Nice Simple Clock (Widget)

Just what I wanted (almost) lots of adjustment. Just want time and date on homescreen big enough to not have to put my reading glasses on to see but only taking up one line. This app does it. Only one thing I would like extra would be like a smaller two line date/month on the left and a big time to the right of it. It works fine though because you can stretch everything to use the maximum of the widget area. Thanks!

Fantastic App. I have installed it on my S8 and S9+. Works great. Totally customizable. Exactly what I was loking for. The original home screen clock wasn't big enough and depending on the background couldn't be seen well. This app lets you pick any color and font size. You can select the way you want the date shown and the way you want the time shown. I have no idea why the Samsungs app doesn't have these great feature, but I am glad I found this app. Thank you for providing this!!

Perfect! By far the best clock time / date app and widget. Incredibly customisable and robust yet light weight (it has a tiny file size and ram memory usage.) And no suspicious data/internet usage like some apps do! I have tried over 20 clock widgets in the past few years and this is the winner. I have a very cheap phone with low specs, but I run 2 widgets of it for time and date and I play with the customisation every time I change my wallpaper so it is the perfect size, colour and position, and I have been running it for over a year now with zero bugs or hassles. Thank you so much developer, it's is perfect!

I just wanted a big clock, it's taken ages to find an app that lets me have that. Usually they include a whole weather app or the max size is 3x1 grid or something. The only change I would make to this app is that when you add am/pm it throws the centring off, rather than just adding it to the side. You can move the whole clock back to the middle but then the date underneath is offset because of that.

The best clock widget I have ever used. It's nice and simple as it says. It could be customised perfectly to suit with one's requirements. But the two negative points that I found up to now were, 1. The widget has to be placed again after a restart of the phone. (Fortunately the settings done will not change) 2. The widget does not work when the phone is set to (medium) power saving mode. Hope these issues will be fixed in future to make it the best widget of the kind in Play Store

I like using Google's "At a Glance" widget...and I also like a large digital clock above it. But if I use Google's own clock widget, it includes the date with no option to hide it. Essentially - it looks pretty bad if you use both of Google's widgets -- clock and "at a glance" together. This "Nice Simple Clock" solves that problem, and adds a bit of style in the process. Not perfect, but it's mostly fine, and the best option out there that I've seen so far. First - with regard to my comment above - when I set up the Nice Simple Clock widget, I turn off the date display, and position it right above the "at a glance" widget. The Clock widget allows you to control font size and color -- very nice touch. You can also choose from a variety of styles for formatting the time display -- very nice. I still really like Google's own alarm clock / timer / stopwatch, so I set the Clock widget tap response to simply open Google's own Clock app. This works perfectly. I've found that the widget comes up blank when I restart my phone. I'm using the latest Android 11 (patched up to date) on a Pixel 5. The first few times this happened I finally gave up and had to reset all my preferences for font size and color. A bit irritating. I just installed the January Android update, rebooted and saw the blank clock widget -- this time I tried clearing the Nice Simple Clock's app cache, and after waiting a few seconds the display actually came up again properly without needing any reset. This could be a better experience, but it's not a major issue, especially now that I figured out the workaround. The last extra feature I think would be nice to see would be to allow selection of actual font -- not just thickness, size and color. It's always nice to have choices. Could use a bit more polish, but overall, I'm happy with this.

Very cool app with lots of customization options. 4 stars bcuz sometimes it shows the wrong time. I found if i tap the clock it will update to correct time, but that's not really good enough as i always am worried if the time is right or not. The instructions for excluding this from optimisation processes is not clear enough for the average user.

Incredibly, although there are many options for the time format, there's none for just "9:00"—you must include a leading zero ("09:00"). Is that considered standard in the country where this was written? It's just clutter here. There's also way too much vertical space between the time and date, and no way to change it. Too bad. The developer needs to learn a bit more about graphic design and the use of space.

This was the best clock app in my book. Change color and look of clock w/ option not to have weather stuck with it or day/date being forced. I had to replace phone recently and I guess this model phone stops it from working properly. Bummer. There is no other app with these customizable functions...I challenge anyone to find one on Android. They're all garbage.

Does what it says on the tin, even five years later! If you don't mind a barebones interface for configuring it (supports all but selecting fonts) then it's perfect. The default clock widget for my Note 9 was far too small to have any more use than the notification bars tiny one; this app circumvents that inconvenience.

