Night screen

I use this app pretty much everyday, does its job. However, since the last update on my Samsung S20, the screen doesn't react to touch anymore once the app is launched. I tried playing around with settings and permissions, but nothing seems to help. I hope you guys will do an update to fix this.

Update: does not work with Android 12.0 update. It doesn't let you select anything even though Draw Over Other Apps is enabled. Simple and effective. I love this app. I bought the full version so I could schedule it to come on and it is reliable and helps me lower the screen brightness for overnight in case I need to turn on my screen.

I used it for years, because I read on my phone to fall asleep, and dimming it to about 20 with this app is awesome. Always worked great... until now. My phone did an update (Samsung Galaxy S10e) and it would lock up certain things when I turned on Night Screen. So I updated the app... and now my entire home screen locks up and I can't do anything. So it's rather pointless now, sadly. Hope they fix the bugs. I'll have to find another app in the meantime.

I've been using this for years and it's been great. Since the 12.0 Android update it no longer works properly. When the screen is dimmed, you can't really do much of anything (touch does not work). I'll put this to a 5 when it's fixed. I'm using another product that works, but I like less well. I reached out to the developer some weeks back and did not hear back. I suspect this app has been abandoned

This is an amazing that is non intrusive and overall so fantastic. It's really easy on the eyes during late nights and I use it almost everyday! Thank you so much! EDIT: since the latest Software update on Samsung Android, the app no longer works. I can't click on the screen. Changing my review to 1 star until the bug is fixed.

Been using the app for a while on my Samsung s8. However, I got a newer Samsung and the app does not allow the touch screen to work when activated. To fix the problem, I have to close the app from the notification bar. I hope this problem is fixed because it's a really simple app that just has some bugs to fix.

I really like this one :) I like how the app does not have to open either I get to click on the app icon and the setting to navigate the ammont of light I want is automatic and FAST just like the autimatic volume setting on the phone can pop open! Awesome and convenient! Especially when I don't want to inturrupt a sleepy baby I'm trying to lay down :)

There's a small ad that shows at the bottom of your screen when you adjust the brightness but it's very ignorable and it works well. My only issue is when I open my phone's menu the dim doesn't apply. But regardless, I'd still recommend it to a friend!

Abandoned by developer. Last updated in 2020... with the new Android update this app still dims the screen but touch screen capabilities are gone only allowing the use of the bottom screen buttons such as back, home and most recent apps. It was such a good app and I feel that it could be a simple fix.

Not for new phones. I have s21ultra and it doesn't work with normal operating apps or systems. I couldn't open any apps including this one. My screen was dimmer, but that was the only positive. The only way I could turn it off was to pull down the notifications bar and select the app that way and kill it so I can get normal functionality.

This app makes it very easy and fast to adjust the brightness. Although I had searched for another app which I used on an older device, I am glad I found this one. Unlike some other apps, the adjustment bar goes away when you are finished changing the brightness level, so screenshots taken while the app is in use don't have the bar written over the photo.

The good part: The compact control lets you see what you're dimming. The bad part: Until you pay for it, it won't restore your last setting—so when you run it at night, you must look at a full-brightness screen until you can find and adjust the control. (Showing ads wasn't enough, apparently.) I don't know why someone would write an app ostensibly to help people's vision, then make them shine a flashlight in their faces to use it. I can only guess it was always about the dough. 🤷‍♂️

YES! Oh, how I've needed this app. Simple, effective, and very low on space. Thank you, developer! ❤️ Only suggestion is that it would be nice to have my phone's drop-down menu/settings to be darkened along with the rest of my screen and to have the slider there. Oh, I've just paired it with my phone's dark mode, and it's become even better!

App allows you to decrease screen brightness to a continuous range of levels, is displayed over other apps or the home, making it as easy as tapping off the slider to hide the app. Only downside, which I assume is unavoidable, is the navigation and notifications bars, as well as the notification section and a few others are lit as normal, which can be distracting, increase eye strain, and reduce night vision. Also, it seems such a simple app that it shouldn't have ads, or require you to rate it.

I am verry happy with this app. I think you will be too. This app. is easier and more specific when adjusting the display to brighten or darken than other apps I have tried. This app. has a blue light filter. This app. has a timer I can set so the filters I like come on and off (at the times that suit my schedule) automatically, saving me from having to do a whole lot of redundant keystrokes. This gives me more time to do what I love most reading.

