if you are on the unread posts view, search won't find read posts.
I have used this app for a long time and in the last few weeks it has fallen apart. When you click on stories black boxes load where there should be text. I had hoped it would be fixed by now but nothing has changed.
since an update has taken the all stories feature away, not good. main reason for the low score is the incessant fetching stories, which slows everything down - even when it fetched stories 20 seconds ago and then does it again!
RSS feed for a blog hasn't updated for days, while other readers see the updates just fine. Also if you think you have an account (but do not) and try to log in, the app crashes instead of giving an error message.
Absolutely the best RSS Reader out there. Period! The app's Interface might be old but it works and works really really well. Plus a size of less than 5 MB for this app is absolutely bonkers. Try it and you won't be disappointed.
great way to read a set of blogs that you choose. I've used it for years and it keeps getting better. find a blog you like paste in a link and it will find the feed and add it to the folders you want. Thanks.
Newsblur is a great news reader but not on android. It's fullest abilities are limited to web and desktop versions. Allow users to create and delete folders on android as well.
It's an OK app but it's incomplete. There's no way jump from an article to a feed. That feature is available in the browser desktop version.
the graphic design could use an update. the filtering by infrequent publishers could be more flexible. but it's a nice app that competes with feedly.
There is a bug since the dark mode was added. The white mode display the text in a black box making this app unusable on Android. Please fix this asap!
Looks really nice, except for the odd decision to only allow 14 or 30 days unread time. That's unusable. It should only be limited by my phone's storage.
Newsblur is a great RSS reader. I have tried several of the other more popular RSS readers on Android and this one is easily my favorite. Keep up the good work developers!
The app has what I wanted with an RSS reader. I picked up the paid version migrating from Feedly. I can set more rules about what I want to see and doesn't have the restrictions about it that Feedly has.
Great app! Works/syncs across devices & PC. All my news, interests and more in a great format.
The app is great when it's working. As other recent reviews mention, it now has issues that render it useless until fixed.
Newsblur has been my only RSS reader for years, and I get tremendous value from the yearly subscription across hundreds of feeds in tens of folders. Well supported, flexible and reliable.
