I no longer am receiving emails in a timely fashion. It used to arrive and notify immediately, now nothing comes through for an hour or two and I have been losing out on important time sensitive opportunities. I bought this app specifically for this reason and it is no longer doing its job. I am not happy. (And yes, battery optimization is turned off.)
The best Android email client that I found. Great support too. I would really like to see the setting that allows for defining default outgoing server (no matter from which server the email was downloaded) but I do understand this need might be a niche :)
Generally like the app, but have issues trying to see older emails I can never seem to be able to go back more than a month or so. I have it set to download all emails.
App removes HTLM formatting from contacts notes destroying all special formatting like indents, paragraphs spacing, bullets (converts them to dots), font sizing, font embellishments, and so on. This makes nicely formatted contact notes plain and ugly when viewed by desktop outlook. Contacted support and they acknowledged that they only support plain text in the contact notes. Dumb. If zero stars was possibly, I would give it a bit fat zero.
2022: wow, so weak functionality! 2019: it's weak compared to AqualMail. identities is the first check, and there are none. Nilch. So for email, useless. Widgets too simple. No productivity notif/widget actions like map/navi. 1mo email sync only. Categories equal tasks? Not all contacts categories fetched. So can't use contacts either. Only calendar remains. Nice to see this is the only app which can login with just address+pwd, custom domain. All in one app is good approach.
I was using Touchdown for so many years I can't remember when I found it. Then Symantec bought it and things went down hill from there. They finally discontinued the best Outlook replacement app ever made. So, I found Nine. I still would have preferred to keep Touchdown but Nine is a fantastic app that supports all the features of Outlook and is easy to use.
Worked great until I went on vacation and turned off notifications. I can't get notifications working again even after reinstalling the app and checking every single setting in the app and android.
Switched from a Huawei P30 to a Xiaomi and it was missing an inbuilt email app. I've been through so many play store email apps and none would sync themselves. Tried Nine and it doesbeverything perfectly, thanks so much.
I've been using Nine for last few years and I love the product but something happened with the last update, which corrupted my local business account and I'm unable to send or receive emails from O365. have to move to other app now.
Not marking emails as "read". My trial period will end in 2 days. I want to like this app, but there are several annoyances. I'm willing to live with most, but one. When I open an email to read it, after backing out, the email isn't marked as being read.
Used to work great. All of a sudden when I am forwarding emails, it looses HTML and everything is sent in Plain Text. This is big deal is really hurting my daily work activities. I ld like to find a way to fix it without installing the app and trying to reinstall it since I have a few different accounts setup and many signtures...
No emails notifications!!! Lately after the last update emails notifications gone , i reinstalled app and it worked . Now after 3 days it's gone again !!!! Don't know what's wrong with the app ??? I'm using it like 3 years now , and this never happened !!! Plz fix it soon ...
I installed an exchange account which forced pin security. I removed the exchange account but the pin security remained and i was unable to remove it. I changed the security policy to device because it was the only option i had to restore the app to a non-pin state. All my accounts were removed and i had to re-add all of them. If an exchange account is removed, the password requirement should have also been removed (original state), but it wasn't. This issue wasted half of my work day.
5.24.22 Think I will pay for this. I am trying this on the trial. Got a sort of grumpy reply from support on a Nine issue, but they did reply. Gave up w 2 open source apps ~~ Developers who refused to admit errors and then bully for 5 star ratings. Lost accounts and data. Google blamed.
This is one of the nicer email app our there... much better than outlook... but I can't get one of the most important features for me working: notifications on sub folders.
You will see a lot of 4 stars here. To be very clear, compared to the Outlook app, this is a 5 star app. Outlook app is so garbage. Seriously, MS should be embarrassed. This app gets 4 stars because it is missing some features like adding Teams meetings to events, being able to @ mention people in emails, or being able to add events via touch at the 30 minute mark - like in gmail. However, this the best email app that works with Outlook. Definitely worth a purchase.
I had Touchdown years ago on my Android phone. Of course, they vanished and chose Nine based on reviews that said it was very much like Touchdown. It is a great app, with every capability that I need. I recently got Office 365 for a new laptop and desktop and so rolled those over to my phone. They are so weak compared to Nine that I simply got rid of them. Nine is a big winner!
