Doesn't darken Web pages, only parts of dolphin browser itself. From reading other reviews this is due to an update to dolphin. Please update the plug in.
Need to improve, it reduces the screen brightness and texts go out of focus
recent browser update has broken night mode. Please fix!!
doesn't do anything! night mode is already included in the Dolphin Browser
lol. this is a dumb mode. I can't see anything
I have been seeking a browser that inverts text color while preserving image color. This comes close, but falls short: 1. The inverted background is gray, which has poor contrast against the white text. A black background would be infinitely better. 2. I already run a brightness dimmer, which I have to turn off to use this. The auto-dimming gets in the way should be optional. 3. The ability to change text color to green would be a bonus. Green on black is easiest on the eyes.
Two things are missing to be 5 stars: - enable auto brightness. The forced low brightness is too dark. - change the background color from dark blue to Black These changes would allow me to use night mode even during the day to save battery in my Note II amoled screen.
Some little adjustments are needed. The main one for me is that it does not work well with every font color. Sometimes I see a blank page but as soon as I switch off the night mode, everything is there after which I understood what the problem was. So please fix this.
On Galaxy Note II it's literally too dark to distinguish objects on the (amoled) screen. OLED renders dark pixels much darker than an LCD. Please allow the colour scheme to be changed (system brightness is fine at lowest).
It really helps my eyes a lot during night time browsing, Yet, I've encountered an issue: with night mode enabled, if you visit facebook, the whole webpage appears black, there is no way to read the text, the pics also appear dark. You gotta disable night mode to be able to see the contents on FB; it really bugs me.
Every now and then I like to tuck into bed and read Lets Plays on LPArchive. This kicks the red header bar and retina-searing white background down to a wonderful dark grey. I do have to knock a star off for the forced minimum brightness, though. Some way to adjust it (or maybe a separate plugin for 50% brightness?) would make it perfect.
Flashes bright white between pages and really really hurt my eyes. It takes over my phone brightness setting too, and overwrites it, so no way I can keep the flashes down low.
the contrast. I would like to have completely black background. Easier to read and saves a lot of power on my amoled screen device.
I suffer with bad eyesight and find inverted colour modes extremely helpful when reading. This would like be perfect if you could customise the dimming effect as I would prefer to be able to just invert colours without dimming the screen. Dolphin would become my default browser with this feature!
I like the gray backround more than black one. But images are not visible in this mode, sadly :/
Surprised all mobile browsers do not have this function. I know Maxthon does. Dolphin is my fav mobile browser and now I'm glad it has night mode. Give your eyes a break! It's not good blasting your vision with a bright white screen background!
the background isnt nearly as dark as i wanted it. The overall screen becomes too dim also. You can adjust it, but after you set it off the screen becomes too bright. Its worth trying but its just not for me. I prefer nightmode from dolphin reader.
At least someone is trying. But a transparent tint layer over text is not helpful.
Produces a dark, low contrast screen that is legible only in complete darkness. What we need is an ordinary high contrast dark theme that is legible under any lighting conditions.
All this is is a brightness dimmer. I can dim the phone in my settings. Don't need an app for that.
It is excellent when used at night. Bug disables night mode when back button is used while surfing. So have to cycle off and on again. But annoyingly bright when it does.
The dimness level is fixed. It works for me only in darkness. Difficult to use in lighted areas. Even increasing the device brightness doesnt fix the issue.
Hi just dropping by to say this add on for dolphin browser app is good! I was searching for night mode in browser for android everywhere, and its surprising not many browser have them. Very pleasing to the eyes, pls keep up the good work!
works great but cant seem to see any images while using Facebook. Its abt time this app needs an update.
Because I think the black background can save more energy. That way is more useful. It's too dark for normal use though.
It's a great idea and I would love to use it more, but it needs to at the very least have a way to adjust the brightness. It seems like its way to dim especially when paired with my auto brightness settings.
The feature is great, but it's forcing me to stay in night mode. It isn't responding to tapping it off nor disabling it.
It used to work perfect on my mytouch 3g a few years ago, now it won't work on my new Samsung exhibit. The text and images are completely dark cannot see whatsoever
Worked fine until recently. Now the "night mode" boils down to a black search bar and home page. All white webpages stay white and no longer convert to black, which hurts my eyes and stops me from reading at night. I thought this was a bug at first, so tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, did nothing. Restarting my phone, nothing. So I'm guessing it's an update. To which I ask, why? This is so much worse than before. Do not recommend.
