Night Owl Connect

I have the nightowl on my business and it almost never works, the equipments is great, the doorbell camera has excellent footage, very clear and way better than my ring at my home but the problem is the app doesn't work most of the time. When we first installed it 2 years back it worked 90% of the time but now only works 10% of the time. I have tried updating, Uninstalling app and reinstalling also trouble shooting on the phone with them nightowl and no success. Don't buy it the app doesn't work

Complete trash. I've had the system for over a year and it will no longer pull up my dvr. Rendering the system useless. Tried requesting a new password when I initially couldn't remember, and it never sent after four requests. I finally remembered my password and logged back in but the system just says connecting and never connects. DON'T BUY ANY OF THEIR PDODUCTS!

Buy all the expensive night owl stuff and I've owned it for 2 yrs plus.. I'd be surprised if it was online for more than 3 months total. I tried again and about to go to ring. I have ring outside. Ne er an issue Cameras were working fine then I went to look and none of them were connected at all. I have 4 of them. Regret ever even choosing them

The app is terrible. It will rarely load and allow you to view your cameras. I keep getting notifications for movement, but I can't actually see what is going on. Don't believe their responses to people saying they will look into the issue. They rarely have updates for their app. When they do, it will work for a while before they mess it up again. If you email them about their trash app, they will ignore you. I've had the system for over two years. It will never get any better.

We like having a door bell camera. It has came in handy for sure.When viewing, I just wish it would leave a line to show movement so you can go back & look at the specific time. You have to go back & pick random times or watch it all suupper slow.To see anything going on the day or so before. No option to speed up either. Please update this stuff and it would be perfect! UPDATE: HASNT WORKED IN A FEW WEEKS. JUST SAYS OFFLINE

Junk, cameras won't stay connected and then it comes up with out of tokens then you sign out and can't log back in. It just keeps saying wrong password. When you try to have a new one sent it doesn't send a code to your email. I see the developer has many apps, I suggest they focus on fixing one vs having so many with all the same problems. They worked good for like 3 days then by the time 2 weeks rolled around it was impossible.

UPDATE 1yr after first use Most of the connectivity issues appear to be ironed out. Regarding the app itself, it is still very slow to use. Im okay with its design despite being a bit outdated. High res viewing would be nice. My main issue is if you use the app and exit, when you return, the cameras will not load unless you force close the app first. So basically it cannot sit in the background while you do other things on your device. Update and fix that issue and id likely raise my rating.

Camera's are finally up and going. Clear picture. I can change functions if I like on the DVR with the mouse. However, why can't I put audio on my #2 camera? The app is horrible!!! I need to be able to use the app when away from home to be sure there isn't any unlawful activity. That's the point of the app, right?! It just keeps buffering, wifi on and off doesn't make a difference! Waited and waited on hold....kept saying your wait time is over 10 minutes, for over a hour. Nothing resolved.

Good equipment, terrible app. The cameras are great, picture quality is awesome even at night. But notifications of motion don't make a sound and 90% of the time I can't play the video back. It just buffers repeatedly. So, if you plan on sitting around and watching your camera feed all day and night, it's great. Otherwise, don't buy it until there has been a serious upgrade to the application.

Ap needs a major overhaul. It is glitchy. Sometimes you can't connect. Sometimes it kicks you out and you cannot connect at all. The features are broken. Can't fast forward the videos and they record a an hour long each so trying to find a specific point in the video is a no go. The cameras are great I can't complain, but there software is junk! Get it fixed and I'll rate 5 stars. You have enough bad reviews and some simple changes could make this a great product. DO NOT IGNORE YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!

I've purchased the doorbell and camera system just over a year ago. The app is very inconsistent. Slow to load. Logs me out randomly. Push notifications are intermittent. (3 to 5 minute delay on doorbell) I like that camera and door bell are on the same screen, but they are never a live shot. Why? The system itself is legitimate. Plenty of options and settings available to hone in on preferences. I would like to see the option to cast the system to any Smart TV. Disappointing product.

I've had this doorbell for more than 6 months and its only credit is that it records movement. It will not reconnect to WiFi if there is a blip in power at home, you know, like a thunderstorm. You have to go through the entire process to reconnect it WiFi. That means, removing the cover to access the reset button. When I have motion at the door and notified on my cellphone, when I try to view it the video just spins and spins and never loads. I have to go back out of that screen and then select the motion on the app. I've had quite a few friends ask me if I had the Ring door bell and I tell them I have this and that they should not buy it. I've gotten use to the nuisances and just deal with it.

This is being generous. The app is free, it is very easy to set up and when it actually functions as advertised, it's a home run. However, I have only had the app work corectly once maybe twice. I have to open, close, reopen and quite often repeat that process up to three times to even get the app to actually load and appear on the screen. Then after I view a camera, close it and try to view another camera I have to close the app and repeat the process mentioned earlier. Plus so much more

If you want an app that rarely works, this is what you need. Loses the DVR device on a regular basis and it might takes days, and constant uninstall/reinstall before it will work again. When it does manage to stay connected to the DVR, good luck trying to watch the video clips. Most of the time you only get to see a spinning circle but the video won't play. When they do work, you're only seeing a leaf fall or a quick buzz of an insect flying by because there seems to be no sensitivity setting.

On the create account page there is no create account submit button. I can enter my email and password, but there is nothing to click to actually create the account. Update: This was fixed by making the font on my phone screen smaller. The original screen would be easier to use in this situation if you could scroll it. Once I'm able to get in the app I like it so far.

I have a few issues with the product and app. 1. The power draw seems to make the chime produce a very low buzz. Sometimes when I use the talk button the chime actually rings. I couldn't find a solution for this in the literature. 2. There doesnt seem to be a way to disable notifications for motion detection. 3. There should be a custom notification sound, instead of the default. Most push notifications arent time sensitive and can be ignored until you have a moment to look through them, but somebody ringing your doorbell is time sensitive. These seem like pretty fundamental features. I dont want to be notified every time anyone in the household goes through the door and I do want a recognizable notification when somebody rings the doorbell. I'm really not sure how you overlooked this.

The app is practically useless. I installed it on several devices. Only one is able to find the system. And that one is able to view the live feeds no problem, but it will not view playback of any recorded events. Customer support is absolutely useless. Every single call starts with "do a factory reset, that will fix it". It really never fixes night owl problems. They are just just mass producing garbage with an occasional one that works. This is my 4th system that doesn't work.