I got this app to reduce the brightness and blue light at night on my previous phone (Galaxy S4). It worked perfectly, only it would not reduce the brightness of the navigation buttons (I used tape instead). I liked that i could easily adjust the levels on the widget from the drop down menu, & also turn it on & off easily. My new phone (A20e) doesn't need the app as much because it has a finer adjustment of the brightness and a blue light blocker, but I still use it for more reduction of light.

I like it, but I feel like it puts a fuzzy haze over my screen. It makes it hard to look at without giving me a headache. I do like that it adjusts my screen's brightness even further, and it has a blue light filter option. If it didn't make my screen look like someone put a very thin sheet over it, I'd keep it installed.

Was Excellent for a long time, worked perfectly, no issues. BUT recently, when I touch the button to close apps, it closes this app too, but it never closed it before. This means that in the dark at night and viewing stuff using this app, it will suddenly become very bright!! As I say, it didn't before.

Works great with very little intrusion from ads. Addition to my original review : I've been using it for about 2 years and up until a few weeks ago had no problems. But, the buttons on the play store as well as at least one app would not work. I went as far as doing a factory reset until I finally figured it out. Other than that the app works great.

Best app I've found so far. Not a bunch of ads, just straight forward, dims your screen in the evening when you need it most. Super easy to access. Also doesn't request a ton of permissions on your phone. Many others were so overly complicated that they didn't work with my phone. So if you want an easy, no extra bs, screen dimmer, than use this app!

Thann you so much for this! My screen did not dim well enough until I downloaded this a few months ago! I love it! Now my phone doesn't bother my three year old at night! Thank you for this app (I purchased the plus for 3.99 for a year. Thank you! I started with not paying and it was still worth it. I paid to have a timer. That way it can go on automatically. Not needed, but makes it easier.

This app is absolutely perfect! I don't normally give out 5 star reviews, but this one deserves it. It's super easy to work with, and it only takes a few seconds to allow it permissions. I wish I had found this app sooner. It's super dark, perfect for using phone at night or right when you wake up so you don't have light blaring in your eyes. There's no aggravating adds, or glitches and it runs super smoothly. Highly recommend.

Its a great app for dimming down your screen. The only ads are small banner ads at the bottom of your screen when you are changing the brightness via the app. Very easy to use, and it comes with a blue light filter as well. Only problem I can see is that it doesn't dim my home buttons on screen.

Ive been using this app every day for years and I love it!! What I like the most is that the ads are discreet and 0 invasive, there are no pop ups at all. It does exactly what it says though it doesn't draw on the home touch button (I have a LG G7) or the notifications menu, but it personally doesn't bother me at all. Plus I like the lil owl design of the app icon, it's cute! :P

There is only one issue i have with the app. And its that it does not function consistently. When the app is running in the background it tends to stop working and return the screen brightness and colour back to as it were before. It results in strain for the eyes and consequently fails to do its job as an app designed to help decrease the strain on the eyes.

Easy to use and is so customizable. Love the pause and stop buttons on the notification bar. Edit 11/24: my screen no longer functions when using this app. Seems to be due to the recent Android software update. A bummer to not be able to use this app. Fingers crossed for a fix.

Love this app! It does exactly what it needs to and my eyes are thanking me for it! I am very light sensitive and upgrading from an s9 to a pixel 4 came with a far brighter screen that I couldn't tone down far enough. I've suffered for a year with this problem until I finally found this app. I'm so happy that I'm going to buy the upgraded version of the app just so I can support the developers! Thank you for the lack of bullcrap with this app. The one ad is not intrusive and we appreciate it!

This is my Favorite screen dimming app. I get migraines from too much light. this app allows me to dim the screen way below the manufacturer's lowest setting. it makes it easy too. all I have to do is touch the icon and a slider pops up to adjust. to turn it off simply put the app slider at maximum brightness then close the window. that's it!

Phenomenal. Absolute knock out. The simplest UI possible - a brightness slider - and the highest opacity is incredibly dark. If you need to use your phone at night, install this app. You may want to pair this with a warm light filter like Night Shift for the perfect experience, but DEFINITELY TRY NIGHT SCREEN. With this turned on, I can make my screen so dark that I can barely see what I'm doing. Helps my eyes rest and my circadian signals to start kicking in while I play or browse. A+++++++!
