Night Mode

Works well but one issue is the nav bar at the bottom of the screen remains a bright blinding white colour. If the devs can change this to black it would be much better. It would also be good to have a setting where this app stops at a chosen time in the morning. It can be hard to find the stop button when the sun comes up and the screen is dim.

Great application. When I booted the app the first time on my device (Samsung S20), the bottom and top of the screen wasn't affected. To fix this, I forced the app to fill the whole screen, through the system settings. Maybe the next update will automatically do this, but this workaround wasn't too much hassle. Would recommend

Unfortunately, it doesn't affect the lock screen, the notification area, Quick Panel, or button bar—but apparently Google has prevented apps from doing this for "security"—so till phone makers realize their displays don't dim enough, it seems like apps like this are the best we can hope for. This one would be much easier to use if just its slider appeared when you adjusted it, rather than covering the whole screen and making us guess how much we were dimming what we were actually going to see.

I wish there was a way to change the brightness of the home key panel and push notifications. Even with the brightness on my phone and this app turned all the way to the lowest settings, in a completely dark room or an airplane at night, the home keys across the bottom if the screen or push notifications & clock are not covered by this app. It defeats the purpose if the whole screen isnt covered as your eye is naturally drawn to tge super bright keys on the screen.

This is a great app, and I use it almost daily. It just needs a "schedule" function, where you can set it to turn on automatically between 8pm and 7am, Monday through Friday (or whatever you want to set it to.) However, if you forget to turn it off and you had the brightness set very low for low-light conditions, and then go to a bright-light situation, and your phone is locked, you won't be able to see the numbers on your screen to enter your pass code.

Its actually really good, I had low expectations at first but I think it's great. It doesn't darken the navigation bar, notifications panel, nor the edge screen on Galaxy S8. But I understood why its because it's probably too much work to ask users to allow this app to be run as an administrative app. And most people don't like handing control of their phone to random apps. I like it

Really good app using from a while, but i suggest to get the administrative perms and dark the navi bar too. And as a backup if the user does not wanna allow them they can leave it just like that. Eagerly waiting for it!! Thanks - minsiam

Simple app, works well at dimming the screen very low. Used it for years but got sick of having to open the app to turn it on and off -- it needs a stop/start control in the notification bar. Finally switched to a similar app that has this function.

Used this app for the last 5+ years and have loved it. For whatever reason I can no longer do anything on my phone once it's running. I have to force restart to close the app. Hoping this gets fixed soon! - Samsung Galaxy User

I liked the app itself a lot... but I had to uninstall it. Unlike every other app ive tried, the second I open this one, the default Brightness slider on my phone's quick tab pull-down menu completely disappears. That means when I'm done with the app, I'd have to go to settings the long way to change brightness each time or reboot (bc it reappears instantly with reboot)

This WAS the perfect app, which I relied on for years. This fall (Nov. 2021) after the Android update, it is no longer useable: once the app is dimming the screen, touch no longer works for anything. Which makes the entire phone unuseable. I have to restart the phone to shut off the app. No use trying something else: the update to Android seems to have broken ALL the screen-dimming apps.

App is perfect. Dims screen better than expected. Only issue is when adjusting volume, the volume bar is pretty bright so I always end up flinching from that. But otherwise great app!

So far so good so what, no complaints as described as of now anyway, very helpful on some sites I gotta wear sunglasses to view, good job just don't do anything like most apps trying to make it better and mess it up, I'd like to keep it not uninstall it, 1 thing I am guessing it doesn't work on other apps like Mercari or others that don't have a option for dark theme? If I'm missing something appreciate it if you could let me know? Really good app ty

I have used this free app several years loved it then and love it now. Im using this app while typing this after having a sudden realization of my appreciation. My current phone is so bright and I cant stand that giving me headaches literally. This app saves my physical health time after time. Thanks for this app. Best there is in this genre.

I really liked this app when I had a S6. I've upgraded to a s9+ and the app is not as great. The notification bar stays the exact same brightness which defeats the purpose. It's a little upsetting that it works but only partially.

I like the general idea of this app, that it overrides the system brightness. However, the notification bar (top of screen) and system navigation bar (bottom) are just as bright as ever, making the app essentially pointless.

Great for listening to the audio of a YouTube video without having to pay Google for premium membership to lock the screen during playback just to save my device's battery. Night Mode turns the light down on my screen lower than Android can go. So, ionically, it's a brilliant app!

I've used this app for a few years at this point. I've seen absolutely no ads, ever. This app is also very straightforward, to darken your screen is its goal. That's all it is. Its very useful and can make it surprisingly dark. Would recommend

I've used this app ever since I've had a phone, but it just wasn't cutting it due to its inability to dim the notification bar and the 3 buttons at the bottom of screen. Also its lowest still sometimes is too bright. So I found a free app that does what i need!

Literally been using this for years. Probably just a few years after it was first developed. Reliable even across multiple phones, no fluff just a simple tap and your screen is dim. Thanks for your app, you have no idea how useful this is.

There is a bug for Samsung A10s when using the app the whole screen isnt being darkened the top and bottom parts are still bright. Mabye you can increase the height for the dark so it can reach the top and bottom. But it really is a good app.

I'd recommend it. The problem is that the white navigation bar at the bottom of the screen doesnt seem to be dimmed. In fact, it gets a bit brighter when you enable the night mode. Quite annoying for me. Hopefully this is fixed soon.

I like the app but it would be nice if you could make all backgrounds in black similar to the color invert feature on phones. However, videos and pictures would be normally displayed. Also, a automatic on off

Best one for me so far , i can turn it down to 10% as my eyesight hurts when its too bright. thank god for these apps otherwise i wouldnt be able to use my phone in bed , and it doesnt give any annoying ads

Love the app, installed it a while ago, but now even though the setting is checked, the back button and the button to switch apps comes on every time I touch the screen. Why buy an app if it is problems still exist after a few years?

Would be a 5 star app if it wouldn't go for dim to super bright every 20 seconds. It does not dim soft keys nor is able to overide while playing a game. The interface and dimmer levels are nice but the latter makes it bad espeically when your eyes are go from dim to super bright

The app doesn't work properly. My navigation buttons don't get dimmed and neither does the menu. There is also no option for colour filters to reduce blue light. It's just a screen dimmer.

Best nighttime brightness app I've ever tried! Been using it for years. Except I wish the phone backlight buttons would actually disable when I select the setting for it to ~ but that's only on my S7.