I must have tried a dozen or so email apps and each one had at least one deal breaker. One didn't have an "undo" in the editor. One didn't sync calendar. One didn't sync folder in the background. The list goes on. Nine does have some gaps but not the deal breakers. It would be nice to create one touch icons on the screen to go direct to calendars, contacts, etc. The press, hold, and select feature is fine but not the best experience. Also, I haven't figured out how to smoothly coordinate Nine contacts with the text and phone apps.
I love this app so much more than the stock outlook app. I use it for both business and personal but I am able to easily keep the two profiles separate from each other. I do have an issue that emails that go folders dont show up in the notifications and I have to check the folders manually. I found a way to change that setting, but even after I changed the settings, it only worked for a few days and then stopped again. Otherwise, it's great app for consolidating all your emails in one place.
I really like this app a lot and it used to be great. However, lately my emails have been taking anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to arrive even with push set up. They used to even come in slightly before my Outlook account on my PC connected to our domain. I have a OnePlus 6T and an office 365 exchange email account with my employer. This has been happening since the update before this latest one. Edit: I followed the suggestion of 9Folders Inc and this fixed the above problem. It still seems as if it is a little slower that it had been in the past pushing emails, however, it is no where near as bad as before the fix. Thanks to the developers for helping out so quickly. Responses and developers like this make it easy to justify paying for apps that are better than the free ones.
After initial issue with getting app to sync reliably, which was resolved extremely rapidly by developer support, the overall function is now very good. Used with an exchange account this is easily the most useful tool I use, giving access to email, calendar, and task functions. I don't use notes and therefore won't comment other than to say I see no reason why it would not function as well. Layout is good, particularly as calendar is extremely busy but the presentation remains very clear and highly usable.
The actual app? Pretty amazing - it succeeded where Outlook has failed. I really liked that i could view the entire email in the notification bar, and the assistant (although I think the assistant should've included reminders). The downside of course is the price. Almost $20 CAD for an email app that only has a feature or two that free (or much much cheaper) apps don't. I really can't justify that much for a phone app... seems silly. If it were $5 or even $10 I would jump on it.
Update 1: thanks for the response! After playing around with it more, it seems to Start in the Inbox, but if I click into a mail item and hit the 'back' button - it defaults me to All Mail? It doesn't seem to go back to where I clicked into the email consistently. Original: The default view in the settings doesn't seem to work for me? I have it set to Inbox, but every time I come to the app, it defaults me to All Mail?
I really like this, but didn't find it until after I'd paid for another app (Aquamail). After having some issues with Aquamail, I decided to switch to this. During the two week trial, I found a consistent problem with attachments, that doesn't happen with other apps. I logged a report, but haven't had a single reply in the weeks since I logged it. Unfortunately, the trial expired, and unlike other apps, that locks you out completely. I decided to pay for it anyway despite knowing I had an issue that was a blocked for me, but I'm concerned that there seems to be no support whatsoever...
I've been using this app for a few years now and have had no complaints. Of late though (for over a month), the composer seems totally messed up. When editing an already typed word, it deletes the next word when pressing space. Its EXTREMELY frustrating ! Its a paid app.. so i expect quality. A bug in a staple feature cannot be left open for this long.
I've used this app for years for work on all my devices. It's been great until lately there's glitches with email text editing, it's getting to the point where I'm looking for a new app. Every time I need to edit a word it deletes words and adds random letters. It's frustrating and I'm concerned I'll end up missing something and send an email with a typo.
For the record i've used the app for less than about an hour. But that's a whole hour i spent configuring Nine because holy f*** the amount of options available is simply amazing. - Clean UI 5/5 not really original but it's super clean ( reminds me of gmail in a good way) - Filtering & Subfolder option 5/5 i can finally turn on /off my notifications for every single subfolder. you can change the sound the vibration, wearable notifications, how often you want to sync a folder and the list goes on and on. ( this level of granularity is why i installed the app in the first place) - General Feeling : it's great , the only thing i can't measure at this point is the battery consumption and i guess it depends on your sync profile. -> i think the app is on 15$ after 2 weeks. I'm not really happy about the price ( i think it's a bit expensive) but i know i won't regret it. at least it's a one time thing and not a subscription.
