NHK News Reader with Furigana

The app would be amazing but I am always copying text to other programs and using google translate (which you don't have to switch programs to use btw) but after the text is selected the page won't scroll anymore and I can't select any other text. Fix for 5 stars.

There's a bug with selecting text and the "web search" option - it only works once and the text is now permanently selected, no way to select anything else without closing and reopening the article. Edit - removed a star for constantly nagging to rate it every few minutes, even though I already rated it days ago

When I give the app all my attention it operates properly. But like a lazy employee, the moment I navigate away to check an email or go to the dictionary, the app stops working properly and the screen goes white or freezes on one part of the page when I come back. I regret paying for it.

Ok I don't understand much yet but in the future this will be very helpful as you get video and the accompanying text written with furigana which is great. The only minor issue is that sometimes the news anchor talks for a bit before getting to the written text so you get lost for a little bit but all in all this is good. I wish there were more apps that have Japanese audio matching kanji with furigana as this is what foreign language learners badly need.

Switching this app to background and back will not redraw the article (content is white without pictures or text). Returning to top level menu does not remember which category you last opened an article from (it should). Copy function should definitely NOT copy furigana - makes the whole copy mostly unusable. What this app really needs is an option to enable on-tap dictionary functionality where layer appears on top of the content to display dictionary entry for the word (see Rikaikun/Rikaichan for FF/Chrome) for settings configurable duration and then disappear again. Like someone here already noted, selected text does not become unselected (in my case, selecting "Assist") and requires exiting the article and reopening it. Please address these issues, as I really really need an app like this.

Currently after highlighting words to google assist or translate it will cause the words to stay highlighted and unable to scroll up or down unless you leave the article. Please fix as the News Easy ver doesn't have this problem

I saw that easy news has e offline mode for unlocker.. Please consider having it for this app too because it will be really helpful when readers read on trains and connection can be quite bad then the app do not load.. It is quite frustrating 😤 thus please do consider the function. Thank you! I will definitely get the unlocker if there is such functionality. It will be goood to have a dictionary... 😊

Videos only play about half the time. There's no dictionary. No offline mode (ability to download articles). No text-to-speech. No updates for over a year! Purchasing the full version (for $5?! Ouch!) does NOT add any functionality. Your other app, "Easy Japanese News Reader", does provide many of these functions. This app is a MAJOR disappointment - and that is BEFORE encountering the freezing issue that pops up whenever switching to another app and back.

The page freeze after I left the app for other application. Hope this bug can be fixed soon. Thx. Overall, this is a very good app

Although it is declared by the apps that it shows furigana as well as kanji but the fact is i cant get furigana... 1 thing more these apps are a tendency to stop maximum time... so I request to the authority to improve this apps....

Bug When reading an article, switch to another app and switch back, the app freezes which cannot scroll the article up or down, please fix this issue thanks

I wanted to copy the kanji to a dictionary but the screen froze after that. I need to reopen the app again in order to use. Uninstalled

When some text is selected for translation , app does not allow to scroll or select text anymore .. please fix it .. other than that , it is very useful app to learn Japanese ..

I installed, clicked on the news, waited for long time, but the video does not play at all.

Thank you for making this useful app, but there is one problem that sometimes I want to copy the word to look up to the dictionary, I can only do it once, then I have to log out, log in again to copy the other words which is very time consuming

Good app but it hasn't got any dictionary like other apps have. The unlock version hasn't it neither... And when you back from settings page it redirects you to a blank page.

Have problems sometimes but is good to study japanese

purchased full version, but still found some news not having furigana, can't play sound/video and can't see what new features included? i though its same with not full version one.

Edit : Furigana is back, developer respond to users report very fast, great !
