NHK News Reader with Furigana and Dictionary

The app is really handy for studying higer levels of Japanese and makes the articles properly scaled for mobile usage. There is one problem which I seem to have when I go back to the app after I switched to another app to look something up. The text gets stuck and you cant scroll up or down unless you go back and open the article again.

This and the easy version are great tools for intermediate and advanced Japanese learners. All Kanji come with furigana and some of them have their meaning explained below the article. News are updated every day. And there's no annoying/intrusive ads too, everything is absolutely free. Great way to nail down the grammar and vocabulary you've learned and pick up some new words as well.

It freezes every time I switch to another app and doesn't let to scroll the page anymore. So every time after that you have to close the news, go back and open it again. Such an annoying bug destroys all the pleasure reading news. Will use some app that is more convenient.

I like the fact that this app exists but it is not optimised in any way. The most annoying thing is that if you close the app or anything, when you go back it's frozen and you have to close the article. It's really really annoying to the point that I dread using the app. Please fix this I would be so happy with it then.

I used it for 2or 3 years bit it is not working anymore and even if I unistall it, my subscription is still being paid monthly. Help me solve the issue! It was great and now is NOTHING, ZERO.

This app is a great tool for all levels of Japanese but especially those studying for the higher JLPT exam. It is easy to understand, easy to use and makes the learning process more efficient. The team working on this app is also responsive to questions and clearly passionate about this, so on all levels I would give it more than 5 stars. ★５つ以上です。

Very useful app for Japanese reading practice. However, the articles having furigana is limited. It would be awesome if all the articles carry furigana as audio assistance.

pretty nice if you're studying Japanese. the furigana and links to a dictionary are incredibly useful. but the adds and bugs are quite annoying.

A "furigana is not available" pop up to all the articles and no dictionary. I tried a redownloading, refreshing and waiting. Nothing fixed it :(

Excellent! My only point if improvement could be that it does freeze when minimised to look at another app. But great other than that it's fab. Thanks!

I was always scared to read neww in japanese because its a hurdle to get past the more difficult terms and kanji. But this app has made it incredibly fun and eeucational, and ive realised how much i actually understaned.

["Watch NHK News everyday for free with Furigana, Dictionaries and Offline Mode!"] Offline mode is not free. Not everything is clickable. A lot of Japanese is written in kana, even if there is a kanji counterpart.

Good!! Its very nice app for my learning. And I hope please add word a color to indicate the level of JLPT. For example red for N1, blue for N2, etc. Thank you...

Frequently crashes. Only displays translation after a considerable lag. Constantly asks for rating.

This apps is really useful because you can adjust whether there are furigana or not. But now i'm living in Japan somehow furigana cannot pop up. Just wondering why was that happen ?

Its an excellent app to practice Japanese. There should be an inbuilt dictionary too.

Just now I want to use the app but no articles appear, only just "loading content" but there is none to read.

I learn Japanese on top of news.

says it has furigana, but any and all articles I picked gave me a no furigana available try again next time...could you guys mark the articles that have furigana?
