I was very excited about this ring when I ordered while still on kickstarter. We waited forever for it. Trying to use it and it doesn't connect or pair with my daughters phone. The links in the app don't work. The firmware update isn't working. And the ring doesn't seem to stay charged. We even tried to send out an alert and nothing. I am not sure what I backed and waited for, but this isn't it. Great concept, if it actually did something.
Had 1 day and Ring will not connect. Sitting on the charger for hours then tried connecting. It paired the 3rd time trying. Had it on for 1 hour And noticed it kept disconnecting. Unpaired it, pair again. Realized 3 hours later that it was no longer lit. Tapped it once and nothing. Put back on charger and 8 hours later LED is still RED! I am returning unfortunately. Great idea but shave off 2 stars for low performance, 2 stars for user experience. A star covers design. Maybe next generation???
Love the idea. Just wish the distance was longer between the ring and the phone, and I would also love to see it work as a stand alone unit, since there are situations in life when the phone is not on you when you need help. Ring disconnects quite often from the phone, even when the phone is on me, might be sending back and waiting for the next generation.
If I could give this negative stars I would. I can't add contacts to my "trusted list." I tried by adding contact AND manually entering the number. It says it's an invalid number. The customer service phone number is a message that says email them. I emailed them TWICE and STILL NO RESPONSE. I got the ring and this app because I NEED it. I am throughly dissatisfied at this moment. Nimb please make this right.
I will hopefully be changing this to 5 stars soon. 4 stars bc: 1) my ring has been disconnecting at the end of my night shift. I talked to Diana at Nimb and she has responded within a day to all my 50 emails and she helped me with almost everyone of my issues. Including this issue which I'll see if it helps tonight. 2) the app and ring was hard for me to set up. I didn't understand it. Hopefully a link will be included to a how to video on this and what your contacts are suppose to do too.
They've stolen my money, and every usps package gets held by the usps inspectors. I'm not sure whats going on, but this is a company ran by Russians. I'm still fighting for my money, but can barely get a reply via email. Their phone number is USELESS, and emailing isn't very efficient. Noonlight offers a cheaper subscription... Their product is expensive, non- reliable, etc. In fine print they tell you if you're in REAL trouble call 911 and skip the use of the ring. StacyLoft104@Gmail for info
I ordered my ring on October 17, 2019. I was offered a discount of 20% of the actual price. I read all the information about the ring, even the part when I paid that the services started immediately even though I didn't have the ring. I set up the application the best I could without the ring. At the time I was excited about my ring to arrive, I received many emails about my ring arriving by October 25, 2019. The ring never arrived. I am mad and disappointed. EBay and Amazon ship faster, Amy H.
Day 1 charged for hours, can't sync ring, called can't get anyone, emailedl, almost a week to respond, a portion of my questions answered & I replied immediately & waited another week, emailed cause the activation code has error, got a response with new code but ring stopped working. Got a response & was sent a replacement ring, got new ring today and now I can't update cause error. I AM DONE!!! 😡🤬
Very glitchy, support is never at the phones, chat with support is a pain cause they take forever to respond and are very rude, firmware won't update and this whole process is making me want to return it.
MY PACKAGE HAS BEEN LOST IN TRANSIT. LEGALLY, THE SELLER IS RESPONSIBLE UNTIL PACKAGE IS DELIVERED... THE PACKAGE HASN'T BEEN DELIVERED, AND THE COMPANY HAS BEEN AVOIDING ME. I'VE MADE A FAKE EMAIL ADDRESS TO MAKE SURE I WASN'T OVER THINKING, BUT THEIR RESPONSE TO AN EMAIL OTHER THAN MINE CONFIRMED SO MUCH. HOPE TO KEEP YOU ALL UPDATED ON THE OUTCOME.
The firmware will not download for nothing. I have reached out to the company for help and they haven't responded back to me as of yet and it has been going on 2 weeks now I give them a big fat F and wish they would contact me cause now all I want to do is send it back to them for my refund cause I'm not happy with it
Highly disappointed. Within an hour of opening the box of the matching ring for this app, made the decision to request a return. App was buggy using an iPhone but installed smoothly on android. After that, I saw a prompt to update the firmware. Update failed and failed and failed THEN the app lost connection to my ring and cant pair again. Software absolutely failed the creator of this device. And for those who are wondering, yes your "trusted circle" of people you want to send notification to are forced to have this buggy app too. Update. One good thing, customer service reps are very responsive. I cannot say they've 'resolved' my issue. The request for the return was handled efficiently but I have no input as to how the company will resolve all the issues with the app. This one is definitely one product that I will keep an eye on. Hopefully they will iron out all the kinks and have a real product release soon.
My sister got this ring for me because in my job as a birth doula I am on the road and entering and leaving hospitals at all hours. My husband is very annoyed that he has to install and register the app. My kids will probably not participate because of that. I won't be asking my friends to do so. This needs to be changed so the alert can be texted to anyone we choose in our safety circle without them having to feel pressured to install and register the app. I'm just not sure how much use this will really be for me now that I know so much is required of the people I choose as my circle. At the very least, there needs to he a separate app developed for those who are merely contacts of people who have the ring.
I feel so SAFE now!! Easy to use app and the ring looks great too if you have one. Only the user needs the app and to create an account, which is free to do. You can pay for an all alerts (police, fire, ems) if you want too, but it's not required. Love this ring and love this app 💙 ❤
Everytime I put in a phone number for a contact, no matter which format I use it still says invalid number
You're required to create an account and supply way too much sensitive data such, as name and birthday, as well as a picture just so you can receive someone's alert
I would like to see the phone work with more distance between the phone and the ring. I did contact support and it stopped vibrating while I'm wearing the ring and holding the phone in that hand; but it still vibrates quite often when more than 6ft or so apart. I think this ring is a brilliant idea and that's why I supported it over a year-and-a-half ago when I first ordered it. I wish the ring sent an alert message without the telephone app because where I'm from in the United States there have been many cases of people being yanked out of their car (in which case I wouldn't have my phone with me) or carjackings (where you don't have a chance to grab your phone to keep it with you) or an attacker takes your phone and throws it away or steps on it before continuing the attack. This is where the ring sending an alert without needing the phone or an app would be greatly beneficial.
All the ring does is open the app. You still need your phone with you to use it. The app is just basically a life alert you need a subscription for
I can't get the ring to connect to the phone. I took the ring out of the box, updated the firmware, then it hasn't connected since.
I have tried the Nimb ring twice. Sent the first one back because it kept disconnecting from my phone and it was white and turned yellow within a day. After some time I decided to try again. This time I got s black ring which is a much better color to keep clean but it is still constantly disconnecting, turning off, very glitchy and now it won't connect to the phone anymore. On the charger the light flashes green but it doesn't do anything off the charger. Had it two weeks! Doesn't work anymore!
