I like the user interface, but honestly have had a ton of issues with bugs and crashes. From a feature perspective, there is really no feature here that you cant get via other apps for free. I tried Newton not for the features but in the hopes that the price would bring a top notch cross-platform experience. Unfortunately, its not been that. Ultimately, this is a good app, but the price is not justifiable.

This application and its predecessor have been my primary email app for a few years now, while I've temporarily left to try almost every other service available. This is the best of them all and is worth the subscription fee, in my opinion. It does the best job of reliably syncing changes to the server and handles every email service. Suggestion: the option to put the toolbar (delete, archive, move buttons) on the bottom of the screen would be great, especially with larger phones.

Newton is almost perfect. Unfortunately, little bugs are ruining the experience. It's not often updated. I regret that I've paid. Annoying bugs, just to list a few: - When writing an email, many times you cannot see the whole text. I have to make it a draft, then close it, and open again. Usually several times while composing. - Search in Gmail is not working properly at all. Only sees the last few emails, maybe a month or so. - Drafts are not saved to Gmail, so you cannot continue easily.

Been using the app since last year and now they have a very responsive dedicated development team they have resolved all the issues I've ran into in the past. Features such as read receipts and notifications when a user clicks a link are unheard of in other apps and they continue to add these kind of original features. All while retaining the simple to use, uncluttered user interface. Would recommend, especially the desktop app.

There is some sort of subscription issue with my Newton account. Initially support was very responsive; however, once they indicated there was a fix they could implement, I have not been able to get a response to any of my follow up emails. So I've paid for a subscription but the app says I'm not subscribed and the support team won't return my emails. Great job Newton. I've been happy with the App in the past but you're starting to lose a customer.

This is my favorite email client WHEN it's working. I can access my accounts from any device and send emails with a logo, even from my phone. What I don't like is the increasing frequency of crashes. At the moment, I cannot open the app from my Pixelbook using the Android app. Nothing has changed with the Chrome OS, but suddenly Newton is useless. This is the second time this scenario has happened in as many months. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but nothing is working.

For those that had multiple email accounts, this was a God send and worth the money. I have ( that I pay attention to) 17 email accounts. Most are for work. Most people didn't understand what the benefits this app offered. My battery would drain quickly do to every account syncing ever so often. This app stop that dramatically. Instead of syncing on my end, it synced on their servers and sends push notification of new mail or event. That's one of the reasons of the subscription cost. I cant find any other app that will do that. Will miss it badly.

Terrible. This could be the best email system on the planet but it's so slow. I really want to like Newton but for an Android user or Windows, it's awful to use. The features that make this app a total game changer are the integrations with other apps but the issue here is that it can take me minutes to process a single email waiting for it to load. This kills any real potential value of using the app. I select an email, then wait for 10-60 seconds before it shows up if it even does.

I agree with the comments here. Functionally, the app is "fine" but there is absolutely nothing that sets it apart from other email clients, and certainly nothing that justifies 50 dollars a year! For a paid email client, nine Mail offers much more for a single cheaper price. On the other hand, the Edison email app offers nearly all the same features as Newton and more for free!

Umf as much as I love this app and use it on my pc as well, every few months it seems to massively struggle to sync. I keep having emails showing as sent but definitely never sent, and only appear as sent on one device but not the other, and never actually received by recipient. Massive lag in updating inboxes, it really struggles so much that it has now become a liability and completely unreliable, though I stuck with it for a long time because I loved it, unfortunately no longer usable...Sad..

An email app with middling functionality. You can't access attachments, it has trouble displaying embedded images in emails, and basic things like Snoozing an email have limited options. The "long list of integrations" is also pretty short, though better than any other Android app. It does have one key feature for custom domain owners with properly configured email services, it allows quick definition of "aliases" to change your From address if your service supports that.

I'm not giving a 1 star because I LOVE the app! It's an absolute 5 star aside from your pricing model. I'm giving a 2 star to hopefully get your attention... I started with ClougMagic November 2013 and I've been loyal every since. I begrudgingly paid the $50/yr when it first increased. Luckily the app was shut down before I had to make a decision about renewing at $120/yr. I was SO EXCITED when Newton recently returned because there was NOTHING in the app store that could compare. I again signed up at $50/yr. Still unhappy about it but there were no other options. Now there are other options. Spark has been one of the best iOS apps for a long time and they've now launched for Android! AND it's free!!! The early version still has some bugs but by the time my renewal comes around with you they'll have those worked out. If you're still at $50, I'll be leaving. I'll pay something out of loyalty but NOT $50. PLEASE reconsider your pricing model!

may begrudgingly purchase a year of this just due to the lack of email clients that work on android, macos, and windows. the features are okay, but nothing really special. it does beat web-based gmail by way of having a smart low-priority folder, stealth receipts, and todoist integration. but the interface is dated, folders can't even be renamed on mobile, and there's no a.i. for organizing cluttered inboxes. you have to do everything manually. basically, make this more like inbox, please.

