I thought by downloading this app would make it so I could see most of the news hour without watching it on television. It is a pain in the neck. At least on my laptop I could see the dates of the video and pull up current newsfeeds. Can't get a homepage either. Not user friendly.
Good content but ads have taken over now, ruining the experience. Very distracting. Audio and Video commercials auto start with each article or just by opening the page. Other local news apps are much more pleasant to use.
The app worked great before this latest version was pushed. It is slow, weather never loads and I can't set my own cities. Awful... will have to switch to another news if it isn't fixed soon.
I suppose if your willing to settle for some of the news some of the time and getting the radar to work when the weather is good then the app is fantastic. I have always loved channel 9 . I don't know what has happened to journalism!
I tried to read how the North Syracuse school vote turned out and your list of school districts won't allow me to advance past sheet 1. Not a great look for your web site
Takes way too long to open a news story. First you have to wait for an ad to load on the top, then have to wait at least another minute for more than the first 2 sentences to load. When you finish the article and go back to read another, same wait? 15 minutes to read 5 articles? Doesn't happen on my computer.
After having this app for years, all of a sudden it tells me I'm not connected to the internet. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times over the last 2 to 3 months but it still will not install correctly. They need to fix the issue.
The old app worked fine. Yes there were quite a few ads but this new one was just installed and it gives me nothing but a black screen and does not open. Horrible!
It's says something like see all closingsbut when I click it takesme to a story unrelated....liked old set up better when each category as a box and I coukd click weather or school closing or local news ...worked much better last winter
This app would easily be 5 stars if I wasn't forced into notifications for the score in every Syracuse game and forced into notifications for "Orange Nation." I get that we live in Syracuse but not EVERYONE wants or cares about what goes on with sports. Syracuse or otherwise.
Up until today this app was usable. It updated overnight and the new UI is absolute dog-water I can't find the doplar or other weather radars.
The. WSYR News 9 app is easy to use, reliable and keeps me up to date on the weather and both local and national news.
I have used this app for years on my tablet. Now all of a sudden it tells me I'm not connected to the internet. Only this app does this. All others are fine. Needless to say, i can no longer use this app
Can never watch Video for weather forecast. It doesn't download and lately I've been getting not connected to internet message when I am. Frustrating!
Used the Previous app and it was great. This app is clumsy and slow. Don't like the weather/radar. I'll be deleting and usi g channel 3 app.
I used to love the weather app, but you made some update and now it is super clunky and janky, the radar especially, which is the main reason i downloaded it. please fix.
really miss the animated RADAR. when you open the app you can see it central NY but you have no clue to what direction the storms are coming from. so, is it coming at me ? or away from me ? I don't know with out the moving radar
Great info for all areas, really like being updated. Sometimes at awkward times, but I asked for it! Great site!
I simply want the 7-day forecast available. I'm getting everything else and can find it eventually but that's not what I want. Go back to the other app please!
Slow loading, frequent long ads, news videos can't play - displays "errror". Uninstalled.
There are an OVERWHELMING amount of ADVERTISEMENTS. If you want news, you will receive ADVERTISEMENTS. I wouldn't recommend this app too anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always count on NewsChannel 9 for the most up to date information. It's my favorite channel!!
It's a big waste of time if you can't actually stream live news I don't want bits and pieces of the news I want to see the whole thing!
Deleted this app because the ads were ridiculous. Couldn't even read the stories I wanted to.
Living up here in Canada. I have visited Syracuse many times over the years. This app keeps me up to date on all the happenings
Great most of the time but needs update bad the app keeps crashing every time you go to open the app please fix quickly
Ridiculously Frustrating! 😩 App keeps crashing when I try to launch it. The latest March 2020 update is Useless!
Love this app. Especially when the cable companies go to war over prices and these channels get locked out
No matter how you configure the notifications and alerts within the app you will continually receive sports alerts and/or notifications. I've had to completely disable notifications from this app at the system level which is really too bad. I would like to receive news alerts from a local news source. I just don't want any sports alerts at all and I want the app to respect my choices.
