Pretty good. I like the narrator's voice and reading style. The only problem I've had is that after having it on my phone for a year+ there were suddenly strange people's messages/ads poping up on my phone. This was happening when I wasn't using the app but appeared to be sent through this Bible app. I deleted the app and it stopped, recently re-downlowded it and haven't had any problems yet.
Was very thankful to find this app. I'm not a huge NLT fan but it's hard find an app with both audio and written text and not very invasive ads. However, it's not very easy to switch between the written or the spoken function - a bit of hit and miss. It actually looks like switching between two different apps. I'm also disappointed that the audio and written words differ, so you can't read along easily while listening. It sounds like they went and changed some words. All in all not bad though.
Like this app, but some serious sound quality issues. Clicks and pops and compression distortion impede my ability to concentrate on the word. Also background music pops up almost randomly and sometimes the insturmentation interferes with narration frequency making listening illegible. Other than those, I really like this version, the reading pace, and vocal quality of the narrator. So much so, that these shortcomings cause me great unhappiness. Otherwise it would be perfect.
A third-rate app. Why that annoying background music? All you hear is the background music drowning out the man's voice. I am at the point of giving up my search for a good straightforward honest Audio Bible app. We want to hear a voice reading the precious words of Scripture. We simply cannot concentrate with all those silly musical effects. I am yet to find a developer who truly reveres God's Word. I am exiting this app!
Great great great Bible app with human voices reading in the audio version! The New Living Translation is hands down the best and most complete translation out there for any modern English speaking reader/listener (in my opinion). Another great feature of this app is that it has an awesome real main narrator voice, and other actors come in sometimes to read different character's parts seamlessly.
Interfacing with the app is the most difficult part. It is an audio version, but it makes it difficult to actually get the app to read TO the listener. Also, the reader guys does sound like "an authority " when he reads aloud, but he often gets the words incorrect. Thank you for his app. -Lü
There were no ads until I clicked that I would never rate the app. Now they are way too often. Cannot find a setting to remember where I left off reading. It resets itself every time. Audio is convenient, good, clear voice.
I've been looking for an app like this! The audio isn't word for word but it's real people speaking and calming music playing along in the background. It has daily versus as well. You can highlight verses and mark favorites! So far I'm really enjoying it!
Really like the human audio voice (though I realized it's a slightly different translation). UPDATED 4/11/19 The app upd 2 days ago. It now also includes KJV & NKJV books. YES! LOVE! And now a "continuous reading" option. 09/10/19. Noticed recently app only has NLT translation: disappointed. 11/6/19 I like the addition of the auto scroll. You can adjust speed. 3/17/20-started getting notifications with "girly" ads. WHY?? Please remove! ***FIXED*** thank you!!
This app is pretty good. Is doesn't continuously keep reading the Bible so I wish there was an option for that cause im having to go back to my phone every minute or two and push on the next chapter. Also maybe have different voices to chose from. Its very monotone.
I really like this app. The only thing I wish the developer would change is please make it to where it will run continuously so when listening you don't have manually go to each chapter. Bookmarks would be awesome too if you go from book to book and/or chapter to chapter you forget where u left off.
Reading is very expressive. The version of the reading is a contemporary version. There is also background music with some passages. It just keeps me "lost in listening".
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE NLT Audio Bible Free. It is so easy & fast to use, I use all 3 versions for quick reference during my quiet time (when I don't want things complicated). I haven't used the audio option enough to give a thorough rating but it seemed quite adequate.
Such a rewarding Bible I love it because it doesn't have all the ads and all the little things added to it, like all the newer apps! The other ones I tried the word kept getting interrupted with so many different things! You never get interrupted with this Bible app! ✝️God bless us all and God bless America🇺🇲
Being able to have the bible read to me on the go is awesome. Some issues that really are no big deal....when you have it set so it does not play on repeat it still does, over and over and over again. Also, i try and exit the app and it does not let me. Sometimes it does, but im not sure what exactly was done that i was able to exit. Sometimes it just closes out for no reason. Really like being able to hear Gods word on the go. Im sure the bugs will get worked out at some point.
