Night Owl Lite

I had to call 8 times to get a level 2 tech and after a week of run a round she said my dvr is NO good and I would need to buy a new one to get my camera's to work on my phone. Every time I had a problem I was told that I had to get a NEW dvr. I will never buy another product from nightowl again. When the system worked it was awesome, but the dvr is no good in less then two years. What a joke.💩💩💩💩

The laziest company and product support ever! You invest your time and money into their products which ultimately fail you. You would think their software developers would continue to update their ancient p.o.s apps after so many user complaints but no ofcourse not nightowl who shows you that they simply do not care. Point of having security cameras on your home that you can't remotely view? Garbage, useless junk provided by the worst of them all, Nightowl.

Well it was pretty good until it lasted for about 1 week there goes $60 down the drain

It will not load on my phone

Can't be trusted.Worked for almost a year then stopped working after latest android phone update, lollipop 5.0.But started working again after two days. Now 5 days later it stopped working again, but only on android phone with new Lollipop update. Installed another app called Myeyepro by the same person who made the night owl app and it worked fine. So the problem is probably how the app locates the server or how it displays the video. Stopped working again in November 2021.

When i first got my Samsung phone this app was not capable of performing on it (didn't support)but now it's working,thank you night owl you all guys are the best I have been using and selling night owl for over 10yrs

After a few days finally called tech support and they answered most of my questions. What tech support did not know was that with a Nexus 5 running android 4.1.2 it worked fine then I updated to Lollipop 5 it worked for a few days then stopped working. At the same time a new update 5.0.1 came out. I updated my phone and voila it worked again. Great system if you know what you are doing. If not call tech support.

I hook it up can see it from my phone at home threw WiFi but on the cellular network it doesn't show the image nor when I'm at work on the WiFi there needs update so u can use it anywhere other wise I'm gonna delete this app and return the system because my work has one and I can look at the images anywhere

Does not work since lollipop up date. Customer service blames Google instead of fixing a broken app. I was able to salvage system and view video by using IP cam viewer light. Another update the developer that makes night owls app makes MEYE. MEYE works on lollipop with video. I would assume night owl is not paying developer to update app. How is that for customer service. PAY YOUR DEVELOPER TO FIX YOUR APP

This app works great on my Samsung tab2. However does not on my LG G4. Was told Night owl light does not work on newer androids. And told to download night owl HD. However Night owl HD does not work with my TL DVR16 5GB. Hope I didn't buy a system that can't be viewed on newer phones. Called the support line, and it hangs up on me. After reading reviews below, downloaded meyepro. Works great.

just got off the phone with tech support. night owl lite is no longer supported with newer Android OS, so write down all the information on your device list, ip address, domain name, etc. and download meyepro. same developer i think, so it looks almost the same, and you need the same info. only difference is once you get one online and viewable, you need to click the tiles and add the other ones from the same device. boom, works perfectly. i have android 5.o on galaxy s5 and i just did this. it worked.

App will not stream video with Lollipop, Marshmellow, or Nougat. Completely useless now. I understand taking time to update, but THREE releases with no fix. Pathetic. This app is no longer supported by the developer. So glad I spent a bunch of money on sub-par camera quality, buggy DVR, and now non-functional apps. Stay away from Night Owl.

Its now been like 4 months and still not fixed, and I had another set of 8 camera to ne installed. Obviously need to return themLike everyone else, all screens show black. How can they let this go on for this long. I have seen comments going back a few weeks about this problem.

Doesn't work. as others have said it works for a few weeks. when Android updates the software stops working and will not play video. it will connect to the server but wont play any video. have worked many times with tech support and nothing works. They need to update their software. the excuse the DVR is no longer manufactured is bull crap for a reason to not fix the issue

NightOwlDvr Hardware works good but the mobile app does not function as intended. I need it to work right so i can remote view my system on my android. Tried configuring by the book(instructions), several alternatives, and changing domain name config around as well. No luck ,android app offical needs serviced.. thanks

Had this app for 1 year. Worked great. Never a problem unless it was with proper internet or router. Just upgraded to moto G 2 generation with lollipop 5.0.2 app completley useless. I connect it recognize the connection it buffers and it plays but does not show any video at all. Tried settings on phone and dvr to no avail. Had 5 stars. Now only 1 star.. Called tech support for nightowl and they were no help.

FIRST OF ALL THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM.......NOT ONLY DOES THE MOBILE APP NOT WORKING BUT THEIR SERVERS ARE PERMANENTLY DOWN WHICH MEANS EVEN IF U DOWNLOAD A THIRD PARTY APP FOR REMOTE ACCESS IT WILL NOT WORK

It's hard enough just to get the antiquated software to work, now the app quits working more often than not. Won't be buying another night owl when I happily replace this one. Contacted support more than once without response. So sad. It was rated good when I bought it.

Unable to see the video feed even tho it says playing.... This is happening on both my Amazon Fire Tablet and my Google Nexus 5x. Info is correct and it connects, buffers and plays, but no video feed shows up. Please help me out Dev! UPDATE developers contacted me and said to try MeyePro, works very well with my antiquated Night Owl system.

This app worked on one of my earlier mobile devices (Galaxy s5, or maybe s4), but on my current s6 it refuses to work. I found somewhere on the net that some network security stuff in android has changed and this app can't work with the new security now- In any case, it needs to be looked at to see if there's a way the developer can make it work again. Current state, does not connect to the dvr at all.

my cameras were working fine then all of a sudden nothing can't bring them up. We have tried several things like resetting our phones and tablets, deleting the app and downloading it again nothing.....😔

App stops working every week. I have to do a factory reset on my phone to make it work for a few days. I HATE this app

Video says connected but no video. Ptz controls do still work when using on phone and viewing camera locally on tv. - Update: cleared cache and user history in app manager for night owl, then uninstalled. Rebooted phone, reinstalled night owl and now video is working again.