It seems to have lost it's ability to keep the correct time. When I open the screen it has the wrong time. If I am doing something with the phone for 10 minutes, the time does not update at all until I touch the time displayed. It then shows the correct time but won't change again until I touch the display again. Useless

Used to be great. Easy to customize and did what it promised. Every so often time wouldn't be right but if you clicked then backed out it would reset and be fine again for long time. Now it has the wrong time multiple times per week. Defeats the purpose of a clock app if the time is always wrong.

10⭐s ! This app is excelente. You can adjust it up to a HUGE display, so no more hunting for readers. Then I installed KinScreen. That app uses your phone's motion sensor. When you pull your phone out of your pocket, it automatically brings up the home screen with your GIANT TIME on it. When you're in bed, wave your hand over the phone and the clock doubles as a night light! This NSC app is customizable A to Z. Day & time can individually be tapped on to start another app (1 for each). NICE !

Just perfect. I love this! I especially like the click to launch feature. Would love a settings backup option. Also, you have to open settings to get it to display the correct time after you reset your phone. I have samsung s10. These small issues are still worth it.

I love this widget and its customization. Easily five stars for that. The problem is that nearly everytime (about 80%) I restart me phone, I have to place the widget again and redo all the settings. I can never get ot quite the same way twice. Fix this problem so the widget reloads everytime as others do and it would be a five star for sure!

Absolutely fantastic. Works great on Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Android 11. For those who experience time freezing issues I suggest to visit App settings and whitelist this app in battery saver / always active mode, same thing for Autostart enable option, then you have to simply wait 2-3 minutes to appear after reboot, but if it doesn't just tap on widget's area and it will appear back! Simple, customizable, no ads, every feature is there (weekday, clock/stopwatch app shortcut).

UPDATE: APRIL 19 2022 1 week new TCL20S. I have to constantly reset the time. Woke up at 9:15, the app was stuck at 2:34am. Please, do something about this. ************* JAN 24/22 Still not keeping time. PLEASE FIX THIS!! 2 year new s10e...Clock is not keeping time... or just not loading at all. I have to keep refreshing it. More annoying than it's worth. I never had issues with my Note 5. I love this widget. Please advise.

Thanks for this app, the most lightweight and neat balanced out there. Update: the clock does stuck on a past time, on my new Samsung device with Android 11, OneUI 3.1, I have to tap on the clock to get updated/refreshed, ill have to uninstall it if it is not fixed. I can't be reading a wrong time suddently without reason. Maybe the author has passed away, since he doesn't reply to any of his apps messages. And his apps are dated from 2011.

The customizable features allow me to individualize position, colors, and size, which I really like. What frustrates me is how the clock doesn't display current time. It shows the time when I last logged on, so I have to keep clicking on it to see time at this moment.

Was great but lately it gives me the wrong time and is often out by half an hour or more. I have to open settings and close them to get it to display the correct time.

[NEEDS BACKUP OPTION] I can't stand having to reset the clocks when I restore a Nova Launcher layout. It needs a backup option. I like this app a lot, the only problem I have with it is every time I do a Nova Launcher layout update, because the settings are stored inside Nova Launcher instead of the app itself, when I refresh my Nova Launcher layout I have to readjust the clocks the way I what it which is very frustrating especially when you're trying to manage three or more devices.

This app work well on my old phone but ever since I went to the Samsung Galaxy S9 There is a major lag in the time that is displayed when the phone has been idle and you open the lock screen. It continues to just show the time that the phone went to sleep. Fix that and I would give it 5 stars again!

This is brilliant and works perfectly on Android 11. I can change text position, size and colour etc and move it about on the home screen and no annoying adds. I highly recommend it.

Exactly what I was looking for, sadly refuses to reload when phone is turned off and back on again meaning it has to be readded and all the customisation redone. Too much trouble.

The time is never correct on Android 11. On Android 9, it works beautifully. It looks like the developer has abandoned the app. Hasn't updated it in over 1.5 years. His email address doesn't exist anymore. His website hasn't been updated since 2016. Hasn't posted anything on Twitter since 2016.

This used to be one of my favorite apps ever, but since the latest Android update, the time is completely off, sometimes lagging by hours, sometimes minutes. Unfortunately it is just not dependable anymore. As much as I have come to rely on it in the past, it looks like I'm going to have to move on and find something else:(

Have used this app for years. Love it... you can make it large enough to read without glasses! It has: Different fonts A choice of formats A range a colours etc, etc. Awesome.