I have thoroughly enjoyed using this mail application for a few years now. Originally I felt that Outlook was going to be the way to go or some other available email software. But they are very helpful & I was saddened of the news that they stopped trading last November as I was hooked using their app & SaaS for many yrs. The focus is purely email (w' calendar integration). I thought I would not enjoy the experience however YOU just focus on email & it stops distraction. Great Mac & iOS too.

Feature wise this would have been a perfect app. But there are two big problems. 50 dollars a year for a mail app after all these years I wish Newton just went open source for the sake of giving humanity a good mail app with great features. 2. The design of Newton lacks a lot. Spark looks so amazing, coming from Spark I just can't accept the current newton design which looks like it's years old. No icon, only boxes. It's a classic old design which really needs an upgrade.

High expectations for this app seeing the trial. Bought subscription. Well, I thought that features missing, like offering RTF were just disabled on the trial. Thus no colored text , bold, underlined, fonts, text size. Of these the really necessary are B, I, U, SIZE, and COLOR. I poked during the trial period, and assumed those features were disabled because it was a trial. Shall I known, I wouldn't have bought. But, that is my fault, and of couse I can't expect the developer to refund.

Unuseable on TABLETS or CHROMEBOOKS. I really love this app and email, but ONLY on my three phones. It constantly crashes and freezes up on my Pixelbook and android tablet. I really wish they made a dedicated app for tablets or chromebooks. Even a web-based version would be great. I have no issues with paying a yearly fee. Please fix this to work on tablets, chromebooks and/or web browsers!

Once a great app, now destroyed by horrible support and updates with bugs. We are not able to read emails any longer, it simply does not work at all on any devices. We asked for a simple bug fix over a year ago, and they simply do not care about fixing it. This app is entirely broken now, and they don't seem to care at all. What a waste of a good app.

Adi. S. Jun 4, 2020

I have shifted between multiple emails apps and pretty much tried them all. Newton has and is so far the best out there. It's superfast, clean and has add ons that no other app provides. I'm only hoping that the new management is able to sustain the app for a long duration.

Cra. Feb 3, 2021

STAY FAR AWAY! There are tons of bugs in all versions of the app. Advertised features are constantly broken and when reaching out to support you are just ignored. When contacting one of the owners, I was essentially told that fixing the broken features is not their current priority as they are busy making new features (which are also full of bugs). Updates take months and nothing is ever fixed. It's a shame that the new owners destroyed a once great app. They only want to take people's money.

Chr. V. Apr 12, 2019

Nice looking app, lots of features, but buggy. Tried engaging support regarding a bug I found with the app not properly loading my archived messages (loading a few recent, then 10 year old messages and nothing else) and never received a reply. Not particularly confidence inspiring for a mail client that costs as much as most annual paid email plans.

Mic. K. Apr 4, 2022

The interface is clean and very easy to use, however, I lost thousands of dollars and hours if my time because it can't sync automatically. Lately, increased app crashes mean you lose emails you've been working on for the day. Switching to Spark.

Luc. J. Mar 15, 2022

Echoing the chorus of poor reviews. This used to be a great app. Is now riddled with nonsense "improvements". I've emailed customer support 3 times requesting assistance - none of which received a reply. Will not be renewing when subscription expires.

Fak. A. Mar 26, 2022

I see a lot of complaints in the comments and I'm not sure why this app was magically able to break through my work security and I'm able to get my emails on my rooted phone that otherwise my job requires Microsoft intune for and blocks because of root. For that reason I'm very impressed but I'm on the trial and I'm not sure what happens after the 14 days if I'm forced to pay I likely won't be able to afford to keep it still a cool app though!

Jff. T. Apr 3, 2020

One of the best email clients out there. From read receipts, to email reminders, and a super streamlined user interface that made managing my inbox super easy. Super bummed, to say the least, that they will be shutting their doors for a second time.

Owa. L. Apr 7, 2021

It's very good, really like the speed and minimalism. Though there are some minor things that I am still waiting for - like the ability to quickly add a contact to my address book. True inbox was a great idea but I had to turn off in the end, found that I send far too many emails that I don't need to keep in my view.

Wad. W. Nov 7, 2019

I used to love this app. After it came back I hesitantly decided to pay for it again but notifications constantly go off on my phone. Unless I clear them, they go off, then stop, then go off 3 more times, then stop and then continue to go off until I clear them. I tried to take this up with support and initially they were great but then they just stopped communicating. Now Google has blocked the app unless I go through a whole process to allow 3rd party api apps... Sorry I'm done.

Ang. A. May 8, 2021

Downloaded ihis as trial. Although I love the features like send later, read receipts and tidy inbox, unfortunately it is very slow to use. My email folders do not sync, I also get like 3 minutes of delay when receiving new emails. I have decided to go back to using outlook, which loads all emails and folders instantaneously. I have cancelled my account after 3 days.
