No closed captioning.. I contacted support via the Chromecast app because I cannot find the settings for Captioning. The response was as follows: "Hello, Thank you for your email, The option is at the bottom right of the video player. " There aren't any settings on the video/video player/Chromecast or on the phone app. I followed up the email with screenshots showing the problem and I got no response. Disappointed.

So many problems. Junk app. Apps freeze even on powerful phone. No ways to choose language for a movie even if the movie is available in many language. Search is broken, you can't find a movie by director's name.. and by the title? You have one chance on 2 that it will just not show in search result. This app is a shame knowing is made by our taxes.

On a Galaxy Tab S7+; since the update I start the app, I get a white screen and nothing happens. I reinstalled and got the same result.

I love watching NFB films. However, I have 2 complaints with this app. First, I used to use the search function and it worked fine. Now I have a new phone and suddenly the search function doesn't work. I search for titles I KNOW are on the site, but the search comes up as the title being non-existent. Second, I saved several titles to my favourites, only to find that the entire list had been erased the next day. This also happened at least 2 or 3 times on my old phone as well as on my new phone.

I really enjoy the classic Canadian Vignettes videos. Childhood memories! Thanks for making these available! I will show them to my nephew and educate him in some Canadian television history! Unfortunately, this app is not compatible with my nVidia Shield Pro. As such, I have had to deduct 1 star from my rating. Developers, if you're reading this, please make it work on the Shield! Fullscreen mode works perfectly for me on 3 separate devices, an S9+, an S20 Ultra, and a Tab S4. I suspect the other users whose reviews indicate they are having problems are experiencing a PEBKAC error.

Last update fixed for me the crashing problem (white screen issue). Work very well now. And I can cast without issue. Thanks! (Old review: Keep crashing on my samsung s10e, and it is really unfortunate because otherwise what ONF Haas put together is fantastic. I would really wish to be able to enjoy it from my phone.)

It has been months and all this app is giving my Android Q6 is an unresponsive white screen, so as far as I am concerned it is useless. If it worked again I would give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐, and if it had "explore by general subject" like on the website ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Can't wait until that happens.

would like to have a switch-to full screen format on this one. i am watching on my phone and honestly it's better if it has this format for a better viewing experience. content-wise, it is simply amazing.

For anyone interested in Canadian history or films that document the Canadian experience, this corporation and app is a goldmine! Amazing content on here with a beautiful interface and easy-to-use streaming/chrome casting feature.

Nice update and finally able to watch movies from start to finish without crashing, freezing, sudden exits, needless pauses...

No full screen option? That's unacceptable. Also how about updating YouTube with better than 360/480p. This is supposed to represent Canada to the world? Embarrassing!

No full screen mode in landscape mode is ridiculous. 1080p is reduced to half on Android tablet. Whose idea was that?

was great until it stopped working a month or so ago. now there's only a blank, white screen. disappointing.

nice... but it just gobles up space (over 2gig) and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to purge the old files...

The screen controls for forward, reverse stop, start do not work on my two Android 7.1 devices.

I LOOOVE having access to so much canadian content, but I have this app on my chromebook and there isnt a rewind button. Is that normal?

Forces you to enable local file access. No other streaming app *requires* this permission.
